Got an RX 6700 XT recently and everything sparks like diamonds but after some experiments with my older 1080 Ti I finally placed that Radeon back and did a complete driver reinstall. This made my RX 6700 XT underperform in Cyberpunk 2077 and this is THE ONLY game I suffer FPS loss. I mean, I installed a 6700 XT, ran CP2077 tests, got ~70 FPS and then decided to run some tests on 1080 Ti to make sure it's in OK condition.

Reinstalled the card, reinstalled the driver, ran DDU several times, every other game runs like always but in CP2077, I now only get ~62 FPS on the exact same settings (and yes, I run the exact same "OC" profile (2000 to 2133 MHz (I love PC parts silent and this low clock does allow for it) GPU, 1200 mV, default VRAM speed, +15% PL)).

I never used AMD drivers other than 23.2.x with this card. And regardless of the exact .x the CP2077 runs 10% worse than previously.

What I did:
• DDU;
• complete game reinstall including cleaning old settings files everywhere;
• sfc /scannow;
• checking the card if it's somehow gone bananas, "alas" it's in pristine condition;
• checking other PC components, and everything is OK;
• everything what Adrenalin Software allowed me to change, I changed.

What I did not:
• fresh Windows install (currently undesirable);
• flashing BIOSes (don't see any point in that);
• changing other PC components;
• remember if I'm comparing CP2077 1.61 with 1.61DLSS3. No luck finding the original 1.61 version so I dunno how to make sure.
• 9/11.

Will reinstall Windows when I get a new SSD so I'll be aware of if Windows is a culprit. Other than that, any ideas why I lost performance and only lost it in one game?

Delete the game configuration files and rebuild the shader/game cache (delete C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CD Projekt Red\Cyberpunk2077\cache). The latter might be the culprit.

Also delete the DirectX Shader Cache (on disk cleanup)

No idea why you lost performance in only one game, but swapping graphics cards of different makes has a tendency of messing up stuff in the Windows registry. Even DDU isn't a 100% foolproof solution, unfortunately.

Did it. FPS decided to become even lower. The more the funnier.

Yes, because the cache has to rebuild, so it'll be worse for a bit.
With this speed, it'll only take a bit if a bit is eternity. I already wanked around in a free roam, no luck finding better framerates. Prolly the reboot will make some diffo tho...

UPD: it did not. Same ~60 FPS.

Found a spare HDD, committed a fresh install of the exact same Windows build. FPS stays the same. I'm becoming more and more assured it's not my system to blame. I most likely was comparing different versions of the game and CDPR appeared to somehow worsen framerates despite this update was only meant to add DLSS3 features. And they worsened performance by bloody much. I'm glad I didn't pay for such kinda beta testing.

One thing is that some settings make FPS worse on amd cards that don't affect NVIDIA cards as much. I've found Volumetric Fog and (usually ultra) Tesselation to be the worst offenders.

Irrelevant. I remember putting every single setting maxxed out in both cases.

Well I've got nothing then. You could try look up in youtube what the old card was supposed to get or compare the new one. That might give you a clearer picture.

Halo MCC doesn't need more than an RX 5600 XT, can do UHD/4K at 60 Hz.

My sister plays it with an Ryzen 5600 and a 6600 XT
The game configure itself in rather low territory but runs perfectly in 3440x1440 - 60 Hz ... and it's relly looking good, even in low !
It's a bit conservative in the settings, because i've tweaked them in the medium territory, and it's still rund good :)
That's possibly because Hogwarts Legacy's auto-selector, thinks the card isn't stronger than an RX 5500 XT 8 GB.

