Bahaha these dropped for me somewhere, I've never seen such an outfit in the Souls series apparently it was in the first dark souls.

Bought it and having fun, good game. Just entered Iron Keep, I'm playing the game patiently.. 1 boss/area at a time.. not try to overdo it like the first game where I eventually lost interest and just watched the rest of the game on youtube, the fact that I was playing it offline on my xbox didn't help also. ;)

I'm playing online on DS2 and it's a blast, even if you're not directly interacting with people all the time, it's fine to make and read messages around the world, people get creative on that limited message system, also watching other people's deaths gives me good laughs as well.. those silly falling deaths

Did i get hacked? I was AFK speaking to wife and when i came back, the lift in the castle was in use. I watched as a guy bathed in red with a player charcter name with 'RUS' as a suffix came up to me and started attacking me. Before i knew it I was dead (and had now run out of effigy's). I didn't know you can be a victim of PvP in this game? Guy was a tool anyway, Russian jerk. :slap:

Hahaha unfortunately that is the sad life of non-hollow players. Best find your self one of these http://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Ring of Life Protection#.U2BJwFfBzb9 it will essentially give you infinite human effigies as if the ring breaks from when you die you can just repair it for 3000 souls and if some russian tool invades you again you won't have to retrieve your souls afterwards as they stay with you even in death.

wow thanks for the tip, I have that ring but I'm not sure on how the "breaking" function works, I thought the ring will break and disappear, like a one time only use, didn't know you can repair it

Its hard to do on my f710 as well as the buttons arent as responsive and easy to press as the 360 or ps4 controller.. might try my ps4 controller tonight to see how that goes, not a fan of using wired gamepads tho

maybe the command recognition window is too tight and the nature of the Logitech F series pads make it a lil worse.

Could you sub a harsher word than 'jerk'? People swear way more than me and a colloquial usage of a gender preference referencing slur, i accept may be' offensive' to some. But 'jerk' doesn't really convey enough emotion. :)

But on the game front - I GIVE UP.

I've killed the Last Giant and the Pursuer dude. Now I've tried both the Rat Vanguard and the Ruin Sentinels. Give me a break, this is where Unforgiving becomes just plain stupid.
The shitty contact physics mean i keep getting hemmed in by rats and the targeting system sometimes likes to detect random targets you're not looking at. As for the Ruin Sentinel, watched an online guide, tried it myself and hey presto - fucking impossible - excuse the language - it's required to express difficulty.

I'll now probably uninstall it, I can't see anyway to get by these uber foes. I've cleared every creature (into oblivion - they no longer spawn) up to the Ruin Sentinels without dying more than a couple of times (again, mainly due to contact physics and game mechanics) but to do all that clearing only to have the difficulty jump such a degree has broken the game for me.

I'm even wearing Drangelic Armor I found and some kick as bastard/great swords (including leveling up to use the Drangelic Sword). But no... some big rats kick crap out me and the Sentinel kills me in 3 hits, despite a huge shield or dodging.

Was loving this game up to now.
:banghead:

UPDATE:

Killed the rats - my armour was too heavy. Changed top my Falconer armour and got by. Had to use Poison Moss too.

Ruin sentinels are one of the most easiest bosses in the game, you just have to learn the patterns. the attacks are not entirely random.

The first sentinel is on the left after you drop.. just keep moving right towards his back(stick to him as close as you can and circle around him) and try to block his attacks(equip a shield because rolling is a bit harder)

hit it when it is recovering from a heavy attack or combo. 1 or 2 should be fine... then if it falls off the ledge, it will come back. there are two possible jumping back attacks it can do.. depending on which side it fell it will jump in that area only(where he fell). so move as far as possible from where he fell.

First one dead. now two of them will go to you. Jump back down to the bigger area(you will lose some health but you will survive) and kite the two sentinels around.. Bait both of them to attack so both will recover at the same time, hit 1 or 2 at any sentinel and retreat, keep doing it, be patient.. after 1 is down, the last 1 is pretty much easy.

There's alot more harder bosses in the game though. so beware

i found that too thats why i posted the game progress route you have to finish heide castle and no mans wharf before you go to that place, the game gives no directions at all haha leading players into places they shouldnt be in

Your premise though is incorrect. Bindings are not bound to engine. If that was the case then you're saying a game that implements keyboard and controller controls runs two engines or an engine that is specifically designed to allow both? That's not how it works.

I'm happy that we will be able to mod and fix what From was too lazy to do. They knew that controls were bad in DS1 and did not devote the resources to allowing in depth binding of them. The benefit to PC gaming is that I have the option to use a controller or keyboard depending on what I prefer not what I need to use because of lack of coding motivation.
Actually he IS correct, but the use of the word "engine" is somewhat deceiving. It's not the engine per se that the controls are bound to, but rather the gameplay itself. You NEED to have a stick of some sort to do the whole "circle around your enemy" thing properly when locked on and you CAN'T play without using the lock-on at all. I know that at first glance it would make sense to simply do it like any other 3rd person action game where the camera is fixed behind your back by default and you simply turn the character with the mouse and pummel at whatever is in front of you, but take a more careful look at how the fights are designed and you'll see that just ain't their intention. It is far from a perfect system, but in its very imperfection it allows for a lot more creativity than all other action RPGS I've played (I've kinda played all better ones from the mid-nineties till now lol).
Btw if you want to play the "PC Dark Souls", check out the first Drakan game - pretty old by now, but still worth it ;)

But why would WASD not function in a similar manner with a key for lock-on? Turning WASD into the same config as the left joystick seems like it would work. And the use of the word engine is definitely not correct. The gameplay itself may be more suited to a controller but there is nothing stopping the developers from just allowing us to reconfigure things more in-depth. An engine based prohibition would deny any change as the very foundation of the code prohibits the developers from changing much... that's not the case here. That said, I have now figured out how to use my DualShock 3 controller on my PC. I've enjoyed the game so much more because of that but I still wish I had the option to try a fully customized K&M set up.

Im surprised that my ~5+ year old system can run this game at max settings 1920x1080. They really optimized the hell out of this thing it looks great.
