I am sure that it is reinforced, but I tend to abuse my phone...You mean to say that the port isn't reinforced by having it screwed to the frame of the device? Because that's how it is on the iPhone with the Lightning Port. If you look at the bottom of the phone there's two tiny screws on both sides of the Lightning Port that I can only assume are used to reinforce the structural integrity of the port.
Dropping it repeatedly with a connected device doesn't help its structural integrity.