Made an small video on HW Legacy since idk if anyone has showed how it runs on a 6700 (at 1440p that being):

TL;DW: Rather well. VRAM is constantly maxed out, but it doesn't show on the overlay bc HWInfo shows something silly like 50GB of VRAM used, lol. Actual usage is about ~9800MB.
Recording takes up to ~5fps in game. It was recorded at 1440p@60fps, but processing do be taking eons.
I also gave it a go last week. It basically hovers around an 1440p/60 average with ultra settings w/o RT on my machine.
Framerate dips into the 50s when outside and jumps into the 70s when in Hogwarts or inside dungeons and such.
Basically, on a 6700XT with any kind of enhanced sync display you can set a 60 fps lock on 1440p/ultra and call it a day, because you'll never notice the dips and you don't gain much by running the game uncapped.
The game eats lots of memory though and not only VRAM (which peaks at 11GB) - actual RAM usage on my 32GB PC usually sits between 18.5 and 20.5GB.
Again that's on 1440p sans RT. UE4 in an open-world setting with this kind of fidelity definitely costs a memory premium ^^
That being said I hardly notice ANY stutters in the game, which I've seen a lot of complaints about. At most one or two in the first few minutes of gameplay.
I guess this is one title where 12GB VRAM / 24GB RAM should be the recommended target for running ultra settings.

Case closed.

The culprit is the game itself. Vanilla 1.61 shows 72 FPS on the exact same resolution/settings/OC of 1.61DLSS3 only showing 63. And I prolly know why. Dunno if I'm hallucinating but DLSS3 version is of a lil bit nicer image. Smoother, too, as the min FPS is better (49 VS 39) in the newer version.

Please help, I cannot decide - 6650 XT, 6700 non-XT or 6700 XT...
I have an old build (B450 Tomahawk Max, was Ryzen 3600, but 5600 is already coming, 2*8Gb...) and want to change my old RX580 8Gb to something that suits my 32" 1440p 164Hz monitor.

Me and my kids we don't game much (max of 8h/w for us all), so I'd probably go for 6650XT for ~300€ (sadly, currently jumped to ~320€, but I could wait a week), however I've read it will run only PCIe 3.0 8X with my B450 (so a big loss, right?), also 8Gb could be too little for the next 3-4 years (as I'm not planning to upgrade again earlier)..
Therefore 6700 non-XT for ~345€ probably would be better.. sadly, stocks are emptied and prices jumped to ~400€, that is the same (+-10€) as 6700XT costs.. o_O
BUT with the 6700XT (Sapphire Pulse, to be precise, because my case is not big), I'm afraid I'll need to change my otherwise very good TX550M PSU, so additional +100€ for only +10% more, right?
And we don't do multiplayer shooting (so +10FPS is not aim here), but we like good quality images for games like God of War, AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk (and would love to play Hogwarts Legacy) with no visible stuttering (in 1440p resolution).
So all in all, should I wait for 6700 non-XT to drop to previous ~340€ (if that ever happens :) hopefully, they are still produced, right? because strangely I see out of stock in many shops), should I go with 6700XT (with some undervolting perhaps? because it's really worth the current price?), or go with a 6650XT as I wouldn't notice big differences anyway?

AC Valhalla, Cyberpunk (and would love to play Hogwarts Legacy) with no visible stuttering (in 1440p resolution).

Neither of options is good there. Around 75 average FPS with 6700 XT in Cyberpunk at 1440p (High preset without FSR; with FSR, it'll be around 100 FPS but you can notice the image worsening). Cockwarts Legacy tends to feast on GPUs even more inspite of being way more 2000late in terms of graphics. Not sure about Harry Potter game but the Cyberprank will stutter because of your CPU. Yes, this game is THAT CPU-hungry. 5800X3D is the cure here.

Want 100+ FPS everywhere, flick yourself something heavier. 6800 XT at least. Can sacrifice half'o'settings for the sake of good speeds, 6700 XT will be good to go. 6600 series is NO GO in 1440p. Never ever consider them.

Oh and your PSU will survive even the 6800. Some undervolting is needed perhaps but it will do. 6800 XT and higher are too dangerous without proper energy tuning. You may UV them to ~190 W peak consumption (rather easy, just lower the clock and watch the wattage falling) so your PSU will be perfectly fine. The moment you afford a better PSU you are eligible for pushing your card to its maximum.

