Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
mixed bag really. Story/core gameplay is great. Visuals are good (not so sure about breath-taking) Lots of attention to detail/dialogues. Certainly alot of depth in the character progression and UI elements of the game. And overall the game feels unique to me which is cool. I'm curious about re-playability long term and what they are going to do to keep people interested because i wouldn't be surprised if the game burns out rather quickly. Not sure how many life paths and similar(but different) scenarios one could go through before feeling as though they've gotten what the game has to offer.

On the other side of the coin there is the performance aspect which unfortunately kinda overshadows everything else. Everybody's in here talking about RTX and DLSS and I'm just laughing about it because of how irrelevant it actually is. Until they can get the game better optimized and running smooth WITHOUT all that stuff, I can't see any reason why it would be anything other than an afterthought in the game discussion. I set my performance bar real low for this game and was still disappointed. It's hard for me to pretend like 60-70 fps is the magical bar that we should be striving for here. Everybody keeps using the term "playable" which i also find amusing...sure it's playable but then again so is my xbox 360 and I won't be pulling that out anytime soon.

I have a friend that's playing an int based, and is taking enemies by his own custom hacks (suicide) ... I'm sure there is also non-lethal playthrough...

I think the replayability will be quite amazing tbh - kind of like deus ex with the playstyles/skilltrees. At least 2-3 playthroughs for me, maybe more.

Well apparently Micro Center has like 600 RTX 3070 on launch day, sitting on ass and complaining ain't gonna get you a GPU in these times you know  .

Hey yeah, I don't live near a Microcenter. I don't even have one in my state. It's about a 9 hour drive. I'll sit here and whine on a forum thanks. Or do something else for a bit. Like plot to take over the world.

First, just let me say, You guys and gals in this thread SUCK !!!!!!!!!!

I was planning on waiting a few months before grabbing this game.
BUT with all the screens and talk about the story, I grabbed it yesterday.
Then I started playing (as a Street Kid) and darn if I didn't put in about 9 hours on this game.
So much for getting work done around the house, LOL.

As far as Bugs go, I had a few crashes at first but after I changed the settings from RTX Ultra (which was the default) to Medium (RTX 2060 Super on 1080p) I haven't had a single crash since.
I have seen the odd NPC floating mid air after I fragged them with a grenade or shot an explosive gas tank near them.
But overall it has been fairly bug free.

I locked my FPS to 60 Max and I have no problems getting 60 fps (@ 1080p) consistently inside or outside, big crowds or no crowds.
I have RT on Medium and DLSS on Performance.
So for me at least, Performance has not been an issue at all.
I always run my single player games at 60 fps anyways.

My CPU (3700x) and GPU (2060 Super) are running cool and at only around 50-60% load.
So I will probably tweak my settings a bit but for now I am enjoying this game and don't want to spend the time tweaking.
I'm pretty sure I will play again as a Nomad or Corpo.
So I will probably wait and tweak my graphics setting more after I play through as a Street Kid.

The AVX bypass mod has solved my crashing issues. 1440 p on ultra, 30 fps (playable for me) with my 1070. In 4k I have to turn down too many settings, and looks like crap. Better off to run in 1440p and let my tv upscale to 4k. Game looks ok, nothing jaw dropping.

100% RPG. And what is RPG anyway?
So this is a Role-Playing Game. You assume the role of V. ANd by that definition, it's 100%...you are assuming someone's role.

Fable is an rpg, also Divinity original Sin and Ni No Kuni also rpg.
There is no - nonviolent. There is none lethal. I don't know if there is possible to finish the game without killing anyone. I strong vibe that there is a possibility....the actually in a way challenges you to do so.
it really really does. Of course to play it like that you need to take your time (as you would with nay rpg).
Hacking drones, computers, cameras etc to distract the enemy and then performing a non - lethal grab.

Also plenty of main story quests,, if you have farmed gold (money) you can buy your way out of a situation. That again means to do side quests that involve, semy lethal non-violent activities. Playing basketball, whining boxing matches and others for money.

If you have deep pockets, you are also able to bribe certain npc etc and thus, you won't have to draw your guns.

