I mean, for the price its a pretty meh card especially at the price point. They really downgraded the card with the lower memory bus and not upping the memory (Except on the $100 more model). I mean, at the moment there is no true competition for it but hopefully that changes soon.

Great review as always W1zzard! - but giving this card a highly recommended award just turned that award into a meme. Don't cave to NV, I know they pay bills but this card doesn't deserve this award. No matter how much mental gymnastics one does.

This review singlehandly made me wary of any product with that sticker.
Well done.

xx60 series in the past used to bring last generation performance affordable, for example the performance of the rtx 4060 supposed to be equivalent to rtx 3800 and yet to be half price of the rtx 3080, that is how used to be, nowadays the rtx 4060ti brings 5% better performance than a 3060ti while costing higher than a 3060ti. That is a fail and the issue here is that idiots keep buying it, reason nvidia is doing this in the first place. Stop buying these products, let nvidia feel the pain, boycott it.

2 years ago the 8 GB VRAM didn't limit you to 1080p gaming, and it's not like this resolution gained popularity. Even at 1080p, 8GB VRAM can be a hard bottleneck. You're paying for a GPU obsolete on arrival, so it needs to be very cheap.

I play at 4K on my 3060ti...

It's a shitshow... Average FPS don't show the whole picture. Just look at the time frame analysis where 128 bit bus shows it's ugly head.
MS spikes are even worse than 3060TI at anything above 1080p. No wonder Ngreedia wants to push xx60 class being 1080p GPU now :banghead:

What a deal!
For only 25% more money you get unbelievable 5% more performance!

Mind explaining how 3060ti got "bottlenecked" over the 6700xt with 12GB ?

I know a lot of people lover their "gigabytes" and such but when you try to play something in a scenario that realistically needs more than 8GB of VRAM the same card with more VRAM will in fact yield as much as 30% maybe more FPS increase but you be comparing 10fps vs 13fps, unplayable either way. So anything more than 8GB is just a waste.
If you do feel that you need faster card getting the same card with more vram is not the solution you just need higher tier card.

What an absolute joke of price on this card. This card is 25% more expensive than the 3060 Ti it replaces, but is only a aggregate maximum of 11% faster?

This seems to be their best attempt at scamming uninformed customers with frame generation so they can say that it's 60% faster, when in reality it's an embarrassing 11%.

Performance Per Dollar graph indicates that this isn't a good deal until it gets around $325-350.

If I could do Steam on PS5/Xbox I would never build a gaming machine.
Right now I would just buy the Asus Rog Ally and use it as handheld, console and a laptop and call it a day.

Now do frametimes on AAA games launched in 2023 and you'll see the stuttering mess that is the 3060 Ti compared to the 6700XT.

Out of the hundreds of performance results in this review, only 3 are with DLSS 3 enabled. I see not even a hint that you must use DLSS 3 for this card to work well
come on man. Don't be selective with my quote, when it fits your agenda. If you're going to quote me quote the whole the thing. & just bold the part you want to emphasize

Possible for its fore seeable future. Especially if you keep the card for more that 2 years, with its lack of Vram.
I'm going to Bet in two years or less, it's going to have to have D.L.S.S 3 enable to play any new triple A title.

Which makes seem less like an upgrade to last for people, & more like a side-grade.

If you're not into DLSS or FSR and don't give a rip about RT (like me), I'd rather pick up a 6750XT at Micro Center for $380. You'd get similar performance to the 4060Ti, but you'd be hit with a higher power draw of upwards of 100W when gaming, but you get 12GB VRAM.

I can understand a higher power draw could be a factor here in the comparison for some, but it doesn't make much of a difference in the long run for electricity cost for me.

4060Ti: 160W gaming for 20 hours a week would cost me: $0.38 (or almost $20 for a year)
6750XT: 260W gaming for 20 hours a week would cost me: $0.61 (or almost $32 for a year)
$12 difference in power - two years for me to play games and equal the cost of a 4060Ti 8GB if I picked up a 6750XT now (of course this is just a rough generalization, actual costs may be a touch higher depending on overall system use).

I tend to keep cards 4-6 years. With that in mind, in the end I would be spending at least $24 more using a 6750XT over using a 4060Ti over a 4 year period. In that timeframe I can expect that the extra 12GB of VRAM may just be well worth that extra $24 over the course of 4 years consider how we're starting to see some games come through where 8GB VRAM can be a hinderance.

I find these conclusions more balanced:

GamersNexus: "Do Not Buy! NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB GPU Review & Benchmarks"

HardwareUnboxed: "Laughably Bad at $400: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 Ti Review"

With that being said I still appreciate TPU extensive benchmarking. It's not their fault they have to make a living in Ngreedia's destructive environment.

If you reduce the details, the VRAM memory is not an obstacle. If you want to use the larger amount of memory using maximum details, yes, probably the stuttering caused by the GPU will be bearable knowing that you have tons of VRAM.
Why play with high details at 100 fps when you can use the extra memory by playing ultra with 50 fps?

6750 xt 12GB got a price drop on Newegg to 330. Also there's used 6800 xt's 16GB on Ebay for 415.

The 6800 xt is actually pretty tempting to me. It was designed to run games at max settings in 1440p. That's a last gen xx80 series card. =o

I can’t decide what’s worse anymore.

Monumentally over priced 4080 or

Last gen performance, at last gen price, with the added benefit of no latency improvements and additional artifacting by turning on DLSS 3

What a treat. Also, no shot this got any kind of recommendation, what a sad tech world we live in.

Why play with high details at 100 fps when you can use the extra memory by playing ultra with 50 fps?

Because setting a single setting, Textures, from High to Ultra will make most games look noticeably better for a tiny and usually impercievable fps reduction, not that laughably large 50% you tossed out. Well, unless you run out of VRAM which this card will do way before a cheaper 6700 XT. That's an OK thing to happen at $270-300, not $400 in the 4060 Ti.

Show me the game where you lose half the fps when setting textures from High to Ultra. LOL and importantly with which card (hint: the ones that run outta VRAM).

Errr that's a big bag of "meh"

Well, glad I bought what I bought for 450... because I surely wouldn't want to pay 400 for that one...

plus it will not be 400 for a FE Where I live and an equivalent custom model from it will probably cost south of 600...

Not really worth a recommendation
Even with the perf and consumption difference (which are not that high)

No more than -2 to 3% or so. W1z has done many other GPU scaling comparisons with older PCIe versions and going down one step is never more than 2-3%. You won't notice the difference.
