Still no English news but they settled for $1.85m.
That... is not a lot.
I have a distinct feeling that this lawsuit was not going to go all that far in court.

CDPR obviously wants to avoid courts but not so much in fear of losing but more to not get bogged down in courts for indeterminate time with all the problems and costs that go along with that.

CDPR will get out of this with a bank account full of money and have learned nothing. That's the problem that lead us to the mess we are having with AAA games.

They obviously learned something because next gen patch got delayed. Delay is better than unfinished mess.

CDPR has lost a massive chunk of mindshare in the community. They'll not want a repeat of this, for sure. You have to consider this is thé company that had genuinely acquired gamer's hearts and minds, with their company policies and GOG.com, a few strong game releases and releasing those DRM-free.

They've also seen that a hasty console port can do more harm than good to the product on every platform.

They're still in development hell when it comes to the state of the game and promised features, plus getting what's there to work as it should.

So... CDPR getting out of this.... they're still in it. Whether they've learned is up to company culture more so than ascending to triple A stardom I think. But the Cyberpunk bills are still stacking up, and they still need to deliver things, while the game has gone on heavy sale already.

We will have to wait till thier next major release probably Witcher 4 to know. I'm guessing the biggest lesson they learned is that it's impossible to make a large city based open world with content similar to more linear based games. I can appreciate what they were trying to do but they likely should have canceled the Xbone/Ps4 versions and focused on PC and at the time next gen consoles.

My wife actually liked it a lot more than I did she's actually hated every first person based game I've tried to get her to play other than this one. She's now more open to trying others in the future I can at least thank this game for that.

Nah, I'm still guessing that its far too costly to just drop the whole Cyberpunk franchise. There's a lot more work in this than just the game. They've crafted a world, a franchise that was ready to go for more a'la the Witcher. And they even already have a world, built. A world where whole regions of the city are just deserted, too.

The perfect canvas for a whole series of DLC and additional content for the city is right there in front of us. They even roadmapped it as such, all the way into 2022. They'd be throwing away millions if they would just not use that canvas, especially after suffering the initial backlash. To now drop it after all is not just the end of this Cyberpunk game, its the end of the whole franchise.

im just enjoying the game after almost a year i bought the collectors edition.
I started playing it around March 2021 but stopped until a month ago i downloaded a 60gb patch and what a difference!!
The more i play the more i wanna enjoy all the details from the city and stuff.
I got my yaiba bike and ive been riding the whole city along nice music. 72 fps steady with medium setting and still the game looks fantastic.

Cyberpunk 2077 @4K RTX 3090 Beyond all Limits RTX ON DLSS 2.2 EXTREME settings 50+Mods

i cant drive with that music......... get sleep:sleep::sleep::sleep: give me some techno or metal!!! even though looks gorgeous

And we can quit with the CDPR bashing. This is a thread about the game CyberPunk2077, not a discussion about the business and legal dealings of CDPR.

Thread, any thoughts?

Agreed. Motion overruled. Thread may continue.

I've had some fun with CP , far from bashing it, it was not perfect but what is? My fav glitch was beer bottle hanging in mid air ( look Ma ,no hands :D ) and on weird side my shadow was wearing pants while i was rocking badass skirt so yeah there were some issues:D

I'm considering going back for a replay. I had one or two save bugs. No difference from many, many other titles.

But in response to some posts above, and as a reminder of forum rules, the OP posted parameters that were specific to gameplay and technically difficulties. General discussion of CDPR isn't part of that and is trolling.

Do you think there is any chance we will get a CP 2077 expansion E3 teaser this May/June? I am still waiting to play the game, I think I will wait for the first full expansion to come out, hopefully by summer 2023... playing it then is going to be a real treat I expect. :toast:

The game is good to play now, there are stills some bugs but not like at launch, you can enjoy it mostly bug free. The things that are broken like poor AI or the cops, no garage, etc... those will never be fixed if it's almost 2 years since the first delay.

Aaaand its dead again
What's not dead is the game, still lots of players. Something that i understand, i spend a lot of time with it and went back a 2nd time, then again a bit unfair when i could mention some great, polished games that died in a few months. We get the games we deserve in the state that we deserve

Same. Two trips to NC here too... still really hoping they complete it someday, still so much untapped potential... its just that there isnt much to say anymore about it because the emergent gameplay is just not there, even if the game starts off looking like there is. We have all played the exact same story and bunch of quests.

Thats also why people went out posting about bugs. They were looking for exactly that sandbox that the game seems willing to provide, but all you find is stuff that isnt interactive but can be buggy when trying to manipulate it. And heres the kicker... even without the interactivity... its still great to be strolling around town. A lot to look at. Imagine if they add gameplay to it. A lot of that struck me when replaying the game: those markets full of gangsters where nothing really responds naturally when you start shooting. You can hack, shoot or slice a dude but it plays out the exact same way. The neutral NPCs have no role except innocent bystander. They just plopped gang events down without much thought, in most places. There is always that weird disconnect between the event and the rest of the city.

As for getting what we deserve... dunno. CDPR was trusted as the bastion of great games for gamers, but corporate money won over honesty and solid project management. Thats not our fault...

I purchased this title from Steam during the Winter Sale....I've loaded it up and I'm about 1/2 hour in. On the 5600g, I can just about hold 60fps at 720p. It's good enough for me...no stutters...pretty smooth.

I started as what I'm guessing is a nomad, who has a tribe or something....that is what I'm gathering from the sheriff I just met at a gas station garage. Don't know much yet, but I like what I see so far. Any game that has 1st person and cars you can cruise around in gets instant bonus points from me.

I have to tell you....it's been hard not to check into this thread or watch a few videos on youtube since release. I didn't want ANY spoilers.

Looking forward to this title and from reading the last couple of pages...I'll add.

I'm looking forward to this title....warts and all.

Enjoy it while you can as it won't take long for you to become disillusioned with the game I'd say around the 50hr mark

50h is enough to do main quest and most or all of the side quests, unless you go for clearing the map or another runthrough the content is going to run out at around that point.
Disillusioned is a weird choice of words there. It is a game, it was never going to be the hyper immersive life sim that partially CDPR hyped and in large part the hype community amplified.
