What are you playing?

Now what? Pentiment!

The Legend of Dragoon with my jailbroken PS3. Too expensive game to re-buy (I had it back in the day but sold it) so I'm playing an image for now.

The Angler: Call of the Wild.

Rather large and necessary update came out today that pushed me to reinstall it. Cannot overstate how creepy/stalkerish looking the playable characters are. Without sunglasses it is hard to dismiss ideas they left their stuffed mother in a rocker before heading out to the lake. Money was spent upfront on scenery leaving flawed controls and animations they are slowly bringing into line with expectations. In line with current hardware VRAM usage was knocked down considerably among numerous UI refinements that now run smoothly. Beforehand landing a fish was obviously creating hard to complete commands putting stress in uncommon places.

Experiencing driving around in a 4x4 clearly displays the devs spent some time out in the wild getting bounced around in a truck over rough terrain. You get the suspension of a stadium truck combined with the power delivery and handling of a farm vehicle. One of the larger complaints, this being a fishing game you spend almost no time fishing in during the all important two hour playing return window, had no impact on me. Every new trail was a better recreation of tackling mountain environments than the last. Making it worthwhile for players to spend 10 minutes driving in place of fast traveling is a highly appreciated decision. Where Hunter: Call of the Wild was a walking simulator this one appears headed towards being an arcadey driving sim.

Now that is interesting. How well does it work? Also, we get like a million remakes of games that still look good, but not this? :(

It works well. The text is tiny, and sometimes hard to read; but I've played a couple hundred turns without any glitches or crashes, which is pretty amazing for a 25-year-old Windows 98-era game being emulated in Linux on a handheld. I did a custom control set (right trackpad for mouse, L1 for left-click, R1 for right-click, A for spacebar, plenty of buttons for adding stuff later).

I mentioned in another thread that I've bought SMAC/X three times, and I'd buy it again if it was remastered; but since Firaxis is now a 2K subsidiary and EA owns the publishing rights, I don't think it's going to happen.

Not a screenshot, but a video:
Steelseries moments is useful for grabbing short snapshots.

The best thing is that the guy firing the 50 cal somehow had 0 kills at the end of the round. If you squint your eyes at 0:06 you will see the driver of the logistic vehicle getting ejected out of it. To the moon!

Been playing Doom Eternal for the past few days...tons of fun, but sometimes exhausting

Petting all the animals helps to think and sometimes change your mind.

plot twist:

"When the apprentices of a Paris printing shop in the 1730s held a series of mock trials and then hanged all the cats they could lay their hands on, why did they find it so hilariously funny that they choked with laughter when they reenacted it in pantomime some twenty times?"

I guess the game developers didn't read this particular history book... looks like a 18th century French hat he is wearing too... haha

in other news, I am addicted to FFXIV Endwalker again.

I have been playing The Cycle: Frontier with my nephew. It's actually pretty good for a free to play game. Oh and as always Elden Ring!

To fire up my new mouse (and coming back to my motto of playing old games with better quality than I could earlier), I decided to give the BF Bad Company 2 campaign a new round.

AND IT STILL MAKES ME LAUGH ALL THE TIME

I beat that campaign for the second or third time this past January, it holds up really well for as old as it is. enjoy!

We're in dire need of a Bad Company 3. But DICE ain't the same anymore.

I am torrenting the playtest demo of Dark & Darker right now.

I’ll fire it up shortly. The download should be done in an hour on my ghetto DSL connection.

Hi,
Does anyone know about this or have an article?
Do cars in GTA drive in a loop? Have you ever followed a single car and see where it goes? Does it go back to the same place and repeats its route?
Why there's never an accident or congestion in GTA?
Do you think the developers decided on a certain number of cars and if traffic level goes wrong, they might destroy or pop up new cars from a location out of player's sight?

Do NPC cars ever park somewhere or enter a garage (lower the overall traffic)?

Have anyone tried blocking several roads by turning a bus to stop at width of a road?
When you leave a car after you steal it, does someone else hop in and drive it (an NPC other than the car owner)

If you watch some of the videos on @lexluthermiester profile, you will find the answer to many of your questions.

Essentially, the person has to drive like an NPC and hide from his friends for 24 in-game hours. He has learned much about the ways of the AI.

Mostly, NFS Unbound and Forza Horizon 5 for my racing games passion, Apex Legends and Overwatch 2 for FPS, and Cyberpunk/Hogwarts Legacy/RDR2 for open world. And lastly WoW if i feel like playing MMO.

If I feel like getting into intellectual territory, chess :P
