The Intel Xeon E3-1220L v2 is a server/workstation processor with 2 cores, launched in May 2012. It is part of the Xeon E3 lineup, using the Ivy Bridge architecture with Socket 1155. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 4 threads. Xeon E3-1220L v2 has 8 MB of L3 cache and operates at 2.3 GHz by default, but can boost up to 3.5 GHz, depending on the workload. Intel is making the Xeon E3-1220L v2 on a 22 nm production node, the transistor count is unknown. The multiplier is locked on Xeon E3-1220L v2, which limits its overclocking potential.
With a TDP of 17 W, the Xeon E3-1220L v2 consumes very little energy. Intel's processor supports DDR3 memory with a dual-channel interface.
