The Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 was a mobile processor with 2 cores, launched in June 2008, at an MSRP of $209. It is part of the Core 2 Duo lineup, using the Penryn architecture with Socket P. Core 2 Duo P8400 has 3 MB of L2 cache and operates at 2.267 GHz. Intel is building the Core 2 Duo P8400 on a 45 nm production process using 274 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Core 2 Duo P8400, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 25 W, the Core 2 Duo P8400 consumes only little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR2 and DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface. For communication with other components in the machine, Core 2 Duo P8400 uses a PCI-Express N/A connection. Hardware virtualization is available on the Core 2 Duo P8400, which greatly improves virtual machine performance.
