Congested intercontinental routes. TPU is hosted in the US, like the vast majority of the web and given the current pandemic internet usage's way higher than usual. I've seen as low as 56k speeds on all kinds intercontinental routes before these days.

Is this resolved now? Next time, try ping.pe with www.techpowerup.com and post a screenshot here

Congested intercontinental routes
We're paying good money to our host who promises to route packets in the optimum way over many international links, to minimize such issues. I'm in Germany myself, so I'd notice quickly

All I can tell is that with an American IP I was experiencing no/less issues than with one from abroad yesterday (Intercontinental was close to 56k during the offending time period; domestic was much better). I didn't debug any further.

Happened again, at around 8p UTC. Just for a few minutes tho, unlike last time where it kept throttling for a good 30 minutes or somesuch. Not sure how helpful the ping.pe log would be, but uploaded one anyways.

Happened again at 7p UTC.

tpucdn.com seems to be the offender here, so I have a ping.pe of both here.

Looks like it's groundhog day hour!

Was throttling really hard intercontinental again around 8p UTC (between 7:50 and 8:00). To be more specific, I was getting really low bandwidth trying to load images from this thread: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...esk-nightmare-picture-clubhouse.145287/page-2 (they're very old images, still hosted on img.techpowerup.org.)

Curiously, it's only the intercontinental routes that were affected. It was loading fine with a domestic IP.
ping.pes attached.

Happening again, at 8:25p UTC. Was fine between 8:05 and 8:20 tho.

tpucdn is using cloudflare's CDN. They should have a POP really close to you, no matter where you live

what destination IP do you see when you run "ping tpucdn.com" ?

first one is using my vps (which I am usually as a proxy server), the second one is using my residential IP (I am currently overseas, and when I am not posting sometimes I just lurk without the proxy, thats when I noticed these issues).

This wouldn't be the first case of the infamous Cloudfail I've ever witnessed, in any case.

they're very old images
What could be happening is that Cloudflare doesn't have the images in its cache, so it has to pull them from TPU first, which takes some extra time. When you press F5, the following page load is much faster than the initial one?

No, it does not. Still loading slow.

Attached a screenshot of the network load right now - the first huge spike was via my VPS as proxy (no issues as you can see), the second and third sluggish ones were directly from overseas.
Curiously enough, my route to my VPS (which is in the US) is not affected.

I'm cool it, not that my opinion means much. It's not annoying, it promotes a solid quality product and makes TPU look good. Heck yeah!

I don't think this is just TPU. I think it's an internet thing...

This is how is shows on my screen. I use the "Dark Reader" extension for Firefox. It's available for Chrome as well. Try it.
i personally think i should not have to get a extension and turn it on and off whenever a add roles around
i think the ui should change by default

Yes, its popular and often requested so he's probably considered it quite a few times... someone offer him a GPU as a bribe?
Do you think my old FX 5200 128MB AGP would be enough? :p

I've just posted now from sunny brexit  Blighty and everything was fine. I wonder if the problems are somehow region specific.
