I have to ask, how often do you win on the lottery?

In the words of @Space Lynx all I do is win.

Joking aside I don't even post half the stuff I buy only the mildly interesting stuff lol.

And as I like to say I won the lottery when I met my wife no need to play the normal lottery.

it do be true, let's recap:

ryzen 5600x3d @ 205 dollars including tax
XFX 7900 XT @ $705 including tax ($605 if we include Starfield)
capable MSI mobo @ $109
the best air cooler around the FC140 @ $43
ram is dirt cheap for everyone these days, but it was 80 for my 4 sticks.
my high quality monitor was only $125 on a crazy ass lightning sale direct from NZXT store
NZXT H710 case (by the far the best/highest quality case I have ever owned) was on a clear-out sale new for $59

got my steam deck on its first ever sale as well and have loved it, def a device that will NOT collect dust for me.

for the performance to price ratio, its a pretty baller rig.

now I am off to Aldi's to try and find some Madagascar Chocolate on sale

edit: to be fair, I don't look hard for sales, I just sort reddit pcsales subreddit by "new" instead of "hot" and that's pretty much how I got 90% of those items on such good prices. I haven't looked at reddit or that subreddit in a long time though, as there is really nothing else I want to buy these days.

Got some memory for my laptop. Mismatched, I know, but this will run at JEDEC anyway. If you then ask me why get a CL15 stick, my answer is simply that it was at a good price haha

EDIT: somehow they ended running at 2400CL14. Little worse than the 2666CL15 XMP of the Kingston module, WAY better than the 2666CL19 of the original Samsung stick. Stonks, I guess.

If its a Lenovo laptop, you can get into the advanced section of the BIOS using a certain ley combination before powering on the machine and change RAM timings and possibly overclock them as well.
I have a Lenovo Ideapad C340-14API equipped with a Ryzen 5 3500U, 20 GB RAM (4 GB onboard + 16 GB stick) and the RAMs used to run at 2400 MHz CL19 out of the box. I took apart the laptop and both the soldered memory modules and the stick are from Samsung and rated at 2666 MHz CL19. Went to the advanced menu, selected 2666 MHz, dropped timings to CL17 and bingo. I disabled Gear Down mode as well as it was adding some latency. The machine feels much snappier.
I am sure other manufacturers also have a trick but I am only aware of the one used by Lenovo.

Mine is a Clevo, but with a Positivo bios. With Positivo's history, no chance on that unfortunately.
Then again, my laptop is secondary. For any higher-end needs, I have my desktop.

Technically they are both mine. She can use either one but mostly uses the 3080ti system.

Lately it has been mostly PS5 for her.

Honestly I've been spending so much money on hobby stuff I'll probably do my system update next...

this is why I don't have a gf, I do not understand someone who has access to a 4090 and OLED who chooses PS5.

If you ever think you'll ever actually understand women you'll be sorely disappointed.

She only play stuff on their that isn't on PC the monitor will be the third oled I've purchased and since I already have a 48 C1 figured ultrawide makes more sense becuase I have every other type already lol.

I've always had really bad luck with Razer products dying and at least for me the CS is a pita to deal with.

Others seem to have no issue though.
i haven't used razer since 2007 and was mostly on the logitech train (incl. sennheiser, steelseries and astro headsets)
i've bought 6-7 different logitech mice/keyboards/headsets and every single thing i bought is for different reasons broken except of one mouse (g502 x).
the build quality, packaging, software, materials and overall specs are far beyond logitechs highest endstuff nowadays. they really dropped the ball a couple years ago.

They make nice products for sure just never have any luck with them lasting. Logitech at least in the states replaces stuff with very little resistance but I've only ever had one mouse bug out on me from them.

I still have a razer headset stand going strong though.

Logitech sure has S-tier RMA. If only we didn't need it frequently...

Knock on wood I've been lucky most my logitech products other than my keyboard are 3-5 years old and going strong I even have a couple mice in a box that still work I think my mouse on my secondary PC might need to be replaced soon a Logitech G pro but it's from 2018 and it's really just the cable that seems worn.

I consider anything lasting 5 years to be adequate. My razer stuff never made it to a year.

I have a bunch of corsair stuff that still works as well some from like 2016.

I've had one Logi G keyboard and two mice with hiccups within a year, all of them with chattering (and the G810 with defective leds).

Might just be the luck of the draw with these companies my buddy has multiple razer products that lasted him a long while till he replaced them with Corsair products.

And as I like to say I won the lottery when I met my wife no need to play the normal lottery.

Yeah, I know that. I did fix the G502 HERO myself and use it at work (at home it was replaced with my Viper Ultimate). I also did try to repair the G810 (not its led, though), but while I did swap the switches that were chattering, a bunch others started having issues :(, hence I decided to go optical and get my Huntsman Elite. Also, the keycaps on the G810 are quite fragile, and Romer-G means they're not that easily found and replaced.
The first mouse that chattered was a G102 Prodigy, which got replaced by the HERO.

To be fair I made more money than her when we met.... It's just what she does for a living has really taken off in the last 5-6 years where as what I do it's about the same only about a 5 usd difference starting vs starting pay unless you work for a local Kaiser Hospital which I've had no interest in even with their extremely high pay they are seemingly always on strike.

I still need to update my platform it's been on the back burner for other stuff also until recently it hasn't been a issue. Probably needs to be my next priority intel is taking their sweet time releasing a new socket would really prefer to see what that offers before pulling the trigger.

Logitech g pro and g512 carbon, both given for parts with serious double clicking/typing issues. Even the mouse pad was broken.
Razer viper and blackshark wireless, both in excellent condition without any issues while the mouse was a toy for my 2 years old son for months.
I don’t like the razer style but whatever I had from them still work and look like the first day.
