GTA V suddenly decided to set a lower and windowed resolution while I was playing, nothing bad since I could change it back as it was before but this never happened before. I have set some commandline parameters now in the file commandline.txt, -fullscreen -width 1920 -height 1080 hope it will not happen again.

Had anyone else this happening before?

not during gameplay, but on launch i have noticed either fullscreen disabled, settings in graphics changed, etc... I was even benned from online play (which i never play) because i had some mods installed, and I launched Gta ,and during start-up i went to have a smoke...when i got inside, i noticed it was running online mode, so i paused immediately, and loaded story mode, but that evening i got an email saying i was banned from online play.apparently several settings can change on they're own, atleast they have for me, and were changed the last time i played a week or so ago as well. I have no idea the cause, but I am the only user on this PC, of this gta5.

Fail.... another ONLINE only update.

Theres still not a place in single player to go sell my stolen ride in a game named GRAND THEFT AUTO. (I know theres a place in online)

Good things mods are basically finishing the game that Rockstar did not even bother completing.

List of mods currently in use:

Body Guard Squads - Abillity to spawn up to 4 squads that will follow you around and protect you. (Helicopters squads are included)

Premium Deluxe Motorshop - Ability to buy any car in game at a local in game shop and drive it away from the shop.

Sell your stolen cars - Ability to sell your stolen car, (Sold at the same place you buy cars above)

FOV Mod - increased field of view range from 68 degrees to 70 degrees

Suspension Mod - Ability to lower cars suspension at will.

Single Player Garage - Ability to store collections of cars in various custom locations around LS.

Hitman Mod - Gives you a random hitman contract. (Chance to get 3 stars, chance that you will be ambushed upon arrival)

70% of in game cars replaced with real life versions.

Menyoo Trainer - 100s of features included in this trainer

Custom AI Driving Mod - AI drivers drive at a higher speed overall, take turns quicker, and drive at a higher speed on the highway.

Imprompt to racing - Ability to challenge any driver you see to a race. (Abillity to define path of the race, ability to bet the challenger)

Open All Interiors - Ability to enter any interior of buildings used in the campaign/story mode.

Currently have all the above mods in use, and the game is running STABLE with all of them.

Just because Online is getting somewhat regular updates doesn't mean it isn't horribly fucked up...

Man, it's hard to run it on a 1GB card, at stock (low) settings it uses 95% of vram...

what card is it? if its the one in your specs im sure the 1Gb of vram isnt helping, but that chip is likely a worse hit. I use a 6950 1Gb Especially since my 7870 died...and i have zero issues( above those expected from a dated 1 Gb GPU of course)...try tweaking in CCC, because your card shouldn't be TOO much different to mine as far as in game performance results.

Well, it's working between 23 and 38fps with high shaders and shadows, depending of the scene, so I'm not complaining about performance (the 1440x900 resolution helps a lot).
The problem is the textures in "normal" quality, they are Ugly, but pushing "high" textures raises de VRAM to 1,8GB (acording to the in game bar), causing stuttering when using my old Phenom II IMC to handle the excess.

Maybe I should try to oc the system RAM to 1800-1900MHz, and the CPU-NB to 2600-2800MHz, as far as the IMC can go.
Imagine if we had modular GPUs, you could buy whatever VRAM you can.

Was getting the same error last night.

If your trying to play single player you can always disable yor Internet and bypass social club.

i launched it fine on 2 PC's last night after it DL'd the update..now you got me worried, lemme see if it is still okay.

yeah man, you could just run a VM and install GTA5 to it if You JUST cant wait hopefully they get it resolved though

Yeah I doubt it has anything to do with the OS. I'm on Windows 7 and i was getting the error last night. Not that I actually wanted to play... The updated version of Script Hook V was released this morning to work with the latest patch! Woo, even better too, theres already mods out to include these new Online only vehicles in single player. (Amazing it requires a mod to add content to single player that Rockstar added! FAIL!)

i uninstalled the native trainer last night before the update took place, which required me to remove the ScripthookV.dll-NativeTrainer.asi-dinput8.dll... i wonder if that might help?it just seems odd that with the same build, Some Pc's wont run, and some will, unless its a regional server thing.

Yeah I also removed the trainer before the update, right after the GTA V update the game was running without the trainer.
Today I installed the latest trainer then the social club sign in problem started, removed the trainer files and it still would not start.

hmmm......me thinks one thing is for certain...this problem will be solved by a mind more greatliest than my own.

You're using trainers... That's why your game isn't working. Perhaps uninstalling it doesn't get rid of everything. I'm on Windows 8.1 and it's working fine.

@jboydgolfer is using the trainer as well and he said and showed it's working!
The trainer is just 3 files: ScriptHookV.dll, dinput8.dll and NativeTrainer.asi and once you have run the game there are 2 logfiles created, I removed all 5 files and the game still would not start.

could these 2 log files You speak of cause me to be "banned" or have issue with Cockstar? if so could You tell me where to locate them so i can remove them please? i Do not have the steam version if that matters.

These 2 logfiles are created in the Grand Theft Auto V directory, the files are asiloader.log and ScriptHookV.log

Hopefully you didn't get banned with the update. That's when R* generally tends to issue bans.

I never played online, I only play offline in storymode.
+ this trainer won't let you start online.

I as well Only play story mode, except when settings where changed ,and online mode loaded automatically, and Rock* banned me for 2 weeks from online play...but IMO its BS(but i understand why i was banned), becasue my settings change often on they're own with gta5, from graphics, to resolution, to fullscreen/windowed mode, and I KNOW for a fact i didnt set it to load online by default, so it wasn't my fault...but in the end i couldn't have cared less, since i literally have never played online, except for the amount of time my game loaded into it, when i was having a cigarette. IMO, and keep in mind im older, once i buy a game i feel that it is my property, and to an extent i can do with it what i wish, weather that be mod it, play it how i wish, throw it out the window etc...i CAN understand why modding online gameplay is monitored, and discouraged by developers, but I sort of miss the "old days" when "multiplayer" meant you were standing next to your opponent, and a BIT more accountability was present...plus people used to mouth off FAR less back then.back on topic** but i wish that there was a setting, or seperate executable for online, and story/local modes...maybe that would stop mistakes , and issues like the one i had.

I am able to get into Social Club, and I have many mods installed... Single player is working fine for me with no errors. GTA Online - No idea... don't play it.
