Sony Introduces PS5 Deep Earth Collection

We hope you enjoyed the exciting news from yesterday's State of Play, including the first glimpse of the new Deep Earth Collection joining the PS5 family of accessories. The collection introduces three new colors for the DualSense wireless controller and PS5 console covers, all with a smooth metallic finish: molten Volcanic Red, alluring Cobalt Blue, and sleek Sterling Silver.

To share more about the design and process behind this new and vibrant collection, here's Satoshi Aoyagi and Leo Cardoso from our design team. Aoyagi stated: "While crafting this new collection of DualSense controller and PS5 console cover colors, we drew inspiration from the beautiful and powerful hues found in the depths of planet Earth. We elevated the colors by adding a metallic finish for a touch of sophistication."
Cardoso said: "Volcanic Red boasts a rich blazing red tone. Cobalt Blue, on the other hand, presents a deep shade of blue with intriguing hints of purple. Lastly, Sterling Silver showcases a classic aesthetic with a subtle blue undertone."

We're excited to bring this new range of colors to fans in the coming months. Pre-orders for the Deep Earth Collection will begin on October 4, with Volcanic Red and Cobalt Blue accessories launching on November 3, followed by the launch of Sterling Silver accessories on January 26.
The Deep Earth DualSense controllers will be available for a recommended retail price (RRP) of $74.99 USD/¥9,980 (including tax)/€74.99/£64.99, while the Deep Earth PS5 console covers will be available for a recommended retail price (RRP) of $59.99 USD/¥7,980 (including tax)/€59.99/£49.99. The way they have the colours laid out reminds me of the Gran Turismo logo.

kind of boring really, for as much as they cost, would be nice to have some actual designs or patterns/themes

ah, i forgot that one ... well it's the neater of the 3 that use these colot in basic separations

UK/US are too complex to spring in mind, strange ... the color are right but the pattern doesn't pop up ... because, well the boring "no pattern just bog basic color" of the product in that PR

I believe they are the same price as previous coloured accessories, first party accessories are just damn expensive.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for a different coloured Edge controller

Although I don't give a crap about consoles in general, I do like the blue color somewhat, however, why don't they just make the machines & accessories in colors to start with, instead of having to buy & slap on a "cover" after the fact.... we'll of course I know why, so they can milk the end users out of even more $$....

When I first saw the "earth" part, I was really hoping for some forest green, oak or maple, or maybe even a coral sea color, but oh well....

This just reminds me of the good ole saying "lipstick on a pig" :)

Selling the PS5 in so many different colors from the get go would be troublesome but they could offer a configurator online like what xbox does with the controllers. (i'll wait for my check in the mail sony ;)
