It's been so long since I played this game that I can't remember exactly what hardware I was using. I now use an Intel CPU, but before that I had an AMD Phenom and I have had my EVO 850 500GB SSD for several years, but not very long.

Nope I am on a SSD... It is apparently different from one player to the others..

So I am not sure what could lead to that kind of INITIAL loading time

In my case, the loading time was around 1 minute and 40 seconds. I used the GOG version. I've never seen a game take longer than a minute to load. Games like 0 A.D. , Open Arena and OpenDiablo 2 open without delay in FreeBSD and Linux.

But I think that this slow loading time of this game was a general problem that percentage-wise a lot of people were affected by:

Open world theme park. Lots of things to do. Guided tour ish with some puzzling and a bunch of combat. RPG progression systems.

I got a bit burned out on that thing unless the style/world really appeals to me, and this isn't it for me. I think its fantastic if you like Harry Potter though

Final Fantasy XIII on PC, I've platinum'd this on PS3 and now it's time to get all the achievements on PC.

Just my opinion but this is a hella underrated game, I know it's linear etc. but still a good one.

The Mostly Negative reviews on Steam are from 2 things: cheaters & the ability to pay for kill streaks.
My friend gifted me the game, after a few hundred of hours in the free-to-play Warzone 2. The Campaign in Modern Warfare 2 2022 is great and so is the multiplayer. As far as I'm concerned CoD is still the most fast-paced shooter out there.

Horizon Burning Shores, looks pretty & awesome, perf mode giving 60-80 fps, pretty solid.

Also tried some 30mins of Star wars see what all the fuss about performance is about (actually screwed up and was running stock 4.5 ring instead of 5.2 which significantly improves the asset loading stutters and fps perf was a 5-10fps higher after rechecking ingame)

Agreed, great game. I've been playing Dayz Gone and nearly done (I think). Looks beautiful and I love smashing freak hordes. The post apocalyptic game The Last of Us should have been.

On the verge of buying Fortune Island in FH4.

Somehow I went directly from Spring to Winter and got locked there for the longest time. Adapting to poor weather and scooting around in Rally cars sure looks like an intentional sales tactic. 300 mph in rain on slick race tires along the precipice of large drop offs is sounding more fun than I believe it to actually be.
