You can check hardware RT on unreal Engine, a 4090 is 3 times as fast as the 7900xtx, and no one can claim unreal is nvidia optimized.

This is from PUGET's review.. But somehow people in this forum will insist the difference in RT is 16%. What can you do, amd defenders just hate reality.

Yet in actual games that people play on computers, you know: computer games, the numbers look far better than that for AMD cards when using RT. And all that graph shows is that even a $1200 card can barely crack 30fps and renders every hyped previous gen GPU from same company utterly inadequate. Please explain how $1200 for 30fps is good for PC gaming.

But this is a fanboy slide of course, we all know that ;)

I don't get the point of that slide other than to Fanboy it up either.

The four games I've been most impressed with as far as RT are Witcher 3 NG, Control, Metro EE, and CP2077 at least from the perspective that I would rather play with RT on vs OFF if given the choice the thing is the 4070 that this thread is about I wouldn't want to play any of those games even at 1440p with RT on and I already know what the performance is generally like due to having a 3080ti in my secondary pc that performs similar enough.

The 4070 isn't good enough and even with Frame Generation the base framerate isn't high enough in something like CP2077 overdrive for me to care about this card.

Yeah, it even shows the 4090 is a piece of shit in the grand scheme of things, good luck with your "future proof" cards.

Technically no gpu is future proof some less than others though.

That is the nature of the beast one day that level of performance will be considered budget and we keep moving forward.

You don't need to worry man, I know you can't be convinced that nvidia is much much faster in RT. No biggie

To be fair, 7900s are amazingly fast at Fortnite with Lumen/Nanite.
We don't know if the new UE5 games are similar to Fortnite and the gpus behave similarly but in this specific title RDNA 3 looks amazing.

In anything else they are decent while all the 6000 are nearly entry level.
(on topic) That's why the 4070 is a better choice compared to anything else like Ampere or RDNA 2.

I'm not worrying, just providing more info. We all know RT is faster on nV in majority of games not using UE5, but you posting UE5 developer benchmarks that are just to show 2-3x more performance on nV when in fact UE5 games show a much different picture is dishonest on your part at the least, if not fanboyizm.

So you pull up BS theoretical benchmarks that are inapplicable in games, then you get a proper benchmark in a UE5 game to counter, and all you have to respond is mocking the people giving real info.

You must be well liked around here.

I don't think you understand what theoretical is. Nvidia isn't theoretically much faster in RT. It is much faster in RT, period. Games that don't make much use of RT, obviously the difference will look smaller, but it isn't. They are just not making much use of it.

If i pull FPS charts from a game that only uses a single core would it makes sense to claim the difference between a 16 core CPU and a Pentium G is only 5%? Of course not. It's just that this particular game does not make use of the 16 core CPUS capabilities. Well, that's what you people are doing. Since you don't even care about RT in the first place, why it's so hard to just admit that there is a vast gap between amd and nvidia on it. It doesn't make sense to me honestly.

speaking of path tracing capability, 4070 is roughly the same as 7900XTX

There were some posts in here saying the 4070 was going to outsell everything.

Well apparently not.

Well at least all people aren't dumb that's a good sign. You shouldn't buy GTX 1060 6GB Class GPU for 650eur.
I remember earlier days before shit RTX 2000 series **70 class gpu was always good in terms of p/p with good enough performance for that time. Now that's all are gone evaporated into air.
People must show some fury and throw rocks at nvidia or in future situation will be even worse.

Can't wait for low end RTX 4060Ti 8GB for 450-500eur (GTX 1050Ti level GPU) nvidia will break his own record. That will be remarkable outstanding piece of shit for that price. Even if you caunt inflation it's still is absolute insult.

The problem is that benchmark doesn't reflect in-game performance. How is a benchmark useful if it doesn't represent in-game play? Other than for fanboys to post while providing no context, to feel good about their favorite company?

Yeah I get the point he is trying to make there are just way less fanboy ways to do it.

