You mean to say that the port isn't reinforced by having it screwed to the frame of the device? Because that's how it is on the iPhone with the Lightning Port. If you look at the bottom of the phone there's two tiny screws on both sides of the Lightning Port that I can only assume are used to reinforce the structural integrity of the port.
I am sure that it is reinforced, but I tend to abuse my phone...

Dropping it repeatedly with a connected device doesn't help its structural integrity.

OK, you have special needs that are niche by today's standards. Most people simply use Bluetooth and forget about it.

Hell, I use Bluetooth all the time, even with my desktop computer. The sound card on my motherboard hardly gets used.
Must be nice, being rich and being able to afford new vehicles.

Meanwhile, back in the real world, there are tens of millions of people in the USA alone that drive cars that dont have bluetooth. Spoiler alert, those people like music too.
What? Nope. No issues at all for me. I have Windows 11 which has built-in AAC Bluetooth codec support which my headphones support. I have my computer in the basement, and I can walk all around the house, even to the third floor, and have perfect sound.

Then again, I'm using the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi card on my motherboard that has a dedicated external antenna assembly. Maybe that's why. Those cheap little dongles that connect via USB suck.
"I have no issues therefore issues do not exist"
Use. USB C does not stand lateral force very well, and removing the charging cable puts tha tvery force on the port.

I've commented on other threads how at work, we are seeing an increased number of laptops with bad USB C ports after 4-5 years, requiring $600 mobo replacements to fix.

Uh no, my car is a 2004 Pontiac Vibe that I'll run until it dies. And since it has a Toyota engine under the hood, it might be a while since if you know anything about Toyota engines, they'll run until doom's day if you do your regular maintenance.

I simply put a Pioneer stereo in it about ten years ago that replaced the standard OEM stereo that sucked. I went to Best Buy at the time and had the garage people install it for me. Now I have Bluetooth everything including hands-free calling which is a must in my area because of laws that prohibit talking and driving.

Don't assume I'm some rich fuck dude, I'm far from it.

Then that's a failure of the USB-C standard and something that should have never made it past the damn design phase!!! Fucking idiots!

And to think that Apple is going to be going to USB-C this year starting with the iPhone 15 models. I hope that they manage to reinforce the structural integrity of the port by screwing it to the frame of the phone like they do with the Lightning Port.

Nope, these are pentalobe security screws. There's a channel on YouTube I'm happy to recommend to anyone who wants to understand how devices are on the inside:

Hugh has opened pretty much every recent phone out there. Should be interesting to watch :)

The picture at the 11:43 timestamp seems to indicate that the Lightning Port is at least somewhat permanently bound to the body of the phone. That's good, seeing as how the port is the biggest stress point.

Why USB-C ports aren't screwed down to the body of the device in Android devices and of course, notebooks, seems pretty stupid if you ask me. That's just asking for easily preventable damage later on down the road. Two simple screws could prevent that kind of damage quite easily and reduce costly repairs in notebooks. I can say the same thing about power plugs on notebooks as well. Really stupid designs.

Using a Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 here, and so far I'm loving it, the only con being, it can be a bit bulky when folded, but using it as a tablet really takes everything to another level.

Performance is amazing, both screens are bright and gorgeous and the speakers are fantastic.

Can't even tell you how many iphone users have told me they wish Apple made a phone like this one, and I bet Apple is probably working on that project already.

Being able to just open the phone and experience everything in tablet mode truly makes using this phone an experience like no other.

I also like how even with the phone folded the front screen works just like any other phone and is useful when quickly checking on things like my email or texting, when I don't need the full screen experience.

I'm not sure I'll be able to go back to regular phones after getting a folding phone.

Wear and tear I would imagine- I work out in the field and my work phone is a tool as much as it is a phone.

