I found weird behaviour with hotspot dropping to 70c when screenrecording and edge going up to 57c 58c performance remains the same when this happens, first time i noticed, cos in early days i had a edge temp of 54c once when it was still colder in my room, this is today with airconditioning on at around 21 22c ambient watertemp not exceeding 30c
i suspect really low waterflow being issue altho i know i can hit 41c watertemp at 700 rpm on my fans altho that causes 88c hotspot and 58c edge as well
powercolor still has't answered about being allowed to repaste without voiding warranty and being vague about it but has reported you are allowed to repaste when in America so i guess they either trying to seek boundaries and trying restrict people outside US discriminating users or do not know yet how to answer, honestly how can you even claim its user damage if a sticker is removed unless it happens when repasting the block which is understandable, but i would assume if i repaste and everything go's as planned why would i lose warranty over stupid sticker, really getting annoyed i miss EVGA more every day, every other party then EVGA is obviously so greedy they cant afford warranty for everyone so they must place illigal void warranty stickers on their product.

googling tho i find bunch of users altho really hard to google for hotspot on watercooled 7900 XTX i found quite a few around 75 80c hotspot as well even 90c so guess its normal and card is just bad mounting presure design

Im really curious if others also experience edge temp going up by 5 to 7 maybe 8c with hotspot going down when they screenrecord with amdrelive my temps are consistent so far.

I suspect edge temp to hotspot delta is not an accurate way to tell if good mount either anymore especially with mounting holes being really far from core this time i suspect its more accurate to compare delta across mcd dies gcd rather, altho i suspect not all MCD are loaded equally.

1683231000048.png

ALso 0c delta can be achieved while recording on desktop around 140 150 watts

I am quite enjoying my card in game. I play ghost recon breakpoint and it's running everything at ultra and yes on 1080. A very quiet compared to my old 3080 or 3070. Not a bad card

So appearntly you are allowed to repaste block without voiding warranty if i must believe powercolor, but only in America they do not know about in EU or in Netherlands
Today its running exceptionally hot in my room.
this is at 440 watts.

This is the liquid devil 7900 XTX from powercolor i would let it run for more then a minute but its just gonna keep climbing probably to 110c.

Your Memory Junction temp is too high. It seems that whatever is cooling the Memory is not good enough.

I know it says that but look at the idle temp for the Memory. On a card that is watercooled that is a high difference.

We don't know how long the card has been in idle, maybe the VRAM didn't have enough time to cool down which could depend on the block design. I'd first sort out he hotspot temps.

Those are normal idle temps if heard this was normal plenty of times even seeing people with much higher temps on memory

Seems normal to me, depending on the block design the VRAM chips might not be directly cooled like the GPU core, on my air cooled MBA VRAM idles between 60-70C.

finally got some one to share he's hotspot data but he runs really slow pump speed he only reported 66c hotspot but after running 3D test in occt he instantly hit 80c hotspot about what i hit instantly roughly at about same wattage, i wonder what a 7900 XTX would hit instantly in 3D test in occt cos it hits hard cos lot people report much lower hotspot on those cards then watercooling i suspect it will hit 90 least if only 80 then watercooling feels dead
i suspect a lot of hotspots reported by users aren't at full potential or from games that do not fully utilize gpu even at power limit.
So if you think mine is high you may wanna check yours in occt 3D which usually hits the highest, much higher then furmark.

Webshop told me i am indeed allowed by law to repaste the void warranty stickers webshop basically ignores, altho if they find user damage i lose warranty, but thats obvious, altho i see no reason to hide such damage and try anyway while covering repair fee's

Just put her in tonight.

ASUS TUF 7900 XT OC.

No the image i snot edited, that's my colour scheme.

The idle power consumption at 165hz is amazing, on my previous 6900 XT it would idle at 60 watts of power use unless I dropped it to 120hz.
I just got the same card it was a really tight fit. my PC didn't like it and the motherboard is on its way to RMA as a result.

Heavy ASF card, it was also a tight fit for me but I was very careful.

Not sure if this seen as a normal clock speed but I pushed the core speed up and power target to the max and the card was running DOOM stable at 3.325ghz at just 47c on the GPU core, but the hospost hit 73c. ????

