Hello guys, new on this forum and on the X58 platform, i bought my dream motherboard and CPU form 12 years ago, a Rampage 3 Extreme and a i7 980x for my LAN machine.
I then thought why not trying to use an NVME drive on this old motherboard, so i googled how to do it and found this thread.
Before flashing anything i plugged my noname 512Gig NVME SSD and it was recognized and usable in Windows, then i tried to flash the BIOS on the first page but my 960 EVO nor my 512Gig noname NVME SSD was recognized in the BIOS, so i tried the BIOS moded by @Nomadmain few post ahead and my 960 EVO is recognised in the BIOS as an IDE drive (is this normal ?) but i can't install Windows on it, the installer can't see it and, Windows installed on my SATA SSD can't see it either.
I then tried the noname SSD and it's not recognized in the BIOS but usable in Windows, the opposite of my 960 EVO.
Can someone help me with those issues ?
(And i also found a Meltdown&Spectre patched BIOS here, is it possible for someone to modify it with NVME SSD capability ?)
Thanks a lot guys !
