Esban the old uncle dragon bro. Does anyone else have a problem with him? He speaks WAY to fast. So fast infact that after the first word of his sentence you can no longer hear him. his lips continue to move rapidly and then the convo is over or The question menu pops up. Turning subtitles on didnt make it any better. the workds move to fast they keep up with how he talks! I feel like im missing alot of this part of the story line. Because after looking dumfounded I just go were the arrow points me. Can I hit him with a frying pan or an ingot? anything to slow him down a bit? I dont want to do anything with the legs. He moves slow enough.

BUG: in the quest "The Cornered Rat" you'll find Esbern behind a closed door. When you interact with the door it will start a conversation with Esbern where he is ultimately suppose to open the door and let you in. The problem is that his dialog is bugged and his voice doesnt play causing his text to scroll past very quickly, then after the dialog, he doesn't open the door.

SOLUTION: In your install directory there is a file "\Data\Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa". You need to download the BSA Unpacker tool made for Morrowind. It will still work properly for the Skyrim BSA files. Use it ant extract the contents of that BSA to the same directory that the BSA file is. You'll end up extracting the files and they'll be placed in the directory "Data\sound\voice\skyrim.esm\maleuniqueesbern". After that, you're done. Just start the game up and try again.

what screenshots are you even talking about,

if its the ones i posted a bit ago showing whiterun from the top of the guard tower that wasnt showcasing changes it was just showcasing what i had found to be the best overall graphical fidelity to performance hit, way way back cant remember how many pages i did show some screenshots in GIF format that show ugrid changes by itself but no other tweaks.

alright just tested using ugrid 9 as the base

7000 to 14,000 showed large draw distance jump

14000 - 21000 showed a very small increase but its there,

21000 - 28000 showed no difference dropping to 24000 i see no change upping to Ugrid 11 very minor change but at that point i can barely make out the grass from the textures, on the landmass itself,

setting grass to 28000 had no impact on overall performance so even if you dont see it scaling outwards it will not effect framerate or stability.

setting Ugrid 7 instead of 9 seems that somewhere between 14000-21000 is where i hit the line render wise with uGrid values.

I think Ill add this to the back burner for more testing...

currently im messing with shadow split count, trying to figure out exactly what it does. supposedly upping shadow split count should in theory help increase shadow quality up close while allowing shadows far off, but it dosent seem to do anything at the moment,

crazyeyesreaper you're going on quite a tangent there already. All you have said were things you were doing, and you're trying to apply them on what you think should have been happening to me. Which I doubt would happen unless we have the same (or at least of the "similar level of performance") specs. And it all started with the post I have with MY screenshots where it was set at uGrids 7 all throughout, i.e. THERE WERE NO CHANGES WITH UGRID SETTINGS AT ALL yet you come up with the "its that depending on what uGrid settings you have certain other aspects wont push past it" line.


And your...um..."unorthodox" way of typing and outlining your thoughts in a post, or at least what one can call an attempt to do so, doesn't help. At all. It actually hinders people in their understanding of what you're trying to say. You're worse than the Jarl of Riften's court wizard (who happens to be an alchemist).

Yes, the heavy armor you're wearing will absorb more damage for 60 seconds. This may come in handy using during a battle or something.

Meaning the "heavy armor Skill" increase (+10 in this case) also boosts your armor value?
Then this also means that someone who's got say 80 in Heavy Armor has more Armor value than someone's who 40 (for instance) ?

Armor in general absorbs damage. If the armor your are wearing has a value of 40, the potion will make it 50 for 60 seconds.

Hi guys. Sikaning Game. Im wondering if u guys can help me. Im doing the quest "Diplomatic Immunity" and i need to give malborn sum weapons but i dont know how to. Is there sumthin im doing wrong and/or have to do? This is what happens....
First,
Our mutual friend sent me. ( i click on this)
Then these 3 options,
1) What kinds of this should i bring.
2) Hold on i need to get a few things.
3) Im ready. Heres what ill need. (i click on this)

Then i get a screen like this and i cant seem to give him anything.

Hmm scroll down and go to your stuff? Or you did that? You go down to your stuff and then hit R to give it to him.

Go to the items you want to give IN YOUR INVENTORY. Right now, in that screenshot, you're looking at the elf's inventory. Obviously you can only give items you have if you're looking at YOUR inventory. Give him your weapon/s (only the ones you need for the duration of that portion of the quest), armor (the items you will be wearing for that part of the quest), and potions (just potions you need in a fight - no need to bring some haggling potions now, is there?).

Since this is a Havok based game, should it run better on Ati card since they are designed with Havok Physx in mind, and if so do you find that statement to be true.

its using cpu physics, not gpu physics afaik, just like how nVidia PhysX can be implemented in the CPU

Are you sure ATI cards are made to run Havok Physx. Like the Wii and I believe the Xbox 360 use it aswell.

Performance of AMD cards are hurting actually due to the drivers. Well not really "hurting", more of "a lot more could be done but aren't being done."

Nvidia's beta driver for example doubled FPS.
