Bang & Olufsen Introduce £400 4GB MP3 Player
Bang & Olufsen has announced the 'Beosound 6', a 4GB flash player which will retail at £400.
This somewhat expensive gadget comes with a £20 worth leather case and pair of £90 worth B&O A8 earphones meaning it will cost you about £400 or almost 700euros.
Make no mistake, if this gadget had something more to offer than just MP3 playback i would give it a go but it doesnt..No Video , No FM...Just MP3 playback.
The Lcd screen is also a rather small 1.8 incher and the controls are circa 2005...For 700euros you could get the PS3 and have money to spare...

And I wouldn't say B&O are one of the best in terms of sound quality, but each to his own...
B&O make awesome sound equipment.
i once stayed at a hotel that had a B&O stereo in the room, in terms of sound quality, it was the best damn stereo system i've EVER had the pleasure to listen to.
and i'm an audiophile.
From what I've been told they get the most up to date screens on the planet...there's a reason why they sell TVs for ~£20,000! The sound quality of their TVs (even the smaller 26" versions) beats the ass off ANY TV I've ever heard and almost sound as good as my bi-wired Monitor Audio Silvers :D
For me, Bowers and Wilkins, McIntosh, Sonus Faber, are companies that are much more audio-focused, and have better stuff.
Motorola=Foxconn
Intel Mobos=Foxconn
Maytag, Kitchenaid, Whirlpool, and some others=Same company
Real brands hardly exist today.
It COMES WITH the leather case and the A8 headphones. that does not mean you pay extra. So your article is very misleading.
So really the player is costing you 290 pounds. because the headphones are 90, and the case 20.
And just because YOU can't appreciate good sound, does not mean other people also cannot.
A good digital audio player shouldnt have video or all that extra junk. a good audio player should be a GOOD AUDIO PLAYER. not a half ass audio player with half assed video.
Style-maven Bang & Olufsen has introduced a new DAP into the mix, called the Beosound 6. Breaking from typical B&O design convention -- which can often be a little absurd (see the
Beosound 2 and 3) -- the Beosound 6 is a strikingly simple design; a silver, candy-bar shaped audio player with stripped-down controls and a thin LCD display. Specs are light at the moment, but it looks like standard MP3 / WMA playback, 4GB of flash memory (jettisoning the company's previous SD storage scheme), a 65K color LCD screen, and USB connectivity. The player will also be accompanied by a leather case and the company's A8 earphones, and will retail for around £400 ($812 US).

Label freaks' favourite Bang & Olufsen has announced the 'Beosound 6', a 4GB flash player with more than a passing resemblance to Samsung's year old YP-Z5. Unfortunately however whereas the 4GB Sammy model retails for under £140, B&O will be charging £400...
If you aren't screaming out loud with consternation or laughing hysterically then you should be. This is simply outrageous and forget that it comes with a leather case (£20) and pair of B&O A8 earphones (£90), it still costs more than an Xbox 360 Premium!
Missleading how exactly ?????
Its a 400 Pounds Mp3 player...Did i say anything else ???
Ive heard of this brand. Ive seen & also heard 1 of their 2.1 sound systems go for the price of the best 5.1 surround sound kit u can buy.
I love my music, im really anal about my music. about my favorite bands etc & Im a guitarist in a band that does gigs locally, & yes. I also quite anal about the sound I get from my gutar setup - so I guess im half audiophilenese. (I can also quote the bit rate of MP3's without looking at media player!!!)
back to the OP. you may love your sound as much as me but on a bang for buck comparision Id go with the cheaper player with more storage....
having XFi technology built into an mp3 player is cool but nothing can compare with the price so long as u got a decent set of headphones. got all your favorite tracks on the player. & the battry lasts for a good 12hrs. thats really all you need....
