Latest hw related purchase: a twin monitor vertical monitor desk stand/mount(comes with both, I mean it can be desk affixed to a flat surface or vertically affoxed) , 2 vertical monitor post/stand/desk setup.
It would have been to close /up in ones face as is with the current desk.
Some while ago , on the job, driving , in the middle of the road , my lane , was a 1x piece of timber(new) 5ft by 2,3/4" by 1,1/4, dry. Cleared the debris on the road , only so that months later I've put it to good use.
le: dimensions and condition of the wood.

I had these old copper sinks so I removed the adhesive that was like tar and then made homemade copper cleaner with vinegar and baking soda. And there you are.

I might have given a thought to cut half in half , thus saving a full length half for later use.

Found a Redragon K618 at the Thrift store. Missing the 2.4Ghz transmitter (looking for an option there), Bluetooth isn't working well (probably why it ended up there), but USB C wired works great, and all the functions (macros, rgb, etc) work fine :).

Score! That's a nice KB! Blue Brown or Red? Or do you know? Take off one of the keycaps and it'll be obvious.

EDIT: Also, might have a dead battery. May want to open it up to investigate. Replacements are easy to source. I really like Redragon, let me know if you'd like some assistance.

Thanks :) They're reds :). I keep hoping to grab a blue or brown; considering a switch tester just to make sure what I'm looking for.
No, it seems to charge just fine. I actually found some other people having issues and they did the "update" from the Redragon software, and cleared up some of their issues, so I tried it, and it worked like a charm. Reset everything, and did the connect procedure, works great :). I do wish I could find a replacement wireless dongle, or figure out how to pair it to a different one, but I'll survive :) thanks!

Odometer / Trip meter was a little hard to read at night. I stuck an extra bulb in the hole and connected it like this temporarily. This was about 14 years ago. I pulled the gauge cluster to work on something else and was scratching my head for a good 20 minutes on why there were wires coming out.

I try to mod my laptop speaker yesterday, here how it goes.

It's a bottom firing speaker, when I hear the speaker head-on it sounds pretty good but when its bottom firing really depends on the proximity of where I placed it and also the hardness of the surface.

stk.jpg

When I see the speaker holes, I wanted the sound to comes out from the side not from the bottom holes so it could comes out clearer

side.jpg

So I take some thin aluminum plate, tape it with double sided tape and spray some rubber paint on them to redirect sound

al.jpg

So how does it go? It sounds crap lol even with rubber paint and double tape it rattles, it does gives a bit more volume but...sound quality is terrible. Not everything is bad, the speaker can be turned around and if I can punch a hole through the plastic case I can turn it to front facing speaker. But I wanted this to be proper I may need to buy a proper Dremel and some fine grill. Maybe another time...

I ordered a Thermaltake SMART BX1 750W for use with a motherboard that has a 20-pin ATX connector. The PSU's box, booklet, and the amazon page I ordered from each list a 20+4 pin connector.... but this is 24 pins! No worries! An X-ACTO knife and some electrical tape (not pictured) gets the job done :)
image.png

I did try plugging in the 24-pin connector as-is but some components on the mobo got in the way

It's summer and my gpu smells funny when it's own fans don't spin. So luckily I have tons of accessories for my Mercury S8, and a couple of daisy-chained fans to spare.
Merc_summer_mode.jpg
Now I did have MSI afterburner before this mod but it wasn't consistent. As soon as I have my printer I'll fabricate a nice pcie bracket for 120/140mm fans.

May be the (soft) thermal pad oils cooking off that we sometimes find on MBs and GPUs.

It smelled the same as a wire burning but considering I don't smell it with my glorious ghetto mod I'm gonna leave it as is. Maybe in the future I'll take it apart..if when the warranty expires

This is a real product, but something about it feels ghetto. PCIe Sata controller with 2x 2.5" drive bays. I got it so I can unplug a single card instead of swapping multiple drives when I need to boot into Windows or Linux. I can dual boot, but Windows and Linux like breaking each other for whatever reason, so separate drives it is. I'm aware there's PCIe hot swap drive bays as well, but this thing was like a 1/4 the price.

I was bored at the workshop today. My main rig only had shitty $5 speakers (barely good enough to watch YT), so I decided to fix this by reviving a dead bluetooth boombox.
Just wanted some music to play in the background while I was fixing my equally shitty ghetto e-scooter.

Found a PAM8610 module in one of my boxes, cut the old electronics out of equation, fixed it up with some hot glue, and now I have a semi-passable 2x10w "soundbar".

The SATA connector broke from a SSD so I carefully inserted the broken piece inside a SATA cable and taped it to the drive with electrical tape.

Think I already posted this, what to do if you have microATX mobo with too close PCIe x1 card to GPU? Use PCIe x1 'relocator'. Flash makes the dust looks 1000% worse lol

slot.jpg

Though by using this it have that odd noise through the speaker when you move your mouse or do something, so I put some anti static bag around the soundcard. The PCIe power connector is properly dange around there so the anti static bag is covering the bottom and side of the card. I put a smaller anti static bag on top near the analog side of the card. No more that irritating eeeee when mouse moves.
