Hi there, I just got a Legion 7i 13900HX and spent way too much time thinking 9.5 was letting me undervolt!

Can you please send me a link for 9.5.1? Thank you!

Some users have used TS 9.5 to undervolt 13th Gen. I sent you a link to TS 9.5.1

Make sure Windows 11 Virtualization Based Security is disabled including core isolation memory integrity. That might be the real problem.

Since Intel XTU blocked this, I found this thread and your tool here :)
I am new to all this, are you planning to release this more openly?
Or will you for the time being send it on a case by case basis?

I am sure I will someday. I have some procrastination issues, especially when I do not have any new hardware for testing purposes.

Post a FIVR screenshot of TS 9.5.1. Undervolt Protection might be enabled on your computer with no simple BIOS option to toggle this off. That is the future of many Intel based computers, both laptop and desktop. Enthusiasts will not be happy with this new Intel feature. Lucky many Asus boards have a simple BIOS option available so you can use the older 0x104 microcode which allows undervolting.

I would only use TS 9.5.1 on 13th Gen CPUs. Post some screenshots if you have any questions.

thank you boss, for the 9.5.1 just done testing this morning. now I fell like it's going to the right direction, especially ryzen 9 7945hx does 34,000
ps if you wondering about the temp of 80c, because it a single run from a cold boot, 30mins will run into 83c - 91c

last test for the day 2hr 30mins in these time pushing cpu cache to the limit -175 no problem. I also have try -195 but cinebench will crash.

Seems to be working on 13900HX CPU in Lenovo Legion with 150mV UV on Core/PCache/ECache. Haven't figured out which one crashes PC when pushing to 175mV but for now I guess I will do some testing by running some games. Just out of curiosity, if others have similar spec, would you mind sharing the type of UV you are achieving? Thanks! P.S. Just out of curiosity, what is Windows Defender Boost in options???
Correction: 150mV on Caches crashed while watching youtube, trying out 125mV on them now.

from my 5 hr testing anything below -150 is stable, when pushing -175 you can only have it either -175 cache and -150 cores or the other way around -170 cores and -110 cache. you can also try -160 cache and -130 cores or -160 cores and -100 cache. you can't have both -175 cores and -175 cache it will crash. I also try -160 cores and -160 cache but it too crash, the highest I have try is -195 cache and -130 core but that kinda crash. so it's more of a choice you can't do both, whichever stable for your laptop and on that note I'm using asus g18 strix

Older Gen CPUs sorta seem to favor Core UV over Cache. My older 9th gen only allowed 85mV on Cache whereas Core could easily go above 160mV. Another question I have is, with new E-core biz, do we need to match UV on both P-core and E-core???

UV E cores does nothing for me, I see no improvement in anything so I turn it off. I only UV core and p cache everything else to zero unless your using igpu, if your using dgpu then no. because of the power limit of 157W you won't get pass 34k in cinebench. but if your bios let you go to 185W or even 200W then you be getting 36k in cinebench. for now this is my best setting see the picture below.

Checking this box will run a CPU system timer in the background. This trick used to prevent Windows Defender from using too many CPU cycles which could improve performance about 5%. This no longer seems necessary on 12th and 13th Gen CPUs. Checking this box will not hurt anything if you have a 12th or 13th Gen CPU. It should not make any difference to performance whether this box is checked or not.

Hi @unclewebb

Thanks for your dedication towards the project.

I recently purchased a 13900hx laptop and was hoping I could participate in the 9.5.1 beta?

Thank you :)

@unclewebb hello
I just bought a aurora r15 with i9 13900kf,
Version 9.5 doesn't allow me to undervolt the cpu .
Was hoping I could try your beta to see if that works?
Voltage offset is not greyed out though If I apply voltage offset it does nothing

Hey. First of All.. Thank you for all the years of using TS. One of the best tools and a must for every laptop owner. ;) I got a AW m18 r1 and disabled UV Protection. Tried TS 9.5 but cant control E-Cores. Is it possible to get a Beta Version to test it out. Big Thanks in Advance :)

Here is the comparison with TimeSpy:
9.5: View attachment 289933 9.5.1: View attachment 289934
with these settings:
View attachment 289935

incredible difference between this 2 versions. Also the Temps. I think a Temp drop of ~10°C. Later I will share more Information. Thank you!
Holly heck, can you help me and tell me how you managed to disable undervolt protection?

@unclewebb - I recently purchased a new lenovo legion with 13 gen i9-13900HX Processor. I would like to beta test 9.5.1 for undervolting purposes and report results here. Can you provide a download link? Thank you.

I have a lenovo legion laptop with 13gen i9 13900HX. I have unlocked my CPU in BIOS to allow for overclocking and undervolting. I also disabled VBS in windows. 9.5.1 doesnt seem to be undervolting the CPU. In fact, I can max out the offset voltage and it has no effects on temperatures or performance (also no errors / crashes). Is there anything I am missing?

@Brontos
Try following this guide to disable Windows 11 Virtualization Based Security including core isolation memory integrity.

ThrottleStop cannot read and write to the CPU voltage control register until VBS is disabled. You will also need to reboot and delete the ThrottleStop.INI configuration file when you are done. Post an updated FIVR screenshot after you do that.

The VCCIN slider in the FIVR window will be locked after VBS is completely disabled.

It would seem that Acer Predator 16/18 laptops with the 13900HX lock the undervolting and the BIOS is very limited in things you can change, which is a shame, why would you want to restrict someone wanted to get better battery life from a laptop?

unclewebb, I hope you dont mind me asking, my Acer originally came with 2 x 8GB of DDR5 5600MT/s 1.1v RAM, I just replaced it with 2 x 16GB Kingston FURY DDR5 5600MT/s 1.1v RAM but it only shows up as 4800MT/s, there are no options in the BIOS but wondered if you were aware of how I can set it to run at 5600MT/S when in Windows 11?

lock the undervolting
Does TS 9.5.1 show Undervolt Protection in the FIVR window?

I do not know how to get your memory to run at its rated speed if the BIOS does not have any options to control this.

Just got my new legion laptop with 13900hx, used throttlestop the last 2 years on my old laptop. Sad to hear there's no support for 13th gen on 9.5. Can I get a link to 9.5.1 boss?