IMO the 6700 is enough for 1440p. If you can buy a 6800, buy a 6800, though. I mean, a new PSU isn't that expensive either at that level.

I get to join this club tomorrow, am picking up a XFX RX 6700 from a fellow TPU'er. I already have a XFX Merc 319 RX 6800 XT and an ASRock Formula OC RX 6900 XT in other rigs. Very well built GPU's.

Default PPT limit on the XFX model is 138W, which I consider nothing but a mistake (specially for such a hilariously overbuilt card, unless you enjoy seeing 49C edge temps) :p

Make sure to give it +15% PL on Adrenalin, else you'll see ~2100MHz in games which is silly. At +15% its 158W, which is more than you need.

Benchmark Scores With these specs, does it really matter?
I have the MSI Mech RX 6750 XT and thus far no issues with either temps or stability. I think I went into the Adrenaline software one time to purposefully auto-overclock the card for benchmarking and experienced no problems. I'm not comfortable yet with manually overclocking the card as I'm not really sure how much of an FPS boost I'll get versus temp increases.

BUT with the 6700XT (Sapphire Pulse, to be precise, because my case is not big), I'm afraid I'll need to change my otherwise very good TX550M PSU, so additional +100€ for only +10% more, right?
Not necessarily (though it's recommended). What specs are the rest of your system?

For 1440p, I'd get the 6700. The 6650 XT is a nice enough card as well, but just to be safe.

The auto overclock feature doesn't do much. If you really want to OC, you'll have to do it manually.

The first step is always a power limit increase, there's no point OCing without it. I'm sure others can help you with the clocks. :)

Get the 6700XT. You can set more conservative clocks and voltages if you actually run into power problems.
Though if the PSU is really good for stable ~500W you shouldn't have that issue as the 6700XT draws an absolute maximum of 203W.
As of now mine 6700XT has allowed me stable 1440p/60 native at max settings (no RT ofc) in every single game out there except A Plague Tale: Requiem.
With the current pricing I'd say it's the perfect card for that resolution.

Gigabyte 6750XT Aorus bells and whistles !

But before installing it , i need to clean a bit the case, change the PSU, repaste the CPU (+/- 5 years, the T° climbs a little :) )
I'm a bit lazy to do it ... and I wonder if it could be a good moment to change my case ...
The good old Corsair Obsidian 650D is a huge monster, i want something smaller now, like an Fractal Pop Air, something like that.
But i dunno what to do with the Corsair :/ I wonder if someone could be interressed ?
Anyway, i'm glad to be in da club !

Welcome to the club! :)

I've also got an empty Corsair case waiting for ... something. :D The resale value is practically non-existent, so I might as well save it to build something in it and sell it as a whole system later.

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
I bought the Sapphire 6700 10GB 6 months ago since we only seemed to have the Powercolor Fighter and Sapphire Pulse models of the 6700 in the UK. Every review of the Fighter says or shows that it has a noisy cooler which is an absolute deal-breaker for me.

I've squeezed it back into my obnoxiously-cramped HTPC undervolted to 2400@975mv and put the VRAM on fast timings. The goal for me is to have the most efficient GPU that fits into the case and underclock it until the fans never ramp up. This thing needs to be not just quiet, but completely inaudible from the sofa. I'm probably losing 10% of the performance at these settings but the case is both short and shallow so I'm pretty happy to hit 2.4GHz under full load at just 1000rpm. 30% fan/1000rpm is the bare minimum, it's in 0rpm mode until it hits 55C.

It's replaced a 3060, 6600, 6700XT, and 3060Ti in my attempts to find the best performance/Watt. It's really hard not to like the little 6700. The Pulse seems to be a very high quality card but it's about 20% more expensive than the Powercolor so not really worth the premium for most use-cases. Availability of both seem to be very poor now, presumably AMD are busy producing RX7800 and RX7700 silicon instead at the moment...?
