I do not have this pc any more after i moved to AM4. But my old X58 had some Ghetto mode to it i think. I zip tied some fans to the motherboard chipset cooler back in the summer 2018. Because that summer was insanely dry and hot for what is normal in my country. So to keep my cpu running oc, i had to help the passive cooled chipset to get ridt of heat. Also mounted new fans on the CPU cooler (noctua Nh-D14 with 3 new noctua IPPC 3000 rpm 120 mm fans and i replaced the Antec Twelve Hundred old original fans with new Corsair ML120 mm fans and some fan controllers). All to keep my pc ruuning cool when oc in that extreme heat that summer, but also because some of the old fans was beginning to fail (bearing noises was beginning to come).
Ugly or not, it worked like a champ that summer and the rest of the time i had id for 3 years after until i in 2021 mooved on to a dual AM4 system and is my curent pc.
How great dit it work? Well i could get my I7 980X up to 4,75 GHz at 1.55 volt a cold winter day stable. Not possible in the summer however. But 4,75 ghz on that CPU aircooled is apselutely great.
