Normaly I stopped modding BIOS. But this GA-EX58A-UD7 (Rev2) awakes my interest :) - Sorry - this will be my last try to help.
It's a bit strange that latest BIOS FD is 2MB (with nasty EXTBIOS.BIN at the end) and FC only 1MB - But anyway...

This is made out of 100% stock BIOS FC and FD without any former modding of other modules!
I added ONLY your WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD (15B7-501A) - To all others: This is ONLY a Test for bigbenn15.

Try to flash via Q-Flash. Chrecksum should be OK.

I would start with FC BIOS... Be sure that BackupBios is fine if anything went wrong.

Remove any drive and NVMe
Flash BIOS via Q-Flash
Load optimized Defaults
Reboot to BIOS
Set all the stuff I mentioned on the pictures of my other post. Save settings and shut off PC.
Add NVMe and enter BIOS and see if we have luck :)

...FC working and FD have problem, Size incorrect. For people have problem in x58a-ud7 rev2 you need to do exact fluffi444 setup. I will test to install Windows...
Very Good! Nice that FC is working. :toast:
Now you can activate your needed integrated peripherals (Like SATA stuff etc) back again. Step by step - Not all in one session.
And see if some/one of them will make your NVMe disapear again...

I guess I may found the culprit with 2MB FD Bios. For some reason EXTBIOS.BIN must be extracted from an fresh copy of bios everytime. Otherweise I got "Bad Table" if CBROM198fixed. Nerver saw behavior this before. Only CBROM155 works as expected! CBROM155 is known to be the most compatible version with GB BIOSs. But this dempents strong to the BIOS itself... Actually its a trail and error game between versions CBROM115, CBROM155 and CBROM198fixed...

So if you like (and maybe for others) please test X58AUD72.FD also... (Made with CBROM155 now)

You may try to flash the 100% original FD (self extracting mb_bios_ga-x58a-ud7_v.2.0_fd.exe) before! Just to test if this is flashable.

About incorrect size:
And as Regeneration also said - To Flash this 2MB BIOS its needed to flash it with @ bios program once.
(Even this is about Rev1 I guess this is also vaild for Rev2 - in terms of 1MB vs 2MB BIOS)

ALL IN ALL
I would follow this procedure to get FD working.
Flash original 2MB FD BIOS via @ BIOS program
Reboot to BIOS and Load optimized Defaults - Reboot and enter BIOS right away again.
Flash then modded X58AUD72.FD - now with Q-Flash - which now should now work without incorrect size!
And again all the integrated peripherals deactivation stuff mentioned before. (This is only to eleminate all possible reasons why NVMe may not showing up)

OR
You stay with FC and be happy!

Yes working now its ok. For people have This board. You need to use Windows 7 for @bios and use FD original, Windows 11 dont work. When you have setup the bios use Qflash for FD mod now use tuturial of BOSS fluffi444 and voila done, when finish config bios. You are the best ismail is the machine thanks everyone. To install Windows 11 in this board x58a-ud7 rev2 you need unplug rj45 need new drivers and when install drive plug rj45

Very Good !!!!
To all others... The BIOS X58AUD72.FD in particular has ONLY "WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD (15B7-501A)" included - No other NVMe works with this...
If I find the time I'll re-add all the other modules which friend Ismail added before.
Ismail modded BIOS (for UD7 Rev2) from first page seams to have an checksum error.

But as you all can see this BIOS modding can be a mess - Especially If the modder doesn't have the same board for testing.
This was only possible because bigbenn15 was willing to test and followed all the instuctions...
It's undestandable that Ismail wasn't able to handle the numerous request anymore...

I should immediately point out that the NVMe SSD BIOS_MOD Files are Updated as "pure Bios Files" without the Need for Additional Hardware and Software such as DUET, Clover and REFIND.
No Additional Hardware or Software is required.
All you need to do is to update the motherboard bios again and insert your purchased or have nvme ssd drive and install the operating system as "BOOTABLE" bootable.
The content here has taken into account the BIOS Files,
"@Regeneration" for your contribution.
All Files Have Been Backed Up.

