NVIDIA G8x shader clock control has been around since the cards were released -- for those proficient in flashing their bios. Moreover, not only does bios flashing allow one to profile 2D/3D/Throttle GPU/Memory/Shader clocks, fan speeds, voltages, memory timings, boot message, and bootup clocks, it does not require alteration if/when the card is used with another PC, the OS is reinstalled, or a new driver forces reconfiguration of software (RivaTuner / ATITool) settings.

Yes, but you also risk flashing the card to a messed up setting. For some people we would rather prefer Rivatuner or an application to tweak the card.

I do want to mod my BIOS for 1.35v though.

I understand and agree (which is precisely why I mentioned "for those proficient in flashing their bios”).

Interestingly, configuring a safe bootup clock profile (a default feature on G8x products) and having a diskette with original (or known safe) 2D/3D/Throttle settings eliminates bios flashing hazards or permanent anomalies.

Happy flashing (to 1.35v)!
