These are basically still just SATA drives right?

Can you use them in a normal PC or are their connectors too close together to facilitate standard connections?

And if so, is anyone making a simple adapter?

I'm pretty sure it's a PCIe 1x interface. It uses a SATA controller on-board so as to use SATA drivers in the OS.

that's why you could mod them inside a normal Laptop swap out w-lan and use this instead

then you might add a usb stick cracked open and soldered to the pci-e mini inside you'r laptop and hardwire the old switch to the +5V USB ont that usb stick.

i am still waiting for n draft usb stick which pcb is small and i can solder a antenna on ;-P

If you have a PCIe 1x slot, you can.

Actually, depending on the price, that's not a half bad idea.

but will it fit a pci-e x1 slot on a normal mobo? i don't think so as this is for mini pci-e and building a adaptor card wich hast pci-1x to express on it might be time consuming thus it's easier to wait for pci-x cards for normal desktop pc wich feature 54mm express card slot and then put in pci-expresscard SLOT SSD wich uses the pci-e interface (not those el cheapos on usb)
