Samsungs own 30" raw lcd panel is spec'ed at 1000 with 8ms grey. The initial Dell 30" release will (according to Samsung engineering) more than likely be an LG panel, same as in the Apple. This info is current as of today from the Samsung engineering team that produces and supplies the lcd raw panels to Dell and other manufacturers. It is also possible that later on, some Samsung 30" panels may show up in the same 3007 monitor as the current LG panels without a spec change since Dell has to go with the lowest spec of the possible variations of the included raw panel used, but the initial supply will NOT be Samsung, again according to Samsung reps. Whether Dell is under specing the LG 30" panel as they did with the 2405fpw is unknown at the present time. The Samsung 30" Monitor for retail is still up in the air and will probably take a cue from the Dell 3007 sales as far as when and how much production, but it is clear that it probably has a better spec than the LG/3007.
Hi everyone!
It's my first time here and, predictably, I'm coming cap-in-hand! :(
I have just ordered from Dell a 3007WFP 30" wide screen monitor (native resolution 2560x1600) - my brother got me a -46% discount, making the price £780 (fantastic!).
My graphics card is a Powercolor Radeon x850XL 256MB (VIVO, dual display etc etc) - I'm sure you know all about this card.
What I'm worried about is that the card won't be able to run the monitor at its native resolution! I really would hate to see stretched pixels on my new hideously expensive monitor!
I see from the published specs of the x850 chipset that its max res. is 2048x1536 but it also says "complete list of resolutions depends on the driver version and operating system."
I am really hoping that the wonderful Omega drivers might allow the card to drive the 3007WFP properly...
Can anyone shed light on this? I'm in a bit of a panic!
Thanks loads in advance
