Yeah and its a difficult balancing act I totally see that, too. If D4 is at the level of Grim Dawn in itemization/customization, I will burn north of 1000 hours no doubt
If its more D3... 100 tops
I've got a 100% fresh and full experience ahead of me... (Reason I didn't do anything preorder or beta, it feels like a major spoil & waste the first impressions tour every time). Might even get into a #firstworldproblem as D4 might not be done for me when Baldurs Gate 3 comes out. OMG. Its been years ago since I had these luxury problems lol
Thats an understandable view, I just like to try out things earlier if I'm given the chance.
Personally I'm trying to keep my expectations realistic even tho its promising, if the end game gameplay/complexity lands somewhere between those 2 games it will be good enough for me.
'GD pretty much nailed it for me in regard of mechanics/itemization and whatnot so I'm not expecting it to be that good but who knows'
I also thought about that 'luxury problem' recently since I was wondering how I'm gonna finish all these games I'm interested in or the games already on my backlog.. Then I did a little reality check for myself realizing that I have much more important things to worry/care about in the first place.
'like finding a new proper/better paying job and just maybe try to find someone cause I'm tired of being alone'
And I will make a mountain out of that problem and die on that mountan while bitching about it. When I feel like it.
I mean nobody is stopping you or anyone, tho I feel thats a futile effort/fight nowadays.
I've also started gaming when non of this was a thing, played D2 exclusively offline singleplayer for ~2 years cause we didn't even have internet connection back then.
'most of my games came from PC magazines in form of CDs with bunch of demos and a full but older game every month'
Don't get me wrong I'm also not a fan of some of these changes to modern games but its just how it is.
Luckily for me these things are not a deal breaker if the game itself is fun and for the most part I sill enjoy gaming as much as I did in my younger days.
'I just play a lot less than I used to obviously'
On a more ontopic side of things, I've installed that Dead Space remake demo on STEAM to check it out so thats my plan for later today.
Had a little demo try out night as planned.
Layers of fear:
Runs well maxed out and theres only a very minimal traversal stutter, looks decent in overall tho I was expecting a bit better from UE 5 in this game after their showcase trailer.
21:9 Ultrawide ratio is broken currently in the game
'devs already know about it' and it doesn't work by default but luckily flawless widescreen saved the day.
Dead Space 90 mins demo:
Runs good enough with Digital Foundry's tweaked settings/RT off.
'minimal difference anyway'
Theres still some traversal stutters when entering a completely new zone but other than that its all good on my end, I did play the original serie back in the days but I have to say this remake looks good and I wouldn't mind playing the full game again.
'I'm not willing to pay more than 25-30$ for a remake tho..'
Btw after the 90 mins ended the game force closed itself to desktop and now STEAM is telling me to buy it so no option to further test it.
'at least not under the same account I guess'
