You don't need to give away badges.
Especially not for a new $400 graphics card that places like this in cost-per-frame:

View attachment 297211

And this isn't even considering the terrible longevity of the product.
I don't understand the problem? I see comparatively it's competing with the 6700XT at +$50, you get all those NVidia whiz-bang technologies, lower power consumption, NVEC, and on 8x PCIe bus allows you to do something useful with the remaining 8x. I would only consider this for a PCIe 4.0 motherboard though. If you had a bad experience with AMD one might get 4060Ti if they cannot afford 3070 or 6800. I see they are filling a gap in a price point so perhaps little value there.

I can see the grainyness of AI upscaling and I sparingly use that but I seriously don't see any loss of detail with FG. I'm down to see whatever you guys are talking about though. To me FG on vs off is so close I can't tell the difference. I personally use FG every chance and I bet you guys will one day too.
QFT

Oh interesting, that is noteworthy.
You can easily test this yourself, cap the FPS to 40 or something and check whether you can spot anything. I tried, it's VERY hard. Record a video, step through frame by frame, you'll know what to look for, and can see it when playing the "find the error" game, i.e. not the actual game. The FPS lock will mess with the frame pacing though, so it's not representative of the latency experience

Ofcourse higher end models are released first, and then the cut down versions of it. So how is that a dissapointment?

it's just exactly what you get.

Nothing wrong with the performance. The issue is that this should have been the 4060 at $300 and then the reviews would be praising it for offering a very good perf/$ improvement over the older 3060 with maybe some niggling issues around 8GB vs 12GB but with the price point it would get a pass.

The entire NV stack outside of the 4090 is a tier higher than it should be and this is the result.
nailed it.

My Gigabyte 2070 is starting to show intermittent signs of hardware issues (flickering, horizontal lines) but I'm gonna try and skip this gen.

I like your thinking, "recommended on-sale" is a bit too complex for an award graphic though. Any other ideas?
based on the power consumption and energy efficiency "Recommended for SFF" ?

For exampe, I wouldn't recommend Highmark health insurance in the US simply because they are the best option out of a bunch of turds.
So you rather have no health insurance? At least you can flee your 3rd world country, no such option on the GPU market, it's a monopoly

Woo, you guys were really reaching to make that pros list longer, weren't you? A backplate is a pro on a $400 card now.
This is actually the $199 card, look at the PCB design, so yes. Length doesn't matter

The 6700Xt has more memory, longevity, isn't gimped in anything teasing it's memory and is cheaper, I think comes with a game at the moment or will soon.

And Finally, IF you have the choice, Don't reward a company passing you a turd in a gold wrapper.

Or next time you'll get a smaller turd in the same wrapper.

Just look at Nvidia's last 3 generations for proof year on year. .

@W1zzard it's not a monopoly.

Please strive to Not make it one, please.

IE choose words sometimes despite yourself it's clear you use only Nvidia personally, and really love dlss 3 and Fg, but chill on the love, your making some of us blush.

I specially like the 5nm being a pro. like that even matters on a product evaluation lol. The consequences of using 5nm can be pros but the node used itself is not a pro. This is just artificially inflating the pros list. and 16-pin adapter included? it shouldn't even use a 12vhpwr cable in the first place for a product with this TDP. Man, this pros list is just crap.

How on the planet can you reach a Highly Recommended verdict when Gamer's Nexus and Hardware Unboxed, among others, have reached the exact opposite?
Which entity is more important to protect?
Consumer, or mega multibillion corporation?
Disappointed. Just as with the Guru3D review.
What's happening here that makes Youtubers reach these negative verdicts that criticize harshly the corporation, while websites with such long-standing tradition such as Guru3D and TPU do the opposite?

Someone further up in the thread had a nice explanation how NVIDIA used to structure their lineup in the past, and how it has changed over the past few generations
I'm not sure if you think you're responding to someone else's point or what, but this doesn't address the point I made at all.

When the market isn't providing compelling products, reviewers should hold companies to account and not excuse overpriced products as "well it's currently the best in the market" when those companies are the one's determining the value of each product in the market in the first place and they are objectively and historically bad value.
Exactly.

The old media is dying/dead.
For consumer friendly content you need to go to Youtube, they are not afraid to tell nvidia to fk off.
And nvidia cant really deny those reviewers, because if gamer nexus/hub/linus don't get the cards no one will believe the legitimacy of the old media reviews...
Remember when nvidia tried that on hub few years back? That went well.
That's how it is now.

Hell, even linus gave a pretty bad review... The tittle is misleading.

Obviously but that wouldn't change MY mind because I don't just pay for performance, not that this card has any without dlss3 magic pony mode.

Like, I want to get to work Fast,, but I didn't get a motorbike, I wanted more for the cash, kin heated seats , comfort for a few years AND pace, which again is missing here!?

It Is a personal scale, I believe other Engineers will also abide by.

Still I like this release. It's dropped down prices of other cards based on it's own price. I'm pretty sure the new meta for this teir is this, a new 6750 xt, or a used 6800 XT now that there's been a few price drops today.