I am playing this as a shooter. Kill and shoot everything that moves. SO far out of all the dialog and the so-called "decisions" I made all are irrelevant. Meaning that it will never affect the outcome of the ending or the game. So it's very linear. it lets you feel like you are inc charge, but I know from experience it's just lines of npc dialog and they won't make a difference.
I guess the game will force you at some point into a decision, so far it hasn't for me.
You can also choose to exclude nudity from the game menu.
Stop it you are giving away too much information! I honestly feel that Grim Dawn may ending being a better analogy for this Game as anyone who has played that for any length of time knows the onion that that Game is.

mixed bag really. Story/core gameplay is great. Visuals are good (not so sure about breath-taking) Lots of attention to detail/dialogues. Certainly alot of depth in the character progression and UI elements of the game. And overall the game feels unique to me which is cool. It runs fine for me without DLSS and RTX. I will say though that my 2920X based system feels overall smoother than my 5600X based system for some reason when playing long sessions and moving through the different aspects of the Game. I'm still really early and just finished that Ghost in The Shell scene after you meet Vanessa.

@Solaris17 Yes. I want this game to succeed. Hopefully, their employees are doing something. (Used to work for this Antivirus company - i was on the team that was support to receive the reports, sort them and send them to the devs for fix - the devs where 2 guys - go figure)

I'm using the settings Vayra86 recommended: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/cyberpunk-2077-game-discussion.275478/post-4411853

Giving a stealth build a go (on the hardest difficulty). Have yet to find/buy a silencer mod so at this point I'm just sneaking around knocking people out when possible. For anybody else considering a stealth build, the Dagger Dealer perk unfortunately does not let you retrieve your knives after you've thrown them. While it's a cool perk, it's very situational, and it doesn't seem feasible to try and stockpile knives for throwing in the inventory (that you would have to manually equip after throwing the first one). Idk, maybe you can find a crafting blueprint for knives or something which would make it more useful, but at this point, it just seems like a wasted perk point.

Definitely see replays in my future (although I did say the same thing about the Witcher III and never went back and did NG+). The blades build looks cool, as does the cold blood tree. Could see myself doing some sort of hacking/crafting build too.

Crashed twice on older 456.xx drivers, let's try the newest ones which are game ready approved for this.

To be honest I wouldnt. I would install it ASAP and just wait for the patch if your that worried about it. Steam and Gog will likely have BW issues for the next few weeks as people get this and other games for the holidays.

I say get it when you can. A few hundred megs for a patch will be much easier to stomach than the DL for the entire game. Especially if your anticipating playing it right after because the patch has been released.

I guess I should wait too before playing further, just only created a character and feels already that 980 Ti is having a hella bad struggle so any optimizations are more than welcome. :D

I tried that little fix idea I posted earlier and it didn't make a difference for me. Still same performance of 40fps on high.

LOL. Its a real task to find the differences with RT on.... I barely found them, apart from the eternal reflection on a car top or a street border... yay! Totally worth 40 whoppin FPS!

What a joke
We are still a few decades away from getting games like the RTX star wars demo, so it's nice that studios are taking the time to make good baked lightings. But I agree that RTX marketing was too big considering that it only affect details like ambient occlusion, and global illumination. It's going to look more natural, but not necessarily more beautifull by a margin. You can still do great things with "cheating".
But at least once we'll get gpu fast enough, the devs will have enough experience with real time ray tracing

Benchmark Scores They're pretty good, nothing crazy.
Just gonna put this here:

"Omg this scene look at the candles... ray tracing is the answer, and now let's go back to normal ultra... It looks so fake now"

Looks literally identical to me... I've watched it 10 times and I can't see one difference haha.

Am I the first one to hear of this glitch?
there have been multiple bug complaints from users on social media ranging from characters' penises sticking out of clothing

Just gonna put this here:

The Global illumination is better with Ray Tracing, as someone who's doing 3D renders on a regular basis, it's the kind of things that that I'm forced to notice now :p. Without ray tracing you got shadows that are more bright than they are supposed to be, and therefore the scenery got a bit less depth. It doesn't look bad, but it's not "natural". And Linus did say that it's subtle.

Even in pre calculated 3D GI is something that is incredibly taxing on render times, but people are using it nonetheless, because it's part of those little thing that makes the picture looks more "right". Some render engine are even said to be better for interior rendering because they have a better GI engine. Renderman from pixar even got two engine : one that is slower (PxrVCM) for simplier setup with less lights, but will give better results for specific scenery that invovle lots of light bounces:

"Bidirectional path tracing can converge faster than forward path tracing for interior scenes or scenes with significant indirect illumination. In particular, when forward path tracing can't easily find an indirect path to the dominant light source, bidirectional path tracing can help – especially if the dominant light source is "one bounce" away from illuminating the scene. It also offers the possibility of faster indirect lighting in general because bidirectional path tracing can make multiple connections between a light path and an eye path and reuse shader evaluations ".

Well it’s settled. I will await 1.04 before installing.

It is out now!
