Court Orders Convicted Pirate to Dump Linux and Use Windows
Well, it looks like another pirate has been convicted and thrown in jail. However, Scott McCausland, ex-administrator of the Elite Torrents Bit Torrent tracker, has a rather peculiar sentence to serve. After pleading guilty to 'conspiracy to commit copyright infringement' and 'criminal copyright infringement', the court gave him five months in jail and five months house arrest. Under the condition that he follows his parole officer's orders, of course. Those orders were simple: McCausland must let the FBI watch his every online move. In order for that to happen, McCausland must dump Linux for Windows in order for that to happen. McCausland claims that this is cruel and unusual punishment, as it means he will have to buy expensive software while he is unemployed.

you know i have a HDD in the garage with a legit copy of home on it wonder if that counts
To be legal in the us when installing a using a different key there are a few rules...
If its pro in this case, you have to legally own pro, I don't think it can be an OEM copy either.
And remember its not the install that counts, its that stupid little piece of paper, plastic w/e the situation is that the license key is written on, possession of that is legal rights to the software.
After I swap my mainboard I'll be running Server 2003 64bit, Ubuntu 64bit, and OSX!
Now all I need is 8gb of ram!
My bus. partner is running osx on his pc its GREAT!
So where is the downside???
:slap:
OSX OWNS YOU!
Sorry but the truth shines.
Besides we were talking about how to use Corp edition legally without buying 1000 licenses.
1 this forum is hosted outside of the US.
2 no one ever flat out said i use an illicit copy of XP i just mentioned were i got it from wich may or may not be legal they had extra copies i used them walla not illicit now is it?

Nothing that counts except useless poorly programmed games....

Run Photoshop, Video Editing, or Music production software on Windows and then run it on OSX and tell me what happens...
Give ya an idea... Mac OS whoops winblows arse!
My Apple G3 with 512mb of ram whooped my old P4 2.8 with 1 gig of rams arse in Photoshop and I use it ALOT.
So there is a taste of Apple OS goodness over WinDont *do anything right*

Also remember thats not the OS sucking, thats the makers of the direct software there.
Lol until you know anything don't bother to speak.
Mac OS is far superior to windows in many categories simple as that.
And I'm far from a Mac fan....
Take a read up of strapping Mac G5's together running Mac X Server...
Want to see technology, how about strapping the computers together and making them run like a rack system super computer, and the OS supporting it...
I think this may be the reason why sethv1993 called you a fanboi
although I have no clue who sethv1993 is........
Mac OS is far superior to Windows and it pretty much has been for years.
They are overpriced, and they have their market cornered, but for the things
they do, and the software that is also written for them, runs so incredibly much
faster and better its disgusting.
I do promotional work for about 20 nightclubs where I live, and every single DJ and light system runs on Mac's and OSX, I have a few close business contacts that work in various marketing and advertisement companies, all use Mac's and OSX, and a few people in music production well same thing again Mac's and OSX..
I plan on installing OSX on my system simply for photoshop and video editing, and if I ever get back into recording my own music again I will use it for that also.
Mac is for work. and If its so good, why are we all on windows.
Anyways yes for most home users that want easy and their software they know its not a good choice, but it still is a superior OS standalone, and there is a command line "type" on mac os also :)
We are all on windows because its a world standard practically, everyone knows it, everyone has it, schools have it.
Mac's are expensive because they have a tight nit market, their OS isn't expensive their machines are... You will see microsoft eat a good chunk of market if mac releases a PC version of Mac OS. Currently I don't think they are allowed to do that by some goofy contract, but that will pass.
