The Intel Pentium 4 2.4 was a desktop processor with 1 core, launched in May 2002. It is part of the Pentium 4 lineup, using the Northwood architecture with Socket 478. Pentium 4 2.4 has 512 KB of L2 cache and operates at 2.4 GHz. Intel is building the Pentium 4 2.4 on a 130 nm production process using 55 million transistors. The multiplier is locked on Pentium 4 2.4, which limits its overclocking capabilities.
With a TDP of 92 W, the Pentium 4 2.4 consumes a good deal of power, so decent cooling is needed. Intel's processor supports DDR1 and DDR2 memory. Although the processor doesn't come with integrated graphics, certain motherboards with compatible chipsets can provide this capability.
Neither SSE3 nor SSE4 instruction sets are supported, which will lead to problems with games not starting.
