~36 Million Games Sold (no free weekend games or free to play games counted in this report)
Average Price $5.83
Average Discount ~53%

L4D2 and Skyrim were in the top ten which is not surprising to me.

Looking at the number of sales in November times the average price and going on what the industry claims that Valve takes 30% of the sale for themselves then Valve took in a gross profit of ~63 million dollars in November. Of course there's overhead and employees to run Steam so net profit would be less.

If number of pc gamers is more or less compared to other years over at least a decade...
If development effort (define it by yourself) of new pc games is stronger, same or lesser than previous years..
And Steam is not "everything" in the whole world.
So I don't know...

My problem is not the games it's being in the mood to actually play them. I own pretty much every AAA title that comes out and I put so little time into any of them. Hell I even built a new PC and even that doesn't drag me into a gaming session these days..

.I was SO excited for Fallout 4 and I may have put 4hrs total into it since release....Name any other recent title and I could probably give you the same answer...

Yep, CDPR reported a couple months ago they sold more copies of TW3 through their in-house GOG than through Steam and other platforms combined.

Yea, PC gaming is taking over everything since anyone can build a decent gaming PC for about $500-$600 now a days. Its good because it means we start to see more games that are not bad ports (Well except Arkham Knight).

I would never substitute my Pc for a console , even with a Mrs on my tail, a new Radeon and Core 1.7 still makes me make it happen lol....

Good to hear it isn't just me that isn't enthusiastic about newer games. NOTHING this gen has held my interest, yet my ps3 has seen steady use in the last year. Really says something about the quality of newer games.

No I'm not knocking the quality of games. GTA V. Witcher 3, Alien Isolation for example are great looking and great playing, Elite Dangerous is probably the the only game that really held my interest the longest but even that has lost me(Horizons of course I already have pre-ordered and that will get me back in space anyway)

Don't get me wrong it's not about quality it's about my motivation to play these great games. 2015 was a pretty good year for PC gaming as far as great titles

RCoon gives a pretty good synopsis of the top ten of what he feels are the best games of 2015 (that he has reviewed). Having played a number of these titles, I have to say PC game quality is very high. Additionally, we seem to have more of them than ever, and most are good! Anyway, it's worth a read!

it depends ... PC get some of the finest title (better looking also ), price is random ... thanks to de-materialized platform, consoles exclusive have their interest i.e.:Halo Bayonetta Lost Odyssey Magna Carta (i have nearly all of them and series except Halo 5 ) tho it would not make me ditch my PC for games for a console just for those games, i rather have all platform

PC gaming often mean: freedom of modding and a lot more possibility than console gaming, so for me that would be an aberration if PC gaming was dead
even more now that when i want to play comfortably installed in my sofa with a controller in my hand i do it on a PC instead of a console (or eventually on my phone with a Moga Pocket and PPSSPP + my whole PSP UMD collection on a 64gb card ...)
