Step into the Fantasy World of Genshin Impact with Razer

Razer, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers (Hong Kong Stock Code: 1337), today announced a new strategic partnership with global interactive entertainment developer and publisher, miHoYo for its free-to-play, award-winning title, Genshin Impact. As part of this partnership, Razer and miHoYo will further immerse gamers in the open-world action role playing game title through licensed co-branded peripherals, Razer Chroma RGB integration and product support such as a custom-tuned THX Game Profile to enhance the gaming experience.

"The beautiful world of Genshin Impact has encapsulated many fans globally and the opportunities are boundless," said Justin Cooney, Director, Global Partnerships at Razer. "Through this partnership, Razer will provide our expertise in deepening the gamer's immersive experience through our award-wining hardware, software and services, and bring the adventure to life."

Plunge into the open world with Razer

Together with miHoYo, Razer has developed co-branded gaming hardware. Fans can look forward to Genshin Impact themed designs on Razer's award-winning products including the Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro gaming mouse, Razer Iskur X ergonomic gaming chair as well as the Razer Goliathus Speed gaming mouse mat. To further commemorate the partnership, coming with each co-branded product is a bonus code that fans can use to redeem exciting in-game rewards.

For the ultimate Genshin Impact gaming station, Genshin Impact designs will soon be available on Razer Customs, an online service by Razer.com that offers official partner designs for a range of Razer hardware. Razer Customs enables gamers to personalize and modify their gear including mice, phone cases and mouse mats, making it truly their own.

To further amp up the immersion, Razer also provides a custom-tuned THX Game Profile via the THX Spatial Audio app. The profile is available on PC and is compatible with all gaming headsets for Genshin Impact. With the aim of delivering advanced 7.1 surround sound with pinpoint positional accuracy, the THX Spatial Audio app enables realistic acoustics for a lifelike reflection of the in-game surroundings.

Genshin Impact was released in September 2020 to great fanfare. The highly popular game title won multiple awards including the App Store Game of the Year 2020, Google Play Best Game of 2020 and Tokyo Game Show Media Awards 2020 public polls. The game title was subsequently integrated into the Razer Gold and Silver platform in December 2020.

The most hilarious part of advertising a gaming chair, aside from coming after the embarrassingly botched anniversary event, is that Genshin has always been buggy af on PC.
  • G-sync flat out has never worked with Genshin out of the box, because it has never offered true fullscreen.
  • If you choose to get around it by setting windowed G-sync, you get PWM-esque flickering and poor G-sync performance.
  • If you set -window-mode exclusive and Disable Full screen Optimizations, you get G-sync but get slow and buggy alt-tab that sometimes just freezes.
  • If you choose to use said fullscreen hack, you cannot start it using the launcher, you must use a custom shortcut.
  • With the fullscreen hack, you can't click any sort of shop/event link that leads outside the game into a browser. The game will freeze or black screen, have to Alt+Enter first into windowed.
  • Setting Variable Refresh Rate on in Windows will randomly crash the game.
  • Even worse, since update 2.0, even with the fullscreen hack nowadays you still need to Alt+Enter twice every time you open the game to get it to work.
  • Game is hardlocked to 60Hz but the engine clearly doesn't have such limitations.
A pure, plain 60Hz monitor will still work fine, but I doubt those users buy gaming chairs. Truly, a collaboration of the world's most consumer-friendly companies, Mihoyo and Razer. /s

This!
I set my monitor to 75Hz thinking that Gsync (compatible) will adjust Hz to 60fps like other games. But no, the game doesn't look smooth with 60fps + 75Hz. After months of not realizing I set my monitor back to 60Hz and noticed how the game looks so much smoother.

There are lots of performance issues in this game such as occasional stutters even with more than adequate hardware, higher PING than other online games, etc. Although I never face the other issues you mentioned. Lucky me?

Also I don't know if other players notice this too, but the horizontal and vertical mouse sensitivity are not consistent. The vertical one has noticeably less sensitivity than horizontal axis, so moving your mouse diagonally feels off, imagine moving your mouse 45 degree diagonally but the game register 35 or 40 degree. Is it because I'm playing on 21:9? I've no idea, but as an archer player this is really bugging me. I did asked MHY to give ability to set vertical and horizontal sensitivity separately since 1.3 iirc.