It's really up to people to look at the specific games they want to play and how they want to play them to decide what card they want to go with be it Nvidia or AMD, Even though GPU buying has gotten more complicated when having to factor in what vendor has better upscaling/RT/Raster performance it's still really comes down to the games.

At the same time people are going to buy whatever they want even this Crap 4070 but just because I think it is crap doesn't make it crap to them.

But honestly people fanboy it too hard on both sides even if he posted an actual released game where the 4070 is faster than the 7900XTX in RT people will just say it's Nvidia optimized and even if someone else post a benchmark where they are close someone will say it's due to it being a light implementation of RT but at the end of the day who cares look at the games you play and buy the card that best fits that need.

All of the current generation offerings are terrible flagship like from a price/performance scenario so anyone looking at a new gpu has to decide what terrible best fits their needs.

Honestly these are the only graphs people should be posting on current gen cards and honestly it's just sad.

4070 won easily in everything, 150W and 10% free performance extra after OC to 3000-3100MHz, shaking hands with RTX 3090 when 4070 is stock. With OC even faster.

Then we add DLSS 3.0 to the mix  Can't stop loving the permanent winctory.

AMD is great if your apartment needs extra heating and you are willing to stop at library-pc tier performance with 6800XT, so hot'n'old. AMD steering towards bankruptcy due to lack in engineering capabilities? 7950X3D burning sockets and itself aswell, can deliver photos if this is still fresh for some.

I am worried if AMD doesn't bring out 150-200W card with 4070Ti performance in next 6months, clock's ticking.

As a Danish I would be worried of AMD wattage melting down glaciers. It's kind of energy consumption and receiving next to nothing in exchange, when better performance comes with less wattage with Nvidia.

Well, AMD, was nice seeing you.

@HaKN ! I promise to throw flowers in water when cruising with a ship over Denmark after water levels have risen. :) For the glory of Denmark.

I could buy 7900XTX for 500eur and then lower it's wattage and frequency, to give better FPS/W.

I really dont care about RT one bit. Thoose who claim they do is just in the copium train trying to justify why they spend 1.5k+ on a gpu. No one is going to notice RT in gaming when they are gaming. You are doing stuff all the time and not standing still. You claim to care about energy levels on gpus ? How quickly you forgot the 3000 series power draw? And whats wrong with 300-350w cards ? Why the sudden outrage on power levels? Yea i see you in 12 months when the 192bit bus and 12GB memory is chocking :) enjoy your 4060 for 599 , oh sorry i meant the 4070 :)

Gamers Nexus review pointed out that it's holding hands with 3090 occasionally, more often with 3080 without those special features. Great card, cheap, low wattage, RT solid + DLSS 3.0 overpower. Nvidia came and crushed competition. Waiting for AMD's reply. :)

Higher wattage is annoyance, you drive diesel car without charger too? :D Say hi for museum lifestyle of poor efficiency.

Rtx 4070 is cheap ? What planet were you born in ? Bottom of the barrel insanly cut AD104 die with 2 ram places missing 192bit bus for 599? In what planet is that cheap ? A whole ass ps5 can be bought for that money. Not to mention that they locked the chips into drawing max 210-220w so it dosent go near the 4070ti. There is nothing good about the card. Stop being a fanboy. It helps nobody

dynamic resolution ps5 with ~RX 6700 and <60fps is not an option, short drawing distances break immersion. Graphics look like grandma's pullover, blurry textures.

Slap in some RTX 2070 for 200eur and use DLSS 2.0 to achieve better performance than that old console. PS5 having some sort of Ryzen 3700X cpu, which cost 100eur in used markets - or just to get some modern i3-i5 with much greater IPC.

Could not care less about memory bus width. Aren't you a bit messed up now, first you write about "boo boo RT boo", stating about "real performance" without any of those features? Next you begin with memory bus width. :D I am having quite mixed feelings now. :toast:

I was in your boat with real world performance matters, efficiency matters. Nvidia seems to dominate and this tends to be a bit too strong coffee for AMD-users. :)

600eur for 3080, 600eur for way better 4070. Great release.
