Here's the installation instructions for differentsliauto:

1. Go to http://www.geforce.com/drivers and download the latest drivers (359.06) for your version of windows.
2. Go here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/25369515/nvlddmkm35906-vista-win7,8,81,64bit.rar
(This link assumes windows 7, 8, or 8.1 and this is 64 bit only, if you need the windows 10 version, see download links below).
3. Go here: https://github.com/EmberVulpix/DifferentSLIAuto/releases and download the 1.3 version of this package.
4. If you don't already have winrar installed, go here: http://www.rarlabs.com/download.htm and download the version of winrar for your system that is current and run the installer.
5. Unpack differentsliauto 1.3 to a folder of your choice (c:\diffsli13 for example).
6. Unpack the patched driver into the same folder you unpacked differentsliauto 1.3.
7. Run the official video driver installer you downloaded from nvidias' site and let it install the official drivers.
8. Once the official drivers are installed and the installer has finished, go back to where you unpacked differentsliauto 1.3 and you also have the patched nvlddmkm.sys.
9. Open a administrator level command prompt (hold down left-shift & right-click anywhere in the window (don't have any files high-lighted) and select 'open command window here'.
10. Run the 'Install.cmd' file, it should say 'success!' in green text at the bottom of the window if there were no errors.
11. Reboot your computer.
12. Go to your nvidia control panel and activate sli.

If after following these instructions you still can't get sli mode running, check the dev numbers on your video boards, if they don't match, you'll need to download this utility:

and change the dev numbers, WARNING, back up your video board bios first before making any changes, you can brick your video board with this utility, so be careful with it.

Hey Guys i need some help here.

I installed the patched driver from jbailey8 using the install.cmd that comes with differentsliauto. everything works fine and i can choose sli mode within the nvidia control panel.
as soon as i start 3d mark 11 the driver crashes giving me the following error text in 3d mark:

I run a GTX570 with 1280MB Vram and a GTX580 with 3072MB Vram together in SLI mode.

Mainboard is a Asus P5k Premium Wifi with 8GB Ram
CPU is a Q6600 @ 3.40Ghz

what am i doing wrong?

There's no option to do a repair install? that's strange, make sure you didn't get the driver versions mixed up between the official installer and the patched driver, at the moment I'm thinking your directx installation is corrupted and you need to do a repair install, not install a newer version. Unless you've mixed up driver versions, I know it's not the patched driver itself since I'm running it and it's running fine for me.
Make sure shadowplay is off, and it's also possible that 1 of your video boards is bad.

nope, no option for a repair install..

Both cards work perfect. I've tried them separately 5 minutes ago. 3d mark works with both cards, no matter if only one card is installed in the system or both cards are running with one doing the physix stuff.

the error only occurs when i try to benchmark in sli mode

if i use only one card there is no directx error.

if the directx installation was corrupted, there would also be an error using only one card or am i wrong?

i'm trying to test without the nvidia experience stuff enabled right now

You can bypass the red screen on chrome for example by clicking on "details" then "visit this site", you can then download normally, the problem is there are other bad files on gamefront and probably other sites too,
I can assure you that when I uploaded the patched file it was clean, but you should always scan any and all downloads just to be sure.

Turn off overclocking and see what happens when you ran 3dmark or a game.

I set the GPU and Mem clock to what was default for a non overclocked GTX 570 and 580.
Result: I still get the same error.

I will leave for a 2 week holiday tomorrow so i won't be able to test for 2 more weeks.

what do you think, can it be the different memory size of the two video cards or can it be the power supply?

Powersupply is rated 500w i know that this is not much, but system starts up fine with both cards installed and working in SLI

It could be the difference in memory sizes, "normal" sli won't function at all on 2 different boards, this patched driver gets around that to a fair degree but I can't guarantee stability on 2 different boards, you simply
take your chances and hope it works, your power supply is barely good enough, I'm running a 1000 watt power supply and 2 560's (same boards), I'd at least consider going to 750-800 watts if you can.
But something is stopping 1 of your boards in it's tracks, I seriously doubt it's the patched driver itself, that leaves other system driver(s) being corrupted, or the power supply could be having issues, this kind
of problem is hard to track down to 1 thing since a lot of different things can cause the same error.

i plan on switching to a brand new system next year so it is not that important to get sli to work. i'll just put the 570 in ebay and stick with the 580

If the sli profile for a game is incorrect then this driver will do nothing to improve performance, you'll need to adjust the profile to get better performance.

Hello, I am sorry for the noob questions but I am curious if using Defraggler would affect the SLI program at all. I am not entirely sure how these SLI programs works so I am not sure what will/won't change them. Thanks in advance!

If I'm thinking properly, defraggler is a disk defragmentation program, all it does is reorganize data, it won't affect the patched driver.

Thank you! I have been having audio issues lately after I put my cards in SLI and have exhausted all other options to fix it haha. Appreciate your responses.

Putting your cards in sli mode shouldn't have any effect on audio, I'd check your motherboard drivers and bios settings for that.