I don't play it, but I can almost guarantee you this is because some dumbass with too much time on their hands thought it would be a good idea since monitors(especially ultra wide-sceen ones) tend to be much wider than they are tall. The only problem is they seem to have forgotten that nobody ever moves their mouse pointer from point A to point B in a perfectly straight line, so the scaling between the two axis is always going to be a pain in the ass when trying to manipulate the pointer with any kind of precision.

The targeting in general is choppy and pepega I think. I have it even worse since I play on an Xbox controller, but kinda got used to it over time - only archer I use is Yoimiya and she doesn't really do charged attack. In the end I think I resorted to aiming for major adjustments and strafing for micro-adjustments, since strafing is much more precise. Bow aiming doesn't feel smooth at all because horizontal targeting feels like it almost "snaps" into place every degree or two and actively works against you.

I guess perhaps 75Hz is not too far from 60Hz? On mine the game is trying to reconcile 165Hz refresh rate with a 60Hz cap. Most of the buggy alt-tab/freezing comes from the fullscreen trick to preserve Gsync/Freesync (windowed G-sync is really headache-inducing). I guess I could manually set 60Hz when I play, but it's pretty ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just for one game, on a 165Hz monitor.

People have always been asking MHY to step up to the 120Hz cap as per Honkai, or simply asking MHY to fix G-sync or implement fullscreen so they can stop having a horrible experience on 120/144/165Hz. MHY not only doesn't care, they actively made G-sync fullscreen worse post-2.0. While Genshin is not the only 60Hz-capped game I play, it's the only one that runs like absolute dogshit as a result.

Then there's the co-op netcode (LOL) and sporadically stutters even with G-sync............used to put up with it because MHY seemed like they cared about the playerbase, before 2.0. The recent anniversary backlash really got me pondering my life choices.

DOesn't seem like the stutters will be fixed unless 120Hz cap. The game is way too CPU-bound.

It could be. I also thought that because ultrawide is wider, causing the V and H axis don't sync very well. But changing to other games like GTA, or even Black Mesa, aiming works perfectly.
If this was really the issue, I can't imagine someone playing on 32:9, lol.

You describe it perfectly! I mostly don't have problem with aiming horizontally, combined with major adjustment and strafing like you said, but aiming something with height difference such as Ruin Guard, Ruin Grader, Ruin Hunter, still doesn't work very well even with mouse. Even after 1 year playing with archer everyday, I still can't get used to the targeting perfectly. Remember Bulls Eye mini game at Windblume event? That's when I really feel aiming in Genshin is much more tiring than other games. Maybe this is one of the reason many players don't use archer's charged atk that much, except for Ganyu who has large AoE and easier to hit.

Perhaps, now I just set my monitor to 60Hz, Gsync (freesync) is on. The issues sounds bad, I'm glad I'm not facing that kind of issues. Hopefully it gets fixed later on.

I getting curios. Just few minutes to download and test it out too. I've only played on my T870 Tablet.
EDIT
I guess will keep playing it on a tablet :D. It is utterly not compiled with PC gaming in mind and they don't ever care.

I got curious today and unchecked Disable Fullscreen Optimization again to see if G-sync would work. To my surprise, it did! So it looks like somewhere along the line MHY either fixed it (unlikely), or Windows 11 is just better compatible with the game, or Nvidia stealthily fixed it?

Looks like no more need to set 60Hz, no more buggy slow alt-tab crashing anymore, no windowed mode G-sync, all you have to do is launch with "-window-mode exclusive". Still have to alt+tab twice but it's so much faster due to optimized fullscreen.

The reason I don't want to set 60Hz is because the input lag is quite bad compared to 144Hz or 165Hz. Not sure why it is, because the game is still running at 60, but having the monitor set to 165Hz is a huge difference, both with Nvidia Reflex set to On - playing an archer on 60Hz is almost unplayable with the 60Hz input lag.