Yeah temps are amazing on this card I'm coming from edge temps of 75c hot spot temps of 105-112c. Rx 6700 xt

This tuf card is so much cooler highest clock speed I pushed it to was about 3.3ghz but crashed shortly after.

Engage you pretty much have the same specs as me too.

I told myself no new hardware this year and I failed twice now :(

First with AMD Ryzen 7700 non-x cpu, X670 board with ram and now the XFX Radeon™ RX 7900 XT Speedster Merc 310 :banghead:

I manage to pick it up second handed for £571 and new price for the PowerColor Hellhound is £792 so I think I got a good deal

Just got the Mo-ra 420 this week still waiting for remaining parts gonna externally watercool my liquid devil see how far down i can push the temps repaste if does not improve within expectations, i will just go to small claims court if they try void my warranty over a missing void warranty sticker, since by law i am allowed to modify so a sticker would prevent that so it would be illigal as result, just hope i pre flushed my mo-ra 420 long enough did 3 times 2 litre flush nothing came out the third time rest of my parts probably arive this weekend or next week probably, i still need to prep it to hang it to the wall hopefully tommorow i can share some pictures.
I hope all go's as planned and that time passes by fast for next winter, cos thats main reason im going external cos the Mo-ra 420 is gonna function as space heater when i ramp up my 7900 XTX to 460 watts
the 7900 XTX seems to heatsoak my loop pretty fast usualy hits max temp in about 10 to 20 minutes.

I thought about picking up a(nother) 6500 XT just as a secondary / spare / shits'n'giggles kind of card, but since the 7600 is only 1.5x the price, but comes with double the VRAM, double the shader cores, has a newer architecture, etc, I'm starting to think why not.

If so, which model have you got? Is it loud? Does it get hot? How is the video playback power consumption? :)

Rx6400 is for sure the display adapter replacement and the 6500xt is the entry level gaming card. Are they for sale yet?

Yeah, both the 6400 and 6500 XT are hated by almost everyone. I've tried them, and they aren't bad, in fact. That's why I thought about picking up something lower-end than my 6750 XT, just to have a little lower-end fun and testing. :)

Custom 7600s are in stock, but the reference AMD card is still "coming soon". Even if I decide to buy, I'll definitely wait for it, not just because a secondary card isn't worth an extra penny to have a custom cooler on, but I also love the compact, minimalist reference design on the 7600.

Getting low 70 hotspot mostly now mid 70 in 1 or 2 games with peeks towards high 70 mostly staying stable around 70c to 75c hotspot now, i like the idea i can potentially drop hotspot temps by doing better thermal aplication altho my delta has decreased somewhat altho i can still get up to 32c delta i am mostly around 25-26c delta right now ignoring peeks, i cannot wait for winter cos i am already seeing better results that i could only achieve at 18c ambient before with open case.

Only doing my liquid devil is externally watercooled currently, may do the rest sometime in the future probably after summer in a couple of months.

Hottest hotspot if seen at 404w tbp was 90c and 95c avg with peeks to 99c at 460 while now i only see about 80c hotspot at around 440w tbp

I may repaste by the end of the month when i fix some stuff and add a flow meter and move my inline filter for easier maintenaince
To give rough estimate of my hotspot temp is usually 50c above watertemp that is either at ambient temp or 1c above ambient usually gets no higher then 2-3c above ambient during a game.

ALso 0c delta can be achieved while recording on desktop around 140 150 watts

I think the hotspot temp is just not something you can really cool well. The majority of power goes into it, it must come out somewhere. If your edge temp remains low though it does mean the chip IHS remains pretty cool, which means that hotspot temp heat transfer is actually mighty fine.

I've seen 22C delta's as well on air and that does happen only when the hotspot temp exceeds 85C. Heavily game dependant that, its not even a power usage thing, the card will readily be at power limit, but still hotspot temp can be anywhere from 76C to 90C. Another thing you can clearly see how it is load/game dependant, is how the hotspot temp instantly drops 10-20C whenever the power does.

Ran AC: Valhalla's benchmark at 4K maxed out (AA on low), with and without a 60fps cap to see how much power/heat output can be lowered:

177 vs. 347 W on average or 49% power savings bode well for the summer, with less fan noise to boot. CPU power consumption was also 20% lower, even at 4K.

And of course I had to run it at 8K next :D

46 fps with 1% and 0.1% lows above 30 looks very playable in my book!
