OFFICIAL GTA V (Discussion)

That's a really big overage. Is it not tanking your framerate?
Nope. It has never dipped below 60 FPS. The game is really well optimized. Its amazing.

Yeah, that is amazing! :)

I'm honestly surprised at how well it runs! 2560x1080 and im getting 60 fps most of the time at high

I am turning some settings down after playing a while I feel a bit seasick, and activating that Shadowplay FPS counter! thanks!

I remember Rockstar saying a while back that they intended to make GTA V run well for as many people as possible. It's looking like they came through.

I am trying to find that sweet spot at 2560×1440, 100fps @ 100Hz with two 290x GPUs.

DICE should take note. GTA V is how you release a AAA title on the PC. Runs like a raped date and is as stable as a 5 legged table.

I have this wonderful thing called a driver, which once I click optimize once, worked fine and gave me a constant 60FPS?

So not interested in tweaking this one.

Then you miss the "cinematics". LoL. Funny to see an AMD user tell an Nvidia user what settings to tweak. Not that it's a bad thing. Might be interesting to see the differences in memory usage in the different GPU designs, but I doubt it's that significant.
What do you mean cinematics? Yeah, I'm using Nvidia currently. I'll give the Nvidia experience thing a shot.. but with my current settings I'm always above 60 fps and things look great.. though I kinda injured my eye yesterday, I might be half blind. lol.

Thats why you need a towel when you fap laying down. One shot to the eye and your done!.........So I've heard.

Up the settings, use the in-game FPS lock to a lower FPS, works fine for me.

Everyone is going to have different levels of what's "acceptable". I'm a fan of clicking "optimize", and then forgetting about it. I have the FPS counter in ShadowPlay enabled, otherwise I wouldn't know.

The whole GeForce Experience offering has been pretty good at choosing good settings for games for me, it just sucks when they don't support a game.
Yea, I let GeForce Experience this morning optimize my settings (I didn't get to play, but I wanted too! lol). It wouldn't let me last night, because I hadn't started the game which creates the ini file. I like the new optimize feature. It turn everything up. So, I'm really wanting to get back to the hotel and try it out.

I wish it was that. I got a small speck of undercoating in my eye and it's the worst.

wow, despite having so-so GPU, im running it on fluid framerates high-very high then again, i only have 1600 x 900 monitor so i was able to extract more performance
I take it you mean the 3570k you have listed in your spec chart? If so, that is certainly better than my i7 950. I'm a bit worried my 950 will cause me to have to lower settings.

I've heard one person say graphics are not all that good, and he has pretty high spec. Can you guys post up some screens? How does it compare to the pristine screens that were posted pre launch?

Wow! You wash it out with water and follow it up with some Visine?

I was spraying popcorn on a ceiling a few years back and a damn particle broke physics and went around my glasses and right into my eye. I dunno what was more annoying the pain or Reayth laughing in my blind face.

So, far to me the game looks amazing. At night in the city is by far my favorite so far. Someone said it doesn't look as good as BF4 and I have to disagree. The level of detail is what stands out for me.

Its smokes BF4 in so many ways. Size alone is worth the price and that me saying this. A BF junkie.

The DOF is used for "cinematic effect" quite often, and quite effectively, too. You have a monitor that goes over 60. I do not, so don't care. Your card is slower than mine anyway, and I'm running two cards right now. So if you get 60 FPS, it's definitely not an issue for me.

The whole having to train your dog outside of the game proper is HILARIOUS.

Runs decent on my 6850, only thing holding me back is the 1gb of vram. Textures and that are just getting too big for a 1gb card these days. Other than that at normal with one or 2 high settings im getting frame rate in the low 50s, some parts drops to 40s and indoors it spikes massive. As far as i can see it looks comparative to the ps4 xbone versions.

Still not a fan of the FPS view, from my experience it just acts like a camera view change it doesn't play like a tight FPS game.

What surprised me was that the driving physics and animations are a bit better, i can't remember if when i played the PS4 version it was like this but yeah compared to the 360 version i have PC port has had more than just a graphics upgrade.

I noticed Green Man Gaming has a coupon to get GTA V for about $45. Has anyone gotten it from them? I heard they are really slow to deliver sometimes, but I gotta think Rockstar has the funding to have made tons of copies, so hopefully availability is good.

I'm with you man I own every bf pc game. But really I've not touched BF4 in over 9 months. But yea man the size alone is crazy. Plus, everything happening all around you adds to graphics and feel to me.

Me on the night of launch! I payed GMG about that price with a discount code. Then you get instantly an email with a link from them. You download an installer from Rockstar and then the download is from R*. It took me 3+ hours.

So i have GTA V retail with the 7 disks. The disks won't read on two of my machines, it will read on a third, but I'd rather not have it on that machine AND it reads slow, with the disk in the drive its very unresponsive, almost like the disk is garbage.

I could make ISOs of the disks but I have read online that even if it does install from disk, there are errors on the disk 1 portion of install.

I entered the cd key into rockstar's site to download it, but the download speed went from the initial 8mb/s all the way to 22kbs. Is it my ISP throttling or is it rockstar? This is enfuriating because at this rate I might not have it downloaded for another day!

WTF?

Is it rockstar's server ?

Should I keep trying to install with the disks (make images) or will that install bug out, or require a massive patch download?

Blah.

All the coupons I used for Greenman did not work & I tried many, but I did manage to get the game for $46.79 in the VIP section of the website.

$46.79 USD- You have to log in with an account.

Reayth and I played it about a week ago.......I uninstalled it soon after. Battlelog was 100% dead. No one from TPU was playing. The game just felt old and bland.

Yeah, just had to deal with over a year of people crying about it. It's easy to say in hind sight, but all they get is shit the entire time it's pushed back. After I played the PS4 version I knew they were doing it right, but anyone who hadn't seen how good of a job they did bringing it up from the dumpy first version just seemed to complain and compare it to GTA IV release.

That's good to know, because I was going to load it up on my new itx build. Now I know I won't.. Plus, GTA V is going to eat up all of my spare time.. lol I was playing Evolve until this came out and now that it has I probably won't play that again either.. lol I just hope now that Dice takes notice of this game, and releases Battlefront like this and makes it the AAA title it should be.

Also, everybody!
