Nec Introduces New Wide-screen LCD Desktop Displays to the AccuSync Product Family

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading stand-alone provider of commercial and residential LCD, plasma, and projector displays, announced today the addition of three new wide-screen desktop displays to the popular AccuSync line, targeted to small- to medium-sized businesses, direct marketers, home office workers, system builders, and retail channels. The 19-inch ASLCD194WXM and the 22-inch ASLCD224WXM displays replace the previous generation wide products, while the 17-inch ASLCD174WXM is a new addition to this category. Each is a multimedia product, and the displays are enhanced with a new, sleek, thin design. All models are touch-integration compatible.

"The new AccuSync wide-screen products continue to deliver the quality of the NEC brand while remaining price competitive," said Andrew Anderson, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions. "The three displays feature NEC's exclusive ECO Mode, an easily selectable, power-reducing setting, which reduces brightness and cuts energy costs by 30 percent."

The three new displays, all sporting black cabinets, have the following key features:
  • Native resolution of 1440 x 900 for the ASLCD174WXM and ASLCD194WXM, and 1680 x 1050 for the ASLCD224WXM
  • Brightness at 250 cd/m² for the 17-inch model, and 300 cd/m² for the 19-inch and 22-inch displays
  • Contrast ratio of 800:1 for the ASLCD174WXM, 1000:1 for the ASLCD194WXM and 900:1 for ASLCD224WXM
  • ECO Mode, NEC's onscreen feature that allows users to reduce brightness and lower power consumption by 30 percent
  • Exceptional wide-screen performance
  • Sleek, thin bezel
  • Ambix dual-input technology
  • Rapid-Response technology (8-ms - black to black - for the ASLCD174WXM and 5-ms - black to black - for the ASLCD194WXM and the ASLCD224WXM), which delivers virtually uninterrupted, undistorted viewing of high-speed, full-motion video
  • Built-in multimedia speakers
  • NaViSet, which provides a graphical user interface that allows users to adjust On Screen Display (OSD) settings via mouse and keyboard
The AccuSync wide-screen displays are backed by 24-hour/day, seven-day/week customer service and technical support, and include a standard three-year warranty.

The models will be available in March 2008 with an estimated street price of $209.99 for the ASLCD174WXM, $229.99 for the ASLCD194WXM, and $329.99 for the ASLCD224WXM.

Awesome. Though Id like to hear about new bigger screen sizes from NEC, these are worthwhile. I love the touch sensitive deal they added as well. Nice prices too.

With Vista's scaleable desktop, it really is time that manufacturers moved to 19" hi def screens like 1920x1600.
