The answer the one thing I want my 2-year old daughter to learn about social media algorithms
Personally, while I agree that outrage sells, I think it's a bit unfair to characterize the situation as such (in this case). Sure, GN and HBU also provide fan service and want clicks, but at the same time they also provide data to back their conclusions up.
I would agree that we have likely effed ourselves up with social media and the completely fake interactions on it. IMO classic forums are vastly superior for discussion. It's just tragic that we're in the stage where attempting to manipulate less Internet savvy viewers into some sort of emotional state that makes them more prone to consume your content is a legitimate money making strategy. Creates nothing of use and will just continue to degrade and decay the web.

I kept my 2060 Super for ~3.5 years and the plan was always to upgrade to 4060 Ti. So glad I got a used 6800XT for $380 instead. 3060 Ti was faster than 2080, 4060 Ti is slower than 3070. This card is lame af.

Forums are just echochambers, they are just different echochambers.

I'm sure TPU got a lot more clicks from reddit over the outrage over the conclusion though compared to previous TPU reviews. You're both media looking for clicks, don't act innocent and imply YTer are the ones looking for attention ;)

If you've seen it and don't like it, that's fine. I just think people are making problems up about it personally and have never actually seen it IRL.

I'm serious, implore you to see it in person if you can. You can take 4k games running at 70 Hz and easily bring it up to 120hz without any loss of detail (For me personally I guess?) And I am a serious quality nit picker. It's visually a better enhancement then AI Upsaling easily.

People talk about it like it's witchcraft and even if they had a 8900 XTX they would never turn it on and I dunnoooo, I think you just might.

Alright, continue to ignore the fact reputable reviewers have hard evidence of these artifacts. Use it all you want, but the facts are there to see and not hearsay such as “but I personally have never seen them”.

It’s hard to be a stickler about visual quality when you don’t notice artifacting such as this, or maybe your monitor has bad enough ghosting/smearing and response time to not notice some of these issues.

I go away to lunch for two hours and come back five pages later... wtf...

1. a few here might actually care about the award thing, but honestly I think majority of comments here are just groupthink baiting/trolling
2. if you actually do care this much about a gpu's vram size, you really need to re-evaluate your life, ask yourself what is happiness, and meditate on the Cosmos
3. if I were a mod, I'd be cleaning this thread and locking it, nonsense.

W1zz's website is doing an all time best from what I can gather, he doesn't give a shit about a few extra clicks from reddit. seriously, try to use logic and reason before you post folks.

Agreed. These sites will make more money and grow a larger fanbase riding the internet hype train. Like I am %100 here for people saying there's better options out there but if they won't take the time to research their options then it's kind of pointless to me. It's still one of the most viable options at this price but it's just not the best.

This is legit the way to do it dude. Used 6800 XT is such a power house for that price. Glad to see people starting to get prices like it's 2019 again.

He was implying his colleagues on YT are selling outrage for clicks as defense over difference in conclusions for the 4060Ti review. Not something to do if you're trying to be professional IMO.

I misread it then, my apologies. Just a lot of emotions about a $400 gpu in the year 2023, I think we are better than this as a species is all. My only reaction was in post 3 of this thread, and I just said very meh. that's it, end of comment section, thread could have been locked after that, and we all could have had a nicer afternoon.

Less than 1% clicks for this review is from Reddit, the vast majority is from people going to tpu and navigating to the review on-site, then some via google search for "rtx 4060 ti review", also some from Facebook

cmon don't put words in my mouth

They already know this, they just like wasting other peoples time. On that note, I am unwatching this thread and going to enjoy rest of my day. I recommend you do the same mate.

Yeah I actually enjoyed the conversation too much and @3x0 made me sad instead

Sorry if you meant it another way, mentioning of "understanding of social media algorithms" as a response to "why youtubers reached the highly critical views of 4060Ti" in my mind implied heavily that they're doing it for outrage clicks.

I'm using a LG CX as my monitor, it's pretty clear. I personally can see the difference with RTX on and off so I'm really a graphics buff.

