I believe you can only sli cards of the same generation/series, 7xx or 9xx together with 7xx or 9xx only.

I don't see anything standing in the way.
Not being able to use an SLI bridge will put more load on the PCIe bus, but at least your x4 slot has PCIe v3, so the SLI scaling will not be too bad.
Still be prepared to disable SLI for some odd games, which put high load on the bus (worst offenders are some racing simulators I use, like RaceRoom, rfactor2, which send insane numbers of primitive draw commands over the bus)
is it normal if I play dota 2 without sli I get 120 fps with sli 70-80fps?

I don't know about DOTA 2 specifically, but there is a share of games which by design don't scale well or even don't support SLI at all and scale negatively.
Using SLI for these ultrafast online games is the wrong path to follow anyways, since what you want there is not high framerate per se but rather low latency.
SLI using one additional frame adds significantly to the latency, so in most cases you're better off without SLI.
i know that but i thought this program changes that in a certain way????
Nope, it just removes the checks which nVidia uses to limit SLI to the exact same GPU model and to a SLI certified mobo. It does not alter the the behavior of the driver itself, so the 'generation' restriction remains.

This thread is absolutely work, Nvidia 382.33 is mandatory for using on DifferentSLIauto 1.7, I success to use SLI on my GTX970s (inno3D + Galaxy), thanks everybody

I Can Confirm DifSliAuto Ver 1.7 Works on Windows 10 Pro with Nvidia 382.33, After combining different methods. Thank You To JameszZzz , Veiker, Pinkpanther and Many Others. Posted Below is the Complete method Combined all in one place for anyone who would like to try.

Download Version 1.7 And Veikers install file

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/differentsliauto1-7-zip.88372/

https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachments/install-rar.83099/

1. Disable UAC
2. Disable Virus software
3. Delete old Differentsli folder.
3. Open "run" certmgr.msc, delete all differentsliauto certs.
4. Boot into safe mode, run DDU, Display driver uninstaller.
5. After reboot run reg cleaner and ccleaner.
6. Install NVIDIA drivers clean install. reboot
7.Run cmd.exe as admin and enter:
bcdedit.exe /set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe /set NOINTEGRITYCHECKS ON
bcdedit.exe /set TESTSIGNING ON

8.Delete install in difsli folder, replace with Veikers install file located above.

9. Go to C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository sort by date and you'll find a recently created folder named nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4. Or whatever yours is named, Look for the newest 1.
Copy that text into your clipboard and in Veiker's install script replace the three instances of nv_dispi.inf_xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Still in that folder (nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4), copy nvlddmkm.sys and paste it into your DifferentSLIauto 1.7 directory

10. DISABLE graphics cards indevice manager
11. Run the patch (DifferentSLIAuto.exe)

12. <shift>-Restart into Safe Mode
Run the Install.cmd as admin. You should get a certificate installed and 1 file successfully copied. Copy nvlddmkm.sys in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4\ "TO" C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and Paste it Here.

13.Reboot Normally, Enable Graphics Cards in Device Manager. Then Reboot again. Upon Restart the Enable Sli Option Should Now Be available. Enable SLi, Turn UAC back up and Turn Antivirus back on and Reboot.

I am getting this too, I almost thought it was a problem with one of my cards being erratic?

I just installed the latest driver and attempted to patch it from June 29th 2017 and sliautopatcher gives an error saying couldn't find patch #2.

Does everyone else face these two issues? What's the last driver that works without the bug/patch error? Any fix for the graphics bug?

Will there ever be an update for this to work with newer drivers?

Also how would a 3way SLI setup with 2x780s and 1x750ti work? Would the 780s scale down to match the 750ti the way xfire/sli normally works or would the 750ti be able to suppliment the 2 780s with just a little bit of extra graphics processing power?

Thanks.

Most probably. The slowest card sets the pace for the other ones, so in theory you can achieve 3x the performance of a 750ti at maximum.
...or would the 750ti be able to suppliment the 2 780s with just a little bit of extra graphics processing power
Definitely not possible using SLI at drivel level. I think if at all, it would only be possible in a DX12 mGPU context.

I've got me a GTX 980 OCV1 from MSI and a 970 OC Gaming edition, also MSI. Both cards are 4gb... can I SLI these? I tested it out with a GTX 760 partnered with my 980 and I did see more solid performance but not really much if any improvement in frame rates. I'm really not complaining since my GTX 980 games at 1080p perfectly fine, but I'm kind of a graphics whore and if I can frankenstein these things into an actual SLI rig, IT WILL REALLY BE ALIVE! ALIVE!!! HAHAHAHAAHAH!!! LOL... sorry... I'm a bit of a nutter so... Question stands... hope someone in the know... is actually in the know ;) ya know lol!

Guys i spoke with one of the peeps that had updated in the past and he said he'd take a look in a couple of weeks after he finishes with some tasks that keep him busy and try to update it. There is hope still!

I really hope someone can help me out here. I used the method for 1.7 with veikers install file and it worked. Great right? Couple days later I decide to try CEMU. In my testing I wanted to see if disabling SLI changed the performance. I had no issues with enabling/disabling before. Since I disabled I have been unable to re-enable SLI. I have re-done the entire process 3 times and it's still not working now. It appears that even though the install.cmd script says "Success" it's not actually signing the driver. Windows complains of Code 52 for the driver and when I check it is indeed unsigned. How to fix?

I do not believe CEMU altered anything as it's merely an executable you run, it doesnt install or edit any registry files as far as I'm aware. I've attached some pictures to help, note that the one that is unsigned is in fact nvlddmkm.sys, I scrolled over and checked. When I go into certmgr I do see a differentsliauto cert.

Looks like you didn't delete all differentsliauto certs in certmgr.msc before using install.cmd
