Oh but you forget about this beast. 2D voltage is 1.1250V and 3D idle is 1.1875V, with stock cooler difference was 10C+
With the new cooler probably about 5C difference, but with 2D clocks this card would consume less than my previous 9800GTX+.
Anyways, I payed for the card, I want it to work like it's meant to *pokes nvidia*
Damn, yeah most likely my smaller difference is because I run a stock 1.06v for 3d/Extra and 1.05v for 2d. Not much voltage change, and the clocks being dropped from 666/1458 1200 to 300/400 100 doesn't seem to do too much...not nearly as much as I would've expected. Even on my 192sp 260 were the temps that different betweem 3d idle and 2d idle...and that was 1.12 for 3d/extra and 1.08 (iirc) for 2d.
Though idle amperage draw doesn't seem to drop much more between 2d and 3d idle, maybe 1 amp or so...I might have to monitor that a tad more. One thing I noticed even on drivers that didn't drop the clocks correctly, they would at first boot before a 3d app was loaded, which means it could be monitored in GPU-z and Precision, as soon as a game, bench, anything that needed 3d/extra clocks, then it would stay pegged out on full oc clocks from that point till restart.
You could always make a profile that uses 2d clocks in precision, though we both know that won't get you quite where you want to be...if they can just add a 5th slider for the damn voltage in precision itself so each profile stores gpu clocks / shaders / memory / fan / gpu vddc we'd be set!
EDIT: Anyone have any luck finding the AC Accellero XTreme GTX280 cooler in the US yet? Any kind of ETA for arrival to the states?