I'm just saying to try it out one day because I've seen it in person and it's better than people say. If you think reviewers are more right then your own eyes and you'll never need to see it, okay. Just never use FG ever in your whole life then? This reminds me of the "The human eye can't see above 120Hz" and then years later 120hz is the new standard. I honestly believe FG will be the same thing.

4060 Ti is supposed to substitute 3060 Ti 70 at the same P/p. Nothing wrong, just very disappointing for upgraders. It's like the 40 series is doing a recap of 20 and 30 as well.

4060/Ti is 2080/Ti. 4070/Ti is 3080/Ti because we didn't see much of 30, it's a miner's card. And 4080/90 are a class of their own. Ideally i would want 8704 Cuda and 16Gb at 799 so this isn't for me anyway.

Trolling in Reviews
What exactly would you buy instead? and why? Curious to understand your train of thought. I shared my thoughts on that in the last part of the conclusion. I've updated all prices in the review 2 hours ago today, so they should be accurate and good for you to use
How about the 6750 xt for around 300? Why isn't that in your comparison chart. You even reviewed it. What's the excuse? Also, I own a 3070, 3080 and 6900 xt. Do you even re-benchmark older cards when new gpus come out? The performance numbers on both sides are decently higher in my tests than yours with the most recent drivers. Seems like you're just getting lazier and lazier. Pretty sure you'd slap 5 stars on a graphics card that did nothing but sing you a lullaby for 800$. When YouTubers put in 10x the amount of effort you do and they record it and edit it, it's pathetic. I'm glad I block ads on this steaming piece of site.

Here you go.

Im not saying I’ll never use it, but when it’s someone’s job to review software and graphics technology, let’s just say I’m not going to take word of some random forum goer who conveniently ignores documented ‘facts’ and then tries to pass off his ‘opinion’ as such while dismissing any sort of evidence.

Any element whether it hardware or software will be disabled/unused as long as motion clarity and visuals are degraded. If such technologies ever meet my standards I’ll use them personally.

The conclusion is way too positive.

The fact that AMD's RDNA 3 is a disaster, because it really offers nothing new in performance in games, doesn't mean that we should have to accept the current situation and start looking the glass half full for a $400 8GB graphics card that is just 12% faster than the 2 years old card that replaces. Not to mention with less bandwidth and less cores. And I haven't read the review, so maybe there is somewhere mentioned about textures not loading, but I doubt it. With YouTube channels pointing at a numerous cases with textures not loading, because of the limitation that 8GB VRAM IS today, talking only about frame rates, ignoring textures looking like a 2000 game temporarily while playing and making excuses about "well it loads all VRAM but it doesn't really uses all of it" in the conclusion, means that the reviewer either has a different opinion or refuses to REALLY see the VRAM limitation. And yes there are thousand of games that don't need 8GB of VRAM. And probably none of those games is the game that the buyer of the 4060Ti would want to play. Probably the game the buyer wants to play is that ONE game where the 8GB VRAM limitation IS an issue.

Anyway, dissapointed by the conclusion, because it more or less says
"Here are a bunch of excuses, this is the current market situation, accept it, shut the f up and pay $400 because there isn't an alternative".

"highly recommended" for a product that its only 9% faster than the one its replacing, sorry not on my book

While I'm not so versed on Nvidia (just have a 1060 3gb, 1050 super, and K600) the 4060Ti doesn't look like a bad card to me, (haven't finished reading the review but it looks middle of the pack) the price point seems very unlikeable for sure.
On the AMD side I have some hd card from 2009, r5 200?, rx560d, rx5500xt, rx5700xt, rx6700xt so I'm not firmly in one camp or the other. Just always looking for deals for what meets my needs.
- I can understand the vram arguments and one can justify more vram should probably be a thing (rx5500xt w/ 8GB was fairly good I thought)
- 16x vs 8x bus change I don't think really matters.
- What's the deal with AV1 encoding? Can I utilize that with Handbrake and Plex?

this is the current market situation, accept it, shut the f up and pay $x because there isn't an alternative
You know, you are actually not wrong, on the other hand this applies to everything in life? (that's why I replaced $400 with $x in your quote)

If this card was $75 cheaper then people would be raving over it. $75 ain't enough for me to rage over lol.

Probably even $50, i.e. less than one AAA game
