OFFICIAL Cyberpunk 2077 Game Discussion

This is true and explains it well. My wife (whose vision is superb) doesn't mind watching terrible 80's shows on some third rate channels at 480p. And that's on my 4k 55" LG OLED. But I can't watch it. It's a crime against technology.

Some people are okay with a certain Res. Certainly, one of my colleagues doesn't like to watch 4k, she finds it too 'real'.
It's like pizza, I like it hot and fresh but I'll eat it old and cold if I must.

1440p, yes because of the non-linear scaling. 1080p is perfect scaling from 720p as is 2160p. However, to each their own..

Again, to each their own.

I'm just not someone who's resolution spoiled...
used to play half life 2 in an ancient athlon XP, lowest resolution possible, tweaked .ini files and like 15 fps max. Characters looked worse than in an N64 game lol, still remember them like that to this day.
And one of my best experiences, Crysis on a geforce 7600GS, AGP. I couldn't use the missile launcher, ever, it'd instantly crash the game due to the particle effects.

Most if not all the LED monitors I've seen on display and at friends' places displayed horrible pictures, so maybe that's why the differences with my fat boy are so noticeable for me. The prevalence of dirt quality IPS in the third world is too damn high.

Yeah, try being the proud owner of a TNT2 M64. Thank God for CRT monitors and MUDs.

Don't get me wrong folks, I will use the best resolution I have available as long as the framerates can remain consistently high at that res. But I don't mind dropping it down to get better framerates.

ugh, why play CP2077 at 720p though, that's like eating gourmet foods next to a dumping site.

I heard OLED makes everything taste better. Even 720P.

New 10.4GB update has been released, no information has been made available yet.

On a quick glance one difference that I don't think was there with the 43GB update is a new RTX Shadow option, though I could be mistaken. I can only assume that this is more of a stability update, I've heard some players are having problems with audio related crashes, and my game apparently crashed while closing earlier; I played a bit before heading to bed and woke up to find a crash report prompt.

Only 5.6GB in my case which is interesting.

Good news since I was hearing about another 60GB update.

Heh as a matter of fact I do have one, I even did an HL2 run on it  paired with a P3, it looked the same as in my old PC, tanked at 10 FPS, some areas ran at 2-3 FPS, at that point it was a turn-based game. Laszlo, the finest mind of his generation, come to such an end!

To get MOAR fps

10 gigs an stability update? no way, there's gotta be more to it.

I've read it's an update for nvidia-only computers that fixes a memory leak that tanked performance in RTX cards whenever raytracing was enabled, so I won't be downloading it for now.

Purchased it after the recent upgrade on Steam which still has a reduced price to March. Playing at 4K with raytraced lighting and really enjoying it. 60fps. Only one instance of a person walking through a closed door and re-emerging so far!

It's just a best guess and typically what dev's claim updates without a changelog are, along with a number of background balance changes they hope no one notices, the only changes I have seen were the aforementioned RTX Shadow options and the only other change I have heard about as of a few hours ago were apparently key re-binds; I have had the game crash on me once while launching since the update.

Never compare a woman to food in the same context as you use the term "old" unless your goal is to starve and never have sex again...
He said old and cold.
:ohwell:

My copy is with GOG and their system is rather behind. I've got an old install prepatch and it won't find and update the copy from previous OS. Recently went back to w10. Damn you GOG stop making me have to redownload the whole 64gb deal!

Nah 720p is like looking at moldy food, OLED can't make it tastier :D
What about DLSS sauce? You could start at 720p resolution but still come out looking nice at 1440p.

I think the ultimate hangup in the debate on preferences for resolution and frames revolves around the fact they're not true preferences. They aren't choices we make because we want to, but because we can't always have both. There will be some who just can't deal with higher resolutions or frame rates. But the bulk of us would probably be pumping 144hz @ 4k if it was an option.

What I'm saying is... the debate ultimately comes down to what people are comfortable buying, what they can really afford. That's the quiet part everyone blows right past in these sorts of conversations. It's interesting to me that for people who can clearly afford high-end gpu's and 4k displays, buying those is a no-brainer. The same goes for people who can't. It's not even a real consideration. But we all rationalize that one way or another. People on both sides will tell themselves whatever suits them, but we predominantly just buy the best-performing stuff we can afford.

That's when you say "Lasagna is better as leftovers."

And then your genitals shrivel and fall off, instinctively knowing it's the better option.

I still feel like "You're my lasagna." needs to be used by someone, at some point. Not me, though. I leave that stuff to the pros.

There were a rruckload of undocumented balance changes mainly nerfs to just about everything crit %, crit damage, and armor stacking related they went scorched earth. Straight up kneecapped my build. Removed randomized stays from crafting. The list just goes on. There's a 45m vid on youtube by a guy document stuff he's finding at a glance and he's still finding undocumented changes.

I haven't touched the game since 1.2, been meaning to go back and replay but after hearing what been going down in 1.5 turning V into a paper tiger, I'm just full of regret rn.

Download the update and run it in the folder were the game is installed. As a rule all GOG updates are design to default to looking for the game to be update in the folder they're running from.

I would say it as follows: "Lasagna is just as good as leftovers."

I will use that next chance I get. I'm very certain my wife will find it amusing!

Never will you see a man more scorn than the one who's lasagna stash has been fucked with. That's no joke!

Personally I'm on the fence about it, I just started my second playthrough and so far it has been fine, but I'm waiting to see how it balances once I get past level 25, I've heard someone claim that they are trying to push you into a single build and play type.

I'm hoping it's good. To me, the nerfs aren't necessarily a bad thing, as long as they're accompanied by appropriate changes in other areas, or the dynamic. I would almost be more surprised if some things didn't get nerfed.

Being locked into a dominant strategy would suck though. Hardly better. I'd hope they came up with something better than that by now.

It seems like a good bit of things got nerfed. I'm actually kind of optimistic about that. It kind of suggests to me that they've really gone deep in the rework. Giving back the perk points lets you know it's serious. They're just like "Fuck it, all pieces off the board, lets rearrange all of this shit..." I'm really curious what kinds of builds will be possible, and what dominant playstyles will emerge. Looking back, it seems silly that so many people (myself included) attempted to piece-together classes and playstyles out of them. That may be more of a 'me' thing though... in that the only builds I personally found fun required some degree of cheezing. The system wasn't set up with anything like it in mind, there was just A way to do it. It really was kind of a joy to meta, if you enjoy testing the limits of games like that. There was just a lot to uncover, countless hours of exploration! lmao... we were basically improvising classes out of an incomplete, maybe not even fully conceptualized system.
Agreed, I’m optimistic as well. Don’t get me wrong, I had quite a bit of fun with the absolutely busted NetRunner build hacking people through walls (RIP legendary Ping quickhack :(), but it was just so cheesy that you lose any sense of accomplishment. My first stealth/katana build was pretty fun and I didn’t think that was super broken. Interested to try out the new Ninjutsu tree for sure.

Will have to hop back in and try out all the new stuff, but the Witcher III has me in its grips once again…

there is not so much of change about the performance on my gpu with this new update 10gb size.....

right now, using DLSS = balanced still much better than using DLSS = quality in this rpg pc......
