AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Box Pictured Up Close

Here is the first picture of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D retail box up close. We've seen lower-res versions of this box in older leaks. A variation of the retail box-art of other Ryzen 9000 series "Granite Ridge" desktop processors, The 9800X3D box brightens up the silver background behind the AMD Arrow, as well as the Arrow's orange borders. One of the triangular background cutouts has the "7" brand extension, while the other mentions AMD 3D V-cache technology, which is all the confirmation we need that this indeed is the 9800X3D. AMD announced the 9000X3D series debut earlier this week, with product availability starting November 7, 2024.

Anyone else get excited looking at a cardboard box?
Nah didn't think so.
Unless you're a cat of course.

I don't know... some people have a thing for this.... expect to see multiple listings for this exact thing on ebay for 'box only'...

Those people would drool over my Threadripper gen 1 box then. Useless crap to chip ratio is 98% to 2%

Umm, this needed exposure? I suppose it's good to see a genuine box for comparison when you order a 9800X3D from Ali Express.

There's more information on the box but it's written in time-activated ink.

Why Arrow with the capital A? Is it because it will be on par with ARL, which should be on par with RPL, which in turn is slower than the 7800x3d? Meaning AMD wants to play it safe by setting our expectation very very low?

No mentions of the word "Ai" anywhere, I'm impressed. Maybe there is hope for lots of "Ai" features at the back, we need moar Ai please.

They did look kinda nice back then....
Although not like Intel weren't doing their own excessively designed products:

I have to admit, it's a shame that the X3D boxes aren't something a little more special looking - not saying they need to go crazy, maybe just have a more '3D' / 'stacked' design to where the CPU sits or something...

Is the design of the box really news worthy? Who cares?

No 'Ai' specific logic in these.... although that's an incorrect statement - there isn't really 'Ai' logic even in NPUs; they are just very good at fast parallel simple calculations.
In the same way MMX wasn't good for just 'multimedia' work and could boost all types of matrix maths, arrary calculations, etc.

Because the AMD Arrow logo is a trademark by AMD. With capital A.

While cleaning out my office last night, I threw away a large box full of small boxes much like this box.

I can 100% guarantee I will throw away a box just like this box in 5 or so years.

Personally I'm waiting on the 9900X3D. I am interested to see whether they can make this a viable option.
