It's a 4050 that barely beats a 3060 Ti for a 4060 Ti price. While the 3060 Ti beat the 2080 Super at 4K. Stagnation, thy name is Nvidia.

You are right, but Turing was a rare a family with a beast of 754mm² (2060 has the same size than TitanXP). A architecture divided into two parts, 2060-2080Ti and 1630-1660Ti. There are two x60. The 2060 & 1660 and 1660Ti, and only one x60Ti ,XD.I agree that this should be a 4050, but even the 3050 failed to consistently match the "vanilla" 2060.
This 4060Ti is really trying in my opinion since it's in a higher volume price range.
Wise. 4060Ti 8GB is one of the most problematic cards in recent years due to poor generational uplift over 3060Ti, uninspiring hardware and bad value for buck considering other, older GPUs on the market. The value of all positives mentioned, such as efficiency, software perks, design, 5nm, etc. is there, but those positives are lost when Nvidia cannot make basic hardware right for the price they want to charge for it. Gone are the times when aggressive marketing of software perks, such as DLSS, was an effective selling point, driving away buyers' attention from hardware.I'm removing the Recommended award for now and will explore options how to restructure our awards. Good night everyone

The RTX 4060 is probably between the 3060 and 3060 Ti.This bodes very badly for the vanilla 4060, which is heavily cut-down from the 4060Ti.
The only good thing the 4060 might have going for it is power-efficiency....

Last I checked, 1070 is tech. To claim someone on a tech form is "less techie" than someone else simply because of the hardware they have is absurd.
That out of the way - as I've been check out other reviews of the 4060Ti and reading posts about them, it seems like it's unanimous that this is a turd of a card at the price point. Should Nvidia come out right away and shave off $50 it could be a touch more enticing for folks looking for a new card in this performance range. Nvidia needs to give people a reason to keep looking at them at this price point instead of giving AMD's 6700XT/6750XT cards a time to shine simply due to similar performance + more VRAM.

Samsung GDDR6W has 64-bit I/O data pins which is a major evolution over GDDR6 / GDDR6X's 32-bit I/O data pins.Wise. Gone are the times when aggressive marketing of software perks, such as DLSS, was an effective selling point, driving away buyers' attention from hardware.
Hardware Unboxed and Gamers Nexus knocked the card down hard and deconstructed it completely. This included extensive reasoning in their videos... As Steve put it, paraphrasing, the only 4060Ti that should ever have been released is 16GB model, for ~$350. Additional 8GB is not worth $100, let alone $500 for entire card.
My impression is that tech community is sending a clear message to AMD and Nvidia that this must be the last 60 class generation with 8GB of VRAM and small gen-to-gen uplift in performance. It's time to move on after many years on 8GB, and game developers are tired of it too, forcing them to continue to optimize for 8GB when consoles from three years ago use 12GB. It feels like a major shift and modernisation of hardware needs to happen next year.
If Nvidia wants to charge a premium over AMD, they need to provide more VRAM, better video ports and more enabled cores on dies. Software perks alone are not worth this premium and increasing number of tech savvy buyers have realised this. It's easy to quickly check stuff and compare over internet nowadays like never before. Also, it cannot be the case that they skip DP 2.1 ports that cost $2 and still charge over $1,000 for high-end cards with seven years old video ports.
5050 - (160-bit) - 10GB; Ti (192-bit) - 12GB
5060 - (192-bit) - 12GB; Ti (256-bit) - 16GB
5070 - (256-bit) - 16GB; Ti (320-bit) - 20GB
5080 - (384-bit) - 24GB; Ti (448-bit) - 28GB
5090 - (448-bit) - 28GB; Ti (512-bit) - 32GB
I don't support NVIDIA's mid-range GPU stagnation.1. Bruh chill out and grab a beer man.

$299 4060, $350 4060 Ti 8GB, and $400-420 4060 Ti 16GB would of probably been the more realistic price point of still charging a premium/not looking weak to investors but still being somewhat worth buyingI agree this is pathetic at 400 usd.

Well, my mortgage is paid off and RTX 4090 is less than a 1-week salary, but I'm mindful of the less well-off PC gamers in the PC community and I still remember the "struggle street" situation.I could buy a 4090 right now if I wanted, its not on my radar at the moment, I am enjoying my steam deck and a love for older games at the moment. Most likely I will get a 7900 XTX, but I am considering waiting for 7950 XTX. It's not that hard to get a second part time job on weekends though or evenings, would only take about 2-3 months of doing that to buy a 4090, maybe less. Don't have to do the part time job forever, I know not all countries are like the USA, but it is very easy to get a part time job in USA at the moment. I recently sold my 6800 XT, because I do actually intend to get my dream high end gpu either this year or next year, just using a budget card/backup card in the 1070 in the mean time.

Starting at 460EUR (incl. VAT) here in Finland. What a time to be alive.400$ for 8GB card in 2023? Take my money!
Not close to what ? I basically said 20% reduction in price would of been more logical to the consumer while not looking weak to investors.
Not even close bud.