The BIOS MOD Files published here do not contain the Universal Module.
Because each X58 model motherboard needs to be added one by one NVMe_Module.
For this, you need to provide the X58 motherboard model and NVMe SSD Device hardware IDs you are using.
For example: PCI/VEN_144D&DEV_A809 it should be something like this.

All Bios Files Dates Reorganized to 2022 and revision numbers are upgraded.

This content will be a Guide for X58/1366 Socket Motherboard Users and I think we will continue to use these amazing motherboards for a while.
I hope it will be a useful topic.
I will try to respond to bios file requests as much as possible..
As of now, BIOS_MOD has been implemented on some motherboards.
Here, I will also present the motherboard models that I have received and have had successful results in TEST processes.
This content is extensible, open to different ideas and applications.
If I give an example from myself;
Although some Gaming Applications do not allow X58/1366 pin Motherboards, they are still useful and stable systems in my opinion.
You can request Nvme SSD bios mod for every Brand and Model X58 Motherboard you use.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
I Completed All NVMe SSD BIOS MOD files for X58/1366 Socket Motherboard..
My Recent Works Are Below.
This Project Has Been Successfully Completed.
I hope this thread will benefit many X58 Users.
All BIOS MOD Files Published Here is a great work that I have created with my own great effort/patience and dedication.
My own special software has been used in bios file modification processes.
What others have said for "AWARD" bios modding;
"Sensitive modules cannot be changed"
The claim has been refuted with real evidence in this study, asserting the opposite thesis.
In short, AWARD bios or any different bios file can be modded and changed.
Each bios file has been handled one by one, and the bios files with successful results are marked.
The Module I used to support NVMe SSD drives in Bios Files was given as FALSE when it was released.
The NVMe SSD module was corrected by me and successful results were obtained.
Bios files that have not received "TEST OK" confirmation will be updated according to data from users.
See you in many more new projects.

Hello, thanks for your awesome work. I have a question.

I found my motherboard at the list "ASUS Rampage III Extreme". I have downloaded your modified version of BIOS by this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Af5fn_9HUVxBDQv7UP3oDkxVzcyBfbhG/view?usp=sharing

There is a file with name R3XTREME.ROM at this container. A problem is that this version of BIOS is not modified it the same as the latest BIOS version "Rampage III Extreme 1502 BIOS" from official ASUS website which can be downloaded by this link https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/rampage iii extreme/helpdesk_bios/.

I have done binary comparison of these BIOS for yours and Asus and they are same. I think you mistakenly upload wrong file.

Please can you upload modified version of BIOS for using of bootable nvme m.2 ssd.

Thanks a lot.

Hi, read my comment why it's not working https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/...2-ssd-bios-mod-collection.299867/post-5005998. I'm waiting a fix too.

I’m afraid he won’t modify any bios anymore :(
There are some lines in the bios for Kingston en WD ssd…

01.jpg

In the R2G Bios Ismail integrated 3 different NVME/SSD (Vendor ID 144D) on the R3E he only choose 1 NVME/SSD (device A808).
To run the 980 SSD disk we need to inject a new rule with 144D:A809 like in the R2G bios.

I don't know how to do this, maybe someone is willing to help me in the right direction!

I don't know how to do this, maybe someone is willing to help me in the right direction!

Here is an easy guide with/for MMTool (scroll up for command-line way with AMIMMWIN.exe)

Ismail used the same PCI ROMs as for Gigabyte BIOS which are HEX edited to match VEN/DEV and added them - which is needed for Gigabyte-Bios.
But the guide on Winraid for AMIBIOS uses ONE "universal" NvmeOpRom.bin for all - which are "only" linked to VEN/DEV by/in MMTool.
Try for yourself which works - maybe both!

I do not have any experience with MMTool & AMIBIOS, only with CBROM and Gigabyte BIOSes - But all in all it looks quite easy (and more easy as for Gigabytes BIOS mess - sometimes... :)

I have patched bios for Asus Rampage III Extreme by analogy as it was done for Asus Rampage II Extreme from this article. You can download it from attachment.

Came back from 10 days break hollidays. ran into a problem. weak cmos battery, cmos reset due to 10 days off plug.
default bios settings include the sata3 on, and it freezes the boot, of course (so unplug nvme, disable sata, replug nvme. the pc case is very heavy, lot of fun after driving 600km)

anyway.

