You can benchmark on anything. To a point, but still why pay 8 when you can run, say, OCCT for free... or Unigine.. or *insert game XYZ*
70-8 is paying 62 bucks to play Diablo IV while benching your card instead of 78 to have pretty much the same thing :rolleyes:
If you want to actually debug your GPU, there is GPU-Z and ingame monitoring. Synthetics to debug? That's a first...
Ranking... is mostly a cause for concern because CPU score weighs into it, you can have a subpar score with a perfectly fine GPU and then people go on a wild goose chase to find a problem that doesn't exist.
I think the primary purpose of a GPU-heavy bench is to determine the OC limits of the card, but frankly, there are better ways for that too now on all GPUs too. Its called an undervolt and/or running stock. Yeah... physics, a CPU test that scales dramatically on core count, which is exactly what games don't really need :D
3DMark is 99% pointless today, to be honest.
While tests that are Port Royal, Time Spy etc are fully game tests. They emulating gaming environment.
