I'm not quite sure what to make of stability because TS and PR seem to require different settings for optimum performance. Time Spy likes high clock rates, while Port Royal hates it, at least in my case. Anyway, here are my results.

MPT settings of 289W, 350A TDC and SoC TDC 63A, power limit in Radeon at 15%.

Today I will try by increasing TDC to 360A.
The score can go higher. It is at the moment TDC/power limited in Time Spy Graphics Test 2.
I may also increase power limit to 295W that would be 339W on core and total of around 384W for graphic card.
I am not sure if I should push it further as I have reference card with only 10phase Vcore.
I think yours has 14 phase.

Please AMD gives us more of such drivers. :peace:

Holy....Shiat! That's insane!!! My Sapphire RX 6900 XT cost me 1300+ USD (when I got it late December/early Jan), that's effectively 1105 EUR at present conversion rate, so my RX 6900 XT is actually cheaper than the Gigabyte RX 6700 XT Gaming OC!:eek::kookoo::kookoo:

Edit - BTW, just noted your location, I'm a Babylon 5 man myself....
There you go:

€1300.

6900 XT's are ca. €1950 now in Poland.

I think part of my problem is my CPU, which is running too hot (reaches 80 C when running just two cores). I might have made a bad job of applying paste so I'm going to redo it as soon as the thermal paste I ordered from China arrives.

Yeah so happy I bought my Sapphire Nitro+ RX6800 16GB OC when I did I checked the prices of RX6700XT's here in Gougelandastan (New Zealand) and holy shit they cost more than I paid for the RX6800
Sapphire Nitro+ RX6800 16GB OC = $1295NZD inc GST the Gigabyte Radeon RX6700XT 12GB Aorus Elite = $1,493 85NZD inc GST that's 200 efing bucks more :shadedshu::kookoo::slap:

my nostalgia stems from 3-4 games in 1997-2004 range, AGP ATi card days. could never afford nvidia/intel, so all my gaming memories were thanks to AMD. that is why I decided to go all AMD on my new rig last year. purely to honor them for being there for me when I was a kid/teen.

really nice to see my $579 card smashing a $1400 2080 ti. :)

I still wonder, since all here ho tried the new driver noticed a significant performance gain, why is there 0 reference about performance gains in the driver release notes? Been last 10 years on AMD Gpu's, previous 5 with Nvidia, this is the biggest performance leap I have noticed with one driver update :respect:

For the Zen 3 that is kind of normal I would say depending on if you have a special chiplet design ready water block or not.

Ask @Felix123BU about the Ryzen chiplet cooling.
He did intesive research on that. I had ones a detailed private chat with him on the topic. :D

I don't know which water block you have but not all are ideal to cool the hot spot on Ryzen 5900X chiplet.

Based on Felix123BU research I bought TechN Zen 3 water block for my 5800X.

Max temperatures are below 78°C under stress on all cores but usually much lower in range of 65°C.

For thermal compound I am using Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut which is among the best performing compounds:

Felix123BU is using this offset bracket with his block to offset the block so that it sits on hot spot: :)

Thanks. I'm using a giant Bykski block that's compatible with Threadripper, so I don't think coverage is a problem. I'm also using liquid metal but I think I applied too little (ran out of it). I'll reapply it and see what happens.

Yes, I also had issues while building my first water loop with cooling down a Ryzen 5800X. Funnily enough I built the loop mainly for the 6800XT. Lots of people report very high temps on the 5800X, and that's because the majority of coolers are built for cooling CPU's whos heat center is in the middle of the chip, Ryzen's have the hotspot displaced towards the bottom mostly because of chiplet positioning (depending on how the socket is oriented on the motherboard)

I did some tests with the new setting of 2745MHz@1020mV. VRAM at 2110MHz. This setting is really stable with 99.3% Firestrike Stress test score. :D

I increased the power targets. MPT settings of 295W, 360A TDC and SoC TDC 63A, power limit in Radeon at 15%.

Here are my scores. :peace:
It is really unbelievable. I was never able to get my 6800XT stable for such high results before. The new driver is amazing. :respect:

I did some tests with the new setting of 2745MHz@1020mV. VRAM at 2110MHz. This setting is really stable with 99.3% Firestrike Stress test score. :D

I increased the power targets. MPT settings of 295W, 360A TDC and SoC TDC 63A, power limit in Radeon at 15%.

Here are my scores. :peace:
It is really unbelievable. I was never able to get my 6800XT stable for such high results before. The new driver is amazing. :respect:

Matched your MPT settings, game on :D :D :D Here goes:

That's as far as I am willing to go power wise, but love how the reference 6800XT happily sips more power and gives more performance for each couple of watts extra :peace:

I'm also in a love relationship with the new driver :D

Did you guys use the same Wattman settings to get these scores for Time Spy and Port Royal?

Wattman for the clock settings, and extra MPT for raising the power limit, i used the exact power limits as @turbogear posted above with MPT, and my clocks settings are the below ones:

Same settings for TS and PR?
For me the answer is YUP, same settings

And since its Sunday, and I really have nothing better to do at this hour, went and checked some more performance differences with the new driver. My other "benchmark game" is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
After I ran the benchmark, I was like "nooooo waaaay"

Last time I ran that benchmark, at 4K Highest settings, I got 88 FPS, today I got 103......!! Thats a difference of 15 extra frames....at 4K. Ok, the last one was with normal power limits but still OC-ed to the maxx, but even so, 15FPS gain at 4K in SOTR is monstrous. Same exact game version, same everything else.

I played on Saturday night Cyberpunk for 3 hours with the settings that I described before with a 2745MHz@1020mV. :D
The average values for different items I recorded over the 3 hours run are as follows:
- Average frequency 2699.6MHz :D:D
- Average GPU core power consumption 281.4
- Average VRAM frequency 2098.5MHz
- Average Framerate 91.7 :p

Here is the frequency distribution:
Frequency sometimes hit 2716MHz, but mostly was in range of 2699MHz with only 9 values recorded below 2690MHz. :D

Frame rate distribution:
Frame rate dip below 70 was recorded only 32 times during this run from a total of 4711 data points.
Frame rate in range of 100-125 was recorded 840 times.
There were some idle time where I paused the play a few minutes. A short break.;) There the frame rate hit 140 but I removed those from evaluation.

GPU Core power consumption distribution:
The power consumption on average of 281W for this demanding game is really good with the high OCing that I have here. :D
The peaks for GPU core power are most of time lower than 295W with only a very few time during 3 hours a data point hitting 325W as can be seen from the distribution curve.

Had some hard crashes with the game Destiny 2, it send my mashine to hard crashes at the latest so hard that it took some 10 boot cycles to get it back on again. Tried the new driver and the previous - no matter what I do the machine crashes after 5-10 minutes at best. It seems that the latest season pack has some issues with AMD gpu and cpus. Any one else haveing these issues?

Sorry can't help. I don't have the Destiny 2 installed on the PC. I have it only on XBOX One X. :(
I hope some other user will be able to help you here.

@Felix123BU I have not played SOTR since a long time now. I almost forgot that I have it on steam. :p
I installed it again and ran the benchmark. You can see that on 2K monitor the average FPS with my current OCed 6800XT setting is 140 and FPS even goes much higher than my monitor refresh rate of 165Hz. :p
