ViewSonic Comes up with 3D FuHzion 22-inch LCD Monitor and Portable Projector

Briefly mentioned in the NVIDIA 3D Vision news here was the name of ViewSonic, and that it has got 3D monitors running. That's exactly how things are and ViewSonic is not only launching a 22-inch 3D display today, but it is also presenting a portable 3D projector. Both products are part of ViewSonic's new and oddly spelled FuHzion line-up for three dimensional display devices. More information follows below.

VX2265wm, 120Hz desktop LCD monitor

The 22-inch, 120Hz desktop LCD monitor produces rich, colorful, blur-free video for traditional 2D gaming, entertainment and graphic applications, while also delivering stereoscopic 3D when used with the new NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision stereoscopic active shutter glasses for the home. The NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision glasses, compatible with more than 350 existing entertainment titles, makes the VX2265wm a perfect match to deliver immersive, ultra-realistic PC gaming experiences.

In addition to the 120Hz frame rate support, the VX2265wm offers a 2ms video response time to remove virtually all motion artifacts and ghosting. Its 1680x1050 HD resolution allows users to further enjoy fast-action games, and built-in HDCP support provides the ability to view high-definition video content. The monitor is Windows Vista certified and coupled with SRS WOW HD sound technology, invisible stereo speakers and has a sleek black design.

"ViewSonic's heritage in providing high-quality visual display solutions and commitment to emerging technologies was an obvious choice to showcase the NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision stereoscopic glasses solution," said Ujesh Desai, vice president of GPU business at NVIDIA. "Jointly, we are helping to further the growth of truly 3D home entertainment."

The VX2265wm has an MSRP of $399 and will be available in January 2009.

PJD6220-3D, portable 3D-ready DLP projector

The PJD6220-3D is a portable, lightweight DLP projector and is 3D-ready for PC content, allowing consumers to watch high-quality 3D at home at a fraction of the price. With 2200 lumen output, it creates large format stereoscopic 3D at an unprecedented level of price and performance. Cinemas across the world rely on DLP technology to create an immersive 3D experience in the movie theater, and now ViewSonic is one of the first to create a 3D projector for the home.

The PJD6220-3D supports up to the native 1024 x 768 resolution at a true 120Hz frame rate. A bright, professional-level 3D projector, the product can easily display up to 25 ft (diagonal 3D) high-definition images. Advanced DLP technology with BrilliantColorTM provides stunning, vibrant colors on screen. The PJD6220-3D also offers a 2000:1 contrast ratio and an integrated 10W audio system to complete an immersive, blur-free 3D gaming experience.

"The DLP chip is the best option to deliver superior 3D as it has the fastest response rate of any available imaging technology for producing blur-free images at an unprecedented rate," said Doug Darrow, brand and marketing manager of Texas Instruments DLP. "We're excited to have ViewSonic as one of the first projection manufacturers to bring the third dimension from the movie theater to the living room."

The PJD6220-3D has an MSRP of $1,499 and will be available in February 2009.

I wonder if this is going to be better than the Zalman 3D monitor. My mom spent way to much money on one and wasted it all.

While it's nice to see 120Hz and PC monitor in one sentence more often, can someone answer if any of those are confirmed to accept 120Hz input or if it's the same story as with the TVs?
