AMD Changes dates too!

AMD has recently informed their AIB partners that the RV670 launch date will be brought forward from November 19th to November 15th. This puts 4 business days (5 calendar days) between the launches of the RV670 and the G92. They also announced that the official marketing name will be released sometime next week (So don't get too used to the thought of calling it the HD 2950). Lastly AMD will be pushing back the 790FX (RD790) and AMD 770 (RX780) launch dates from November 5th to November 20th.

I guess good news doesn't go without something else going sour. Although this does narrow the gap that the G92 has to enter the market and gain share. I think that this strategy will prove positive.

Perhaps the AMD 700 series chipset has been pushed back to launch with the Phenom line? *please be that*

790FX? Is that an enthusiast chipset for the FX series?

Wonder what they'll name the RV670.

HD 2950 XT/XTX actually sounds sane.
HD 3700 XT/XTX sounds okay

but it would be a blunder if they called it HD 3900

the stupid thing they already did was naming HD 2900.

Yeah, why isn't the hd 2900xt called the hd 2800xt? AMD usually always starts with the _800 series.

Mate, before the HD 2000 series, ATI was independent, not part of AMD. Actually, if you look at the HD 2900 XT 's overall review set, they should have named it HD 2700 XT. Remember the Radeon 9700 was the starting point of ATI's onslaught on the Geforce FX line?
