Firmware 3.90 with Skype Now Available on Network Update

Fanboy reports that the PSP 3.90 firmware update is now available. The new firmware available only through Network Update will bring Skype for all PSP-2000 models. Here are the official details:
  • Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
  • Skype has been added as a feature under Network. (Only for PSP-2000 series)
Skype requires a PSP headset in order to work properly.

Finally Skype is here!
The only bad thing is that I haven’t got a headset for my psp slim... :ohwell:

But surely I will grab one!

Fanboy reports??? I didnt know there were any left alive after after the shoddy effort from Sony & also other games distributors to bring decent games to the psp


(yes i know - its a flamer but also one filled with sarcasum just like a warm bed on a cold Christmas day)

They're also added GO!Messenger to the menu (in the UK at least) but you can't use it yet :banghead:

I think I read it's something to do with the original PSP not meeting some of the requirements set out by Skype. That might just be a rumour though, and it could be that Sony is trying to tempt people with a fat PSP to buy a slim one too, although I doubt too many people would bother.

the fat psp has 32mb of memory, while the slim has 64mb of memory.

can anyone tell me if with headset that works with the psp slim will work with the ps3??? also, i heard that if you have a psp and you have gran turismo 5 on your ps3 you can actually use the psp as a rearview/sideview mirror!!!!!

Never heard of that for gt5. Any source? I know you can do that with Formula One Championship Edition for PS3, and remote play to the psp.
