Wow, "AMD GAME!". AMD is going to have to work a lot harder at branding that concept. It's hardly like anybody (esp. in the high street) has heard of "AMD GAME!" in the same way they have heard about "Intel Inside". It does (yet) provide and overtones of quality or super-dooper-awesomeness.

In fact, given that AMD has been a poor performer and got a lot of flak for it over the last 12 months, then the label "AMD GAME!" is *not* brand enhancing at all. Quite the reverse!

It sounds to me like AMD Game! is more competing with Nvidia SLI Certified/ESA Certified. I'm not seeing it really catching on like ESA has already started to, but good luck to them anyway; Thermaltake is a pretty decent start...

Hard to believe that the company started out with just heatsinks. I remember the Orb series quite well. I had a Volcano 7 when it came out, one of the first heatsinks with an 80mm fan.

I have their TMG-AT1 cooling my X1900XT. Very nice stock looking heatsink that is quiet and effective in cooling.

Although I would have rather AMD aimed more towards the mid to high end of Mfgrs. Its cool to see them try something new.
Im still hanging with AMD..

I have heard a few good things about their higher end PSs though

AMD "Game" is so boring! I kind of like "The way it's meant to be gamed"!!!:D That sounds oddly familiar to me though...

I have run UT2004 & UT3 on it. but obviously at lower settings for UT3 the X1600MR in my lappy cant handle it lol - CoD4 even though i have the game i wont even waste my time attempting it.

other games played are CoH & Oblivion

::EDIT::

as far as i have seen - all Core Duo laptops are still being sold by the likes of Comet, Dixons, Pc world & possibly a few other more places. usually on some sort of offer or on clearance.

theres still a few Yonah & Merom cores out there in the world

Well, if this is the start of a marketing campaing on AMD/ATIs part - it's long overdue, and they'll be in for a rough ride pushing it, considering the compoetition.

AMD GAME! has been around a while, but this is the first bit I've seen where they're trying to start tying it in with hardware manufacturers - hopefully game developers will be next.

Pretty awesome concept. They should also emphasize the value part as well.

Thinking about it, this is from the AMD newsletter discussions and surveys you take. Well, the AMD Insight deal that is.

Centriono=platform with a Intel CPU, Intel chipset, and Intel Mobility capability=aka Wifi etc.

Nothing special about the Centrino Term.