Went to plug in a data/charging cable and it wouldn't go in- something bent on the center connector
AFAIK replacing the USB-C port on the S10 series isn't too difficult (unless this is different on the S10e from the S10+), if you can get the phone opened somehow. The part should be pretty cheap, too. It's worth fixing it and keeping as a backup, IMO. I've had my S10+ serviced and the battery replaced, the phone's performance actually increased quite significantly, my old battery must have gone really, really bad.
Meh, work phone, still works 100% fine other than that and wireless charging is certainly a plus in this case. Told my office that I would contact them later in the year about replacing it... happened 4 months ago and phone is nearly 3 yrs old iirc.
Happened to my last phone as well. Too much bending force too many times, I think. If I had to guess, the connection to the PCB was damaged.
^^^ This- I have a pic somewhere of the connector, will see if I can locate it. At least USB C is built much much better than those lousy micro B ones

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
swapped my Poco F3 5G for a Realme GT2 ... (steel black, not the biopolymer paper white/green ... although i might get a paper white backpanel later to swap it  )

a bit more expensive, but no ads (which were possible to toggle off anyway ) but for roughly 71$ more, ~370$, i get:

a Snapdragon 888 5G instead of 870 5G (not a huge upgrade but the rest make up for it)
good camera (well the 48Mpix of the Poco was already good but the GT2 is kinda a "lite" version of the GT2 Pro which is in turn a Oppo Find X5 without the Hasselblad lense "tuning" )
12gb RAM instead of 6
256gb storage instead of 128

well, after some time using it ... i am quite pleased (and not jealous anymore of my mother having a Oppo Find X5, aside the Hasselblad branding on it  )

Realme SuperDart 65W is awesome, although a coworker damaged the charger i got bundled with ... got a replacement with a OnePlus SuperVOOC 65W, which was not too expensive and quite more well built. which is hilarious since SuperVOOC is Oppo and OnePlus is Warp charge ... but SuperDart, SuperVOOC and Warp charge are compatible with each other ... since OnePlus and Realme are subsidiary of Oppo and Realme took the "flagship killer" title from OnePlus which became a bit too expensive compared to their beginning but not stupidly expensive like Samsung and Apple for example.

Probably dirt or some other "product".... check my profile to see what me and the phone could have gotten into lol
Be awesome (though I think it is or could be) added a function where your phone can since dirt or whatever in your pocket and it'd vibrate to whatever way you'd like it

I am most likely going to try to sell my galaxy a53 and get a used iphone 13 or something. I really need to make the move to Apple simply because of work, its what everyone at work uses, the school systems are all on macbook as well, its not my personal choice, more of just to make life easier. hopefully the night mode camera in an iphone 13 is as good as night mode camera in my current phone (cause it impresses the hell out of me)

What's wrong with the A53? Beside the somewhat at times Camera being slow at taking a photo hence probably due to the CPU

Why not have two phones? One for personal use and one just for work? That's what I do. Granted, I won't touch Apple for any reason...

nothing's wrong with it, I like it a lot, but I am just not a fan of samsung constantly reminding to sign into a samsung account, and many of the apps are forced to be on your phone you can't get rid of them, and you can't update them either without a samsung account, so im forced to update a bunch of apps i will never use in the galaxy store or risk security vulnerabilities.

its a bit annoying. if Lineage OS supported this model of phone I would just go to Lineage OS honestly. sadly they do not. I wouldn't mind having a Pixel phone, I just want that clean experience. - but since work really does need Apple, I might as well just be done with it and go to Apple. I don't really use my phone for much to be honest, other than taking pictures when traveling

My 10+ still looks like new. Except the faulty S-pen's bluetooth, both are still working perfectly fine.

The Fold is too big for me, but I feel you... I'm just in love with my Flip. It's an innovative spin on an old classic. I wonder if they will ever manage to make a creaseless foldable?

Yes, the wife has a flip too, and I agree, love the form factor!

I also liked the new Motorola Razr, but the internals were not worth the asking price unfortunately.

I don't mind the crease so much, but you're right, under certain lighting it can get in the way, especially when watching videos, wonder if Samsung is working on improving that aspect of folding phones already.

they already announced the next Fold won't have a crease at all that is visible or feelable.
If they manage to do that I might spring for it, Samsung is always awesome when it comes to deals when you preorder your phone, I got $1050 towards my phone just by sending my galaxy S21 ultra back to them.

I think buying unlocked phones directly from them is the way to go, hate being tied up to any given phone company.
