Wireless doorbell broke (Speaker lines snapped off when the thing took a tumble and split open.) An old HP PC speaker is now replacement. Suddenly not feeling like such a sucker for keeping that thing for as long as I did after disposing of the remainder of the machine.

That one, hmm , card has a backplate, assuming back plate is of metal, I could see that one on the back plate after filling the gaps between board and backplate with thermal pads or putty in the gpu area to stick it there for more effectiveness. But hey modders design choice or style.
Hopefully this wont give manufactures any ideas about 5.5 , 6 ,6.5 slot graphics cards.

At the current rate of development they'll reach the size of an average car battery. Might as well make them self sufficient power wise at that point since they will require enough juice to cold start an industrial vehicle.

That is 6x16Gb ECC Reg
Still waiting for +2 dimms. So it will be 8x16Gb 1Rx4 ddr4 ecc reg hynix DJR 3200@4000. It is cheap but not as common as 2133-2933 dimms.
For this cpu the dual rank per channel gives the best performance. It is quad channel cpu and that is why i need 8 stick single rank or 4 sticks dual rank.

Not a mod but ghetto repair.
I received a faulty chinese motherboard, SZMZ-X99 or something. No boot, just black screen.
H81 chipset total low end, only dual channel, VRM is good but i dont recommed unlocked cpu in this mobo (or anything above 135w TDP)
Ok so diag card display DB or BD error that is faulty bios flash. (i put 1620v3 cpu, and geforce 7200gs first just for safety)
It's alive!!!
USB flasher tool, reflashing with my old thinkpad. Added all core hack -50mv and unlocked bios memory timing option (random chinese x99 bios).
No heatsink on the cpu, but i dont care because these xeons are unkillable.
I only have an installed win7 in legacy so i cant test the all core hack but it is stable.
Next is Xeon E5-2698v3 with Spire Socket370/socketA cooler and HD6570 (it is a sapphire but with gigabyte uefi bios)
