The Intel Core 2 Quad Q9100 was a mobile processor with 4 cores, launched in August 2008. It is part of the Core 2 Quad lineup, using the Penryn QC architecture with Socket P. To further increase overall system performance, up to two Core 2 Quad Q9100 CPUs can link up in a multi-processor (SMP) configuration. Core 2 Quad Q9100 has 6 MB of L2 cache and operates at 2.267 GHz. Intel is building the Core 2 Quad Q9100 on a 45 nm production process, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Core 2 Quad Q9100, which limits its overclocking capabilities. With a TDP of 45 W, the Core 2 Quad Q9100 consumes typical power levels for a modern PC. Hardware virtualization is available on the Core 2 Quad Q9100, which greatly improves virtual machine performance.
