If browsers werent so dumb it would have been not as bad, they should really time out after only a few seconds but instead just wait and wait and wait for dead connections.

There's a timeout setting in the advanced settings of browsers that you can shorten. They're normally set to something like a minute or two. This does make sense for websites that implement forms, shopping carts etc where there may be an extended processing time. If the timeout was too short, then it would be impossible to complete these operations, leading to potentially serious problems for the user.

TPU is currently running in safe mode, due to a server failure. You should be able to visit and read most pages, but any changes won't be saved.

DNS flush hasn't resolved this error message

~~That's because it's still running in safe mode.~~ W1zzard hasn't finished fixing it yet. He's on holiday and doesn't have his full resources available.

Everyone needs to be patient until he gets home and can resolve the issue.(I would NOT want to be the company hosting TPU's servers.)

EDIT, alot is fixed now.

Sounds less like DNS. More like a crash on the server-end.

Dns will not remove the message, but it will make assets from tpucdn work again, which should be the case for everyone by now

I see this same message at all times so I assume it's constantly up. Could you change it so it's less scary, like "some forum posts may not be saved" instead of "any changes won't be saved"?

As a reward for all the good work he's done with the alder lake reviews, i hid the TPU server backups on a mountain so he had a good excuse to get out of the ~~dungeon~~ workshop

The files were hidden under a rock, drone photography show's he's making progress with a yeti in pursuit

(I too am having issues posting in news threads, the rest are fine)

Edit: aww the images didnt make it, but ski free and the yeti shall live on in memory

Just a heads up, attachments don't seem to be loading. This only applies to uploads after this crash. Attachments from before the crash seem to load just fine.