If someone can point me to a direction (forum / topic) so i can learn how to change the default states of the bios settings, to be clear, disable sata3 by default to avoid this kind of surprise.

many thanks and sorry for the kind of off topic.

Edit May 3rd :

I received my X5675 and replaced the intel 920. Computer does Boot Loop (3 seconds on, turns off, 3 seconds on, etc)
I checked, it seems the modded bios has indeed the good microcode for this cpu
the 920 boots fine
the X5675 wont boot.

removed all drive, nvme of course, minimal GT710 video card, 1 or 3 memory stick as adviced for debugging, nothing works, the GA-X58A-UD7 rev1 wont boot the X5675.

i doubt the cpu is fried. could be, but i doubt it.

hesitating to reflash with another bios, scared to brick the mother board "downgrading" from the nvme bios.

any advice ?

Edit 2 : there are missing contacts on the x5675...........

ALL IN ALL
I would follow this procedure to get FD working.
Flash original 2MB FD BIOS via @ BIOS program
Reboot to BIOS and Load optimized Defaults - Reboot and enter BIOS right away again.
Flash then modded X58AUD7A.FD - now with Q-Flash - which now should now work without incorrect size!
And again all the integrated peripherals deactivation stuff mentioned before. (This is only to eleminate all possible reasons why NVMe may not showing up)

This is just to finalize this side projekt of Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 (Rev.2!) latest FD BIOS (2MB):
This attached BIOS X58AUD7A.FD is now fully modded with the available PCI ROMs, based on Regenerations BIOS with Spectre/Meltdown patched - As this BIOS is almost full now, no addition of further ROMs possible anmore without removing others. The compatible NVMe Models can be found by shown VEN-DEV.BINs on the picture (PCI ROM E to U). No further modding here from my side on this one.

What a hassle after hollidays...

In theory there must be a way to set/change standard settings. Some tools were able make this - But those tools (eg modbin6, awdbedit) cannot fully handle our Award Modular Bios 6.00PG anymore.
They work only with other/older BIOS version... As faar as I know... Most/Best still working tools are for AMIBIOS (like MMTool, AMIBCP)...
I searched a lot during the beginning of my BIOS modding history and found nothing than HEX editting an uncompressed ROM for such tasks - But for this we need to know which ROM module to edit and more impotant were in HEX code! That means digging really deep into the BIOS structure... If I were you - Just buy a fresh battery and choose another project :)
Otherwise on WIN-RAID forum there are some/many information - I started the lerning there years ago... Google for "win-raid award bios modding" for instance.
There are some PRO Users like Ethaniel, eierhals, Lost_N_BIOS whom all digging deep - But I don't know if they are still active in old BIOS modding.

Start here - for your digging :)

ASUS P6T Deluxe

I have a ASUS P6T Deluxe. If I flash the bios to this mod what drives will it support? I can buy one already modded in the bios. Thank You

The P6T Deluxe is very similar to my P6X58D Premium and i am able to use both the Samsung 970 and 980 Pro drives. I hope this helps.

similar is not good enough. bios size, different modules included by the manufacturer leaving less free space. dont think this way.
use the tool to see what modules are in the bios for your specific motherboard (mmtool, cbm forgot the name, 4am here, you ll forgive me)
the IDs can be checked on websites that compile all manufacturers / models of device
then you re sure, and you can buy.
i guess the sam 980 will be in it as it s a bestseller, it would seem logical that Ismail included it by default in all bioses
but i red a couple days ago someone had downloaded a bios and made a bit by bit check, and the bios was not modded. Ismail can make mistakes, he modded a ton of bioses, mistakes happen

so, check with the good tools and be _sure_ before you buy the nvme, money has a cost those days.

worse case scenario, make the mod yourself, the method is a couple posts up, it s not very hard to do, just need to be methodic and check everystep to avoid making a bricking bios.

goodluck :)

The samsung evo 970 is listed for his x58 mb. Just scroll all the way down where you see you your mb bios listed and you will see the samsung evo 970 listed. IF, it doesnt work return the evo.....no harm no foul. It will work.
